The biggest problem communities are /xivg/, /pso2g/, and /bnsg/ and I mean, it tracks. They're some of the worst generals on the board.So, XIV is suffering from its worst content drought in a while, PSO is dead, the BNS reboot flopped; now all these people are looking for a new game to play. The BP reboot is casual and has a pretty heavy focus on dress up, so it starts generating interest and pulling people in. Naturally, this also attracts the "thread personalities"/attentionwhores from each general.The anime MMO populace in general is getting kinda inbred, most new blood is playing gacha instead. This means that a lot of these people have history going back for years, and a lot of them fucking hate each other. All of these attentionwhores evolved to fill a specific niche in their ecosystems, and mixing them all together is like introducing a bunch of invasive species to a deserted island in the Pacific. The avatarfags arrive and begin jockeying for status, soon followed by their friends/enemies (the line here is a lot blurrier than you'd think!), followed eventually by newfags. Everyone is in a race to control the narrative and smear their respective targets. This gets exponentially worse as the schizos begin speciating out and picking targets from other generals. Eventually you end up with the current mess where 99% of the thread is meaningless dramaslop.If you care at all about the game it's fucking horrific. If you don't then it's like a reality show where a bunch of gay men in their late 30s act like catty teenage girls towards one another, which is vaguely entertaining. It's similar to the garbage that airs on TLC constantly.

I joined for Rift, played through the two anniversary revisits, played allods and had to skip Conan because I already played it. If the thread was actually going to play official mabinogi (I haven't tried the classic servers), the main problems I would see with it is that the only real time for a new player to start is during summer with master plan and that you wouldn't really get anywhere in 2 weeks so it would be kinda pointless. I like Mabinogi but I don't think it's a good fit.
