It can be good for a boss that just stays in one spot like Venena but there aren't that many of those. Especially once you're on the Toram bosses and the decoy just gets stunlocked by spikes. Long Range is worth having at least, it does boost your damage on any skill with more than 8m range even if you use it at point blank.
