Which MMO should I play from these?>FFXIV>SWTOR>LOTRO>Guild Wars 2>Secret World>Other?I'm going to be a F2P player mostly. I don't really care about reaching endgame and becoming a high rank douche. I just want an immersive world I can log in to, have some good story questing and vibe when I want to chill. I'll probably be solo but I'd be happy to socialize if the game is good for that.
Gw2 is probably the best bet. Idk lotro at all so that could be good too. But gw2 is a lot of exploration, casual as fuck, and technically you can get some stuff from the Jew store like the living story stuff by trading gold for gems
>f2p playernah fuck off
>>1975158Is GW2 really good? I have nice memories of GW1 but I'm told GW2 ditched the worldbuilding and story focus.
>>1975481>GW2 ditched the worldbuilding and story focuslol nope. not at all 90% of what you do in the first 500 hours are story quests. well designed and main quest is fully voiced>>1975151I strongly reccommed ESO. very good world building and quests. works well solo as well as with others. lots of people dont like the combat. but as f2p you miss lots of content after the main game and the crafting bag
FFXIV is great from Heavensward (1st expansion) to Endwalker. A Realm Reborn is a slog for the most part, but if you enjoy the non-MSQ bits of the game, you can really get into it.If you don't mind mostly cutscenes and story games, then you'd probably enjoy XIV. I suggest skimming through most of ARR if you get bored of the cutscenes. The voiced ones are worth watching. You can tell what's important. There's a lot of fluff. Heavensward is where I started to get into the story and I think it stayed solid up until Endwalker main story ended.SWTOR is WoW with more of a story focus. At least up until level 50. It's ok. I played 2 classes to 50 and did their class quests and enjoyed it but I don't care that much about continuing to play.Old School Runescape is actually a great game for questing if you don't mind grinding. Or you can play Runescape 3 as an Ironman to turn off microtransactions and just vibe in a decent world.
>I'm looking for a singleplayer game.>Which MMO should I play?
>>1975151ESO and SWTOR imoyou can play them solo like singleplayer games
>>1975151erenshor
>>1975845>>1975499I don't enjoy Skyrim or the ES world in general so I probably won't like ESO>>1976344I want a real MMO though
>>1975151World of Warcraft (Retail) the game has actually just been a singleplayer RPG for like 8 years now, but people still insist its an MMO
>>1978214>I want a real MMO thoughFinal Fantasy 11
>>1975151GW2 is probably the best bet for the thing you want, however the expansions require you to purchase them, and I feel like they need to reduce the price of some of the older ones because trying to onboard new players is hard when buying everything is like $150 not on sale. Imo it should be like $50 + $25 for the latest one. The game is fucking filled with micro transactions and they charge out the ass for quality of life stuff like bag slots, they should lower the entry price to get more people in. I've had conversations with multiple friends that are interested in the game but lose that interests when they see the price of buying all the expansions.
>>1980184Does guild wars 2 still have sexy armors?
>>1980187It launched with some lewd armor, then a dark age happened where they stopped making them, but in the last 3 to 4 years they've gone back to making them and really just dived headfirst into catering to coomera and even recently released slut mogged bikini's. They are a gem shop only item however, but there's some revealing stuff you can find in the janthir expansion like the woad armor.
>>1980189Is guild wars 2 fun? I remember playing the first one in late grade school/middle school and my dad judging me hard for playing a sexy sorceress girl in a skirt.
>>1980197I only ever play it these days to do WvW. I find the open world PvE to be kind of boring to be honest and the mini expansions are drip feed content that they pad out with time wasting objectives to grind the zone to unlock the next story quest. I think the combat is fun and with the next expansions releasing in October there will be 4 elite specs per class, so the game actually feels like it has some variety compared to what it was on launch.I didn't really like the game back in 2012, I still think Guild Wars is better, but it's also a very different game structure. I was able to eventually click with GW2 and mostly found my fun in WvW zerg autism.
>>1980214I wish swtors engine wasn’t so shit. I don’t think it would have fallen off as far as it did if the engine wasn’t so janky to work with. The guy that chose to do this to get the pay off really screwed us over. It would scratch the tism to have massive Star Wars battles.
>>1980244The animations and models in swtor are so stiff. I've played most of the class stories, and it's probably the best "single player" MMO experience but man, Everytime in return to it, the game is so ugly. And I don't just mean it looks old because I play a lot of old MMOs, it's just ugly stiff character models even for it's time. They aslo updated all the character textures recently and my chiss now looks like a old woman.
>>1980328To be fair we all are getting too old
>>1975151kinda related but I'm going through Guild Wars 1 pretty much on my own, it was rough at some points but once I unlocked heroes it turned to smooth sailing.after this I'm debating either going to GW2 or FF11>>1975833you wouldn't get it
>>1975751>Old School Runescape is actually a great game for questing if you don't mind grinding''grinding'' is an understatement
Solofags are mentally ill.
>>1975151LOTRO is so big, it's great for when you just want to get on your mount and ride forever. It's very f2p-able, and right now if you get in there's a code to unlock a lot of old stuff that hasn't been made perma-free already.https://www.lotro.com/news/lotro-free-questing-coupon-2025-enPic is just part of one "zone". They added the pink bit a while back but not Southfarthing yet.
>>1975151try AQW
GW2 is pretty consistently enjoyable, but they’re dangerously close to overexpanding.
