Furthermore, this "Alert" mechanic has totally fucked over the game. It encourages people to ghostcap which is boring. No longer 3 hour long epic battles for The Crown or Biolabs etc since an alert occurs within 5 mins of unlocking a new continent, and its always the same alert type.

By itself in a vacuum it's not very useful, but thankfully stat tracking sites have a lot more info than just kdr. As a whole, all those stats paint a pretty decent picture of what kind of player someone is. A heavy might have superficially good stats at first glance, but when you look at his most used weaponry and find a bunch of explosive shit, that's when you know it's probably some shitter who just sits in Nasons or whatever 96+ shitfest and lobs grenades and Thumper rounds the whole time. Similar for an Infil who has a 10kd, but then a 0.1kpm; he's either some mountain camper taking potshots at people from across the hex, or a stalker who roleplays as a cctv camera waiting for someone to stop right in front of him so that he can finally get a kill.
