You will encounter 2 massive bottlenecks, T6 where you will be used as fodder for T8 and T8 where you will be used as fodder for premium T8 tanks and T10
If you make it to T10 after that you are better than 70% of the player base
Even without premium, it is impossible to lose money up to T8 unless you are 100% loaded with gold, however the game is generous with credit and xp boosters especially during large holidays
Easy lines include US T110E5 line, Object 140 line, Tortoise and T95 line (easy to play, but very team dependant), Canopener (you can even ignore the gimmick)
I would recommend you to avoid dedicated LT lines until you know the maps and how the positioning works

I don't care about WR. The teams are often so unbalanced that you cannot win and after 1 minute it's already 2-7. I play to win, not to pad the stats. But at the same time, stats give estimation of your impact in the game.

I would love the game to have balanced MM, where your WR and current skill rating would allow you to estimate if you are improving or not, but that's not the case in WOT 2.0.

Also depends on the tank I'm playing, some are not fast/versatile enough to solo carry game, while some other are.

It seems interesting, it was broken on Lesta but the version we got is sort of a weird Minotauro/Italian TD sort of affair.
You have a LONG intraclip reload of 5s, but the DPM itself is pretty competitive among the T9 heavies and it has a short clip reload on a 5 round magazine, so you get the sort of stun proof/consistent reload advantage the Italian TDs have. It's less a conventional autoloader and more of a tank with that needs short windows of downtime to reload the autoloader which isn't much of an ask with how static the meta tends to be.
Of course the downside is it doesn't have too much in the way of turret armor and lacks gun depression, so it's more of a heavium although that seems to be half the "heavies" in the game anyways. Just not ideal on a tank that has an intraclip that isn't fast enough to magdump and isn't slow enough to be doing peekaboo tactics - by the time you retreat behind the corner you're already almost reloaded, but if you stay out in the open your reload isn't doing you favors and you don't have armor.

It really is good. It's very easy to keep your DPM up, you can skip one reload and just shoot twice next time. With 1.5s lock time, it's very fun tank to play. Only thing is paper turret against tier X. You will be bullied hard. But against the rest upper plate can bounce surprisingly well. It's not broken, but like you said, the gun handling makes it fun to play.

H3 on the other hand is weird. This 5s intra-clip reload is awkward. It's short enough so you don't have time to pull back, basically forcing you to go in, but at the same time it's long enough that you will be punished before unloading your load on the enemy. At the same time, zero armor and huge tank, doesn't help.

I played only few matches, but I struggled a lot to find a playstyle. I think it's a good tank to set an ambush from a far and do some backshoots and unsuspecting enemies. But then there are so many better autoloaders to just dump your load faster.

It's shit to go in, shit to stay behind cover, because you won't be using the clip at all. If you have tips for this tank, let me know.

For tanks, it's sort of just down to individual preferences. Some people want the arcadey HP bar gameplay where there's room to make mistakes and there's positioning and teamplay and the like. War Thunder is just click on the other guy before he clicks on you because most hits are one shot kills, there's an appeal to War Thunder Ground and for some people it's going to be better than tanks, but some people want a more "casual" experience.
For Planes, it's the reverse of Naval where I can't imagine why anyone would play WoWP

Respawns? CAS? I have to pay to respawn the same tank? I have to grind out several tanks and also at least one plane/heli of the same tier to even have fun. It doesn't help that gaijin happens to be even scummier than wargaming and the grind basically requires spending a significant amount of money. I had my pretty nice ten year old account hacked and they would not give me the time of day since I had not purchased anything. They actually told me since I had not linked my credit card to the account they would not help me. Not could not, but would not get it back.

WT wins for aviation by far, tanks are a matter of preference and WT ships are largely ignored.

They look like pretty solid, large caliber autocannons on a medium line so I imagine they should have good pen. Tesak has 192 on 57mm cannons, I would expect the US medium autocannon to sit somewhere around 230-240 on standard rounds and 280-290 on premium.
They'll both be APCR though to absolutely fuck you on normalization, might be cool if they get whacky HE like the Czech line though with something like 100mm of pen.
I also don't think they're going to be the same blistering rate of fire since they have an "overheat" mechanic which suggests to me they won't have a conventional magazine/reload but instead they'll fire at something like 60RPM with an alpha around 100-150 per shell and after something like 15-20 shells they overheat and lock you out, but you'll be able to fire in 5-10 round bursts and never have to reload.
We'll see how close I am vs what WG has decided to do once supertest details start leaking or WG just gives us a proper sneak peak.

The tier 10s seem pretty strong, with BZT-70 having a stronger hull than expected and the Coccodrillo being impenetrable from a distance with simply using -2 degrees out of the max -8 degrees gun depression.

My account is already flooded with tier 10 reward tanks already, so I don't really need to swipe for this year's boxes. I also got burnt last year chasing all the XMAS tanks and playing none of them except for the squall.

In WoWS it used to be that if you bought a permanent camo for gold, you got significant economic bonuses for a ship. This means more credits earned, less repair costs, etc. You can still get the booster packages, they just aren't tied to camo anymore since the game separated economics from visuals.
Now at the end of the day a Tier 8 with a booster pack still isn't as good as a Tier 8 premium, but it's close enough for people who really enjoy playing a tech tree vehicle and if you have booster packages on your tier 10s you can play tier 10s without any sort of premium account.
The WoT should do the same thing, if you buy the expensive 3D style for a T10 tank that costs like 4500 gold or w/e (or if you have it from putting in effort/winning it from whatever source) you get a credit boost on that tank that makes it possible to earn money or at least break even on a tier 10 without a premium account.

Finally got around to playing my E-77 I got last year and wow, this thing is surprisingly good.
Armor didn't do a lot for me (although it looks like it would be good if I put it in a hull down) but the mobility and the reliable heavy hitting 128 put in a lot of work. It plays like a medium with heavy alpha without having wonky dogshit dispersion which is nice.

holiday ops override the well-deserved award.
i think you launch the game in safe mode to hide the holiday garage so it opops up. at least that worked years ago when i had the same problem
