Murky is best for dealing with shitty allies. When you can clear waves instantly and come back 6 seconds after dying it's not so stressful. The issue is that eventually you reach an MMR where people know how to deal with puffer fish and don't take the bait off chasing you. All that leaves you is octo and while it can be effective, it's easily counted by killing you so it's not the I win button it was on lower ranks.
However, of you're upset about playing against murky, the only thing I can sympathize with is that you have to babysit him and he can fuck to forever, you can't fuck up once. But he's very easy to deal with for most heroes. Li Ming is an interesting case. She has no counter to fish bribe, but he does provide her trait value.
Most murky players are bad and the fake egg talent needs to be changed. It needs to have collision detection so he can't hide under the obviously fake eggs. That shit is cancer and bribe is better anyway.

Watching my replays doesn't make me not get leavers and trolls every other game. I know that statistically I should get 20% less trolls since I'm not, but it really doesn't work out that way. If I get 2 wins in a row I get a enemy 5 stack and troll the next two games. Solo que climbing is nearly impossible. I do get potty trained allies, but only about a third of the time.
I do have games where my team manages to overcome shitty qm comp or whatever, but it's so draining I can only do it a couple of times before I don't have the energy to keep trying.
Improving just gets me shittier allies. I try best to work with them, but unless I want to play murky robotically I can't carry them. On the heroes I have trouble with I get players who carry me, but only about 25% of the time.
IDK the experience you've had, but for me, I'll win 7 in a row then have 20 straight games of leavers, griefers, and players who've been playing for years but don't understand the basics of rotations, soaking, and objective values.
When I win a game after an extra 10 minutes and really close team fights because my level 2000+allies don't know you can right click the core and don't have to do an objective that will spawn when the other team receives I just don't have the energy to do that 5 more times that day.

Not that I'm aware of. What they did change "recently" is the timer before the matchmaker starts to "expand" the criteria is lower. This is only relevant for ranked. There's a sort of MMR for QM and ARAM as well but considering these prioritize finding a match quickly, you're always flipping a coin on whether you'll get actual human beings or monkeys as teammates.

It's the "safe" 20, and it provides value even if Deckard dies. 20 Sleep is really good but for some reason, you might not be getting enough value out of it. 20 Lorenado can be more disruptive than helpful if you have skillshot heroes on your team. Perfect Gems is just W cdr if you don't have gem talents. Which leaves Bottomless Flask, the "safe" talent.

With the most cdr (Safety in Numbers), Q cd is 2s. So you throw your first pot, and with perfect cd management, you can throw another 4 pots in 8s, which is when the first pot comes back. You threw 5 pots but healed for 6, an increase of 20%, which is okay. It's the "safe" talent for this reason, you always get a bit of value out of it, and it's also good for core all-ins.

The new tower changes really suck, now that I've had some time to adjust to them. Diving is completely unchecked and the defender's advantage is essentially gone. Not enough to make me quit the game, but it's been one of the worst major changes I've ever seen.

But is is real value, assuming the fight takes longer than 8 seconds, the minimum for the first flask to come back up. Since you're not a korean GM and neither are the 9 other players, this can happen a lot even after level 20. By the way, my math was for the maximum cdr and with perfect cd management which is not realistic. In practice you might be able to throw 3 other pots during these 8s, so another pot coming back after 8s would realistically be a 33-40% increase in healing. Of course this doesn't beat Ruby+Perfect Gems if you have a melee-heavy team but that's not the point.

Mei is oppressive at low mmr, but she's under tuned. If you make the effort to get out of the op slow/stun and don't get baited into chasing her into danger when her d is up she's pretty weak by the numbers.
Now if they have a competent alerak throwing you in the stun that can be pretty tough.

Also, this patch her avalanche is buggy and goes through walls a lot where it's not supposed to. Same with stitches hook. I've seen it pull thru a gate at least 3 times, 2 of which got recorded.

Seriously question but why do people perpetuate this lie? I can only imagine this comes from people whom do not actually play rank but have this mystical false representation of rank being more than what it is then go about spreading this false narrative from their own ignorance of the mode. Ranked Mode is filled with all kinds of problems which I personally believe is a flow on effect from players coming from QM still not understanding the basics of the game. Every rank under plat is a joke with games being entirely a coin flip based on random variables like who is the weakest player or which side is filled with smurfs playing divisions under their true rank. Bronze 5 itself is a specialized hell hole filled with the absolute worse scum of players with their own warped interpretations of how to play the game and will actively fight you if you somehow cannot mindread their stupidity. The only time when matches start to become more organized is at diamond + even then its mostly filled with one tricks who are mechanically skilled at their one tricks and can still lack game knowledge (you can still get stupid plays like invading enemy boss so you can safely do your own boss to then either do nothing or then somehow push core despite first boss was closer to core and had less structures to go through.)
In my own personal experience, I've encountered so many one tricks in ranked that warp the entire lobby around them assuming they also don't get banned out as well which then affects how well they play on their team. Need waveclear? Too bad hammer one trick is going to pick their one trick and fuck you for thinking otherwise.
I really cannot understate the amount of clown fuckary goes about in ranked despite it being the most serious gamemode dont you know. People throwing for not winning the match fast enough, Players who havent played for 5 years coming back with warm up games in ranked mode being worse than AI

used to be ride or die calamity li-ming builder but lately I've been having a lot of success with the glass cannon sniper build so long as they have no dive heroes

the problem is that it's incredibly easy to punish when you use it defensively because it either

it should almost always be used offensively near the point where both teams collapse since it's an area of "guaranteed damage"

a nice QoL feature though would be if you can re-cast it early for a lower percentage healing, or if your Q cast immediately popped it for the full heal as long as your target was in the circle

Zul'jins who pick Headhunter in ARAM are a special kind of stupid. They always take 15 minutes to complete their quest and all it gives them is 10% damage that Recklessness already grants at level 1 and +1.1 auto range which is fairly irrelevant in ARAM. And they always feed for that last kill they need.

Zul'jin is already a 6.6 range hero. There are very few situations where having an extra 1.1 range on top will help him auto/kite better. And ever since they capped his quest to 50 bonus damage, it's better to go W build in ARAM.

There is definitely some sort of matchmaking going on, because I started averaging a 75% wr and now it's closer to 55% and players do seem better on average. It's just very loose matchmaking and I assume some matches are just 1-2 diamonds and 3-4 silvers on each team.
