Sure they are seeing that gamba boxes sell and that likely means more Cron sinks, but it doesn't take that many Crons to get to a spot where you can do everything bar Orbita, Tenebraum and Zephyros, and then the rest is endgame anyway. The alternative I see is that if they keep making a loss their only option is going harder on microtransactions and hoping people spend to slow their decline. At least this way they should be able to fund making meaningful improvements and adding decent new content to the game.

They've already given out TET + PEN Blackstar weapons and Dream + Mythical horses before as well as a Garmoth Heart earlier in the year, so the possibilities for new things may have to branch out a bit more without repeats. Yeah I really don't know what they could do realistically to bring people's interest back in. Everyone's done seeing new gear added and probably don't want to see new gear added for the next two or three years unless they're side grades. There's not really much side content they could make that'd actually be fun to do, I guess they could add more weekly timegated bosses or dungeons and keep pretending that content is good, or do dokkebi chests part 3. A new lifeskill sounded cool years ago, now people will see it as PA trying to milk the playerbase with some low effort mid content. The way gear is set up right now I don't think there's an alternative, but the real issue is partially mindset and partially what there is to do:
Lots of players that I see complaining about Crons see grinding as the end goal; grinding for silver to buy Crons to get better gear to buy more Crons. People who have NOV weapons and accessories are complaining about Crons as if there's a real need for DEC. But in modern BDO there's not lots to do with gear other than grind. I try to play RBF but Valencia can be a bit rubbish and it's only populated when events are on. I don't know why we have ten battlefields when even now with the event two matches are on and one is matching. Surely we could have four for Valencia, for for Castle Ruins, and for for Garmoth's Nest?
My guild doesn't do Node Wars and I don't think I like the idea of large-scale so I've never looked into it. Guild League seems like it might be fun but I never hear talk about that anymore. Then Solare is probably the most popular PvP format and that uses set gear (which is fine just to be clear).
One more thing I will say is that PA leaning more and more on loot boxes for Crons is sad to see, I have no issue spending some money on BDO, but why would I ever buy Crons for just a few AP? I doubt it's a large portion of the users who are spending thousands on these things to get a few enhancement levels up on multiple pieces of gear.

It's not a problem designed to be solved. That's why they sell the solution on the pearl shop. The cron costs are designed specifically to split the player base into 2, whales and the rest of them, and also broaden the gap between those 2 with every new gear released. In most games the whales are usually paying to skip time. skip some grind, but not here. You can be grinding optimally for 2 years, that will push you eventually to endgame, sure, but you won't even be halfway in to hardcap.

The cron "problem" came when they made the new gear, which were intended to have tens or hundreds of thousands of crons smashed into them. There is no solution because it can't be fixed, because it's not a "problem", it's intentional design. The only real way to actually fix the issue would be to revert every change they've done since the beginning of 2023 and figure out another, more subtle way to powercreep the previous BiS gear.

Just some thoughts off the top of my head, I personally would love a revamp of some of the bosses e.g. Dark Rift, they have so many unused bosses, Al Rhundi, Titum, Giath, Ronin, Urugon, Leebur, Steel Nux, Puturm, Agrakhan, probably loads more that I am forgetting that could make up the six weekly bosses. There needs to be not 'better' per say but just more relevant loot from them, the difficulty for the higher levels needs to be upped and the loot for those needs to be increased as well.
A rollback of the 5% cap for some spots and also a rollback of the Agris would be nice as well. Some spots to have a 5% cap is fine, I would like just a few that don't for some variety, some that I can stick around at when I like them, and ones to burn Agris fast when I need to, either through the low cap or just high Agris cost per mob.
Some sort of improvement on RBF would be great, at least bringing back Castle Ruins but perhaps just having four or five servers for each map rather than ten with at least seven empty and more like nine when there isn't an event going on
A few more mob zones in the 270-300 range for bridging season to Sovereign would probably help the current state of things
Speaking of monster zones, really what they should do is make certain servers have specific mob zones be beginner then others be harder, similar to how the first implementation of Elvia was. An example of what I mean is that Calpheon servers should have the monsters in the Calpheon region be levels 1-50 for players starting the game, then other regions are tougher in some order, and similarly the Valencia servers have mobs in those regions be levels 1-50 and other regions are tougher. This would solve some of the issues regarding older spots being completely forgotten, and could also provide a wide variety of different starts.

I want casual group spots that are viable with any amount of party members so that it makes sense to group up with whatever randoms are in the area and that they can pretty much be of any skill as long as they're in the area killing mobs. No more "no sorry we already have a 3rd, sorry I already have a duo". You can do about 95% of the game with duo god armors. Certain low-DR/lengthy animation classes will benefit greatly from them at D2 Ash, D2 Oluns, and Orzekea though.
You should be looking to push armors further only once you have the AP to do Nymphamare.

I tend to get my max order of 10 filled every few days on average. Count on getting about 1 heralding artifact upgrade per month at the current rate of market orders filling

The way the game was originally designed, there wasn't enough resources(grind zone space) for everyone, so we had to fight over it. That's gone now aside from the Edania throne(lmao) Castle buff(lmao Node Wars in 2025), and Arsha grinding(lmao).

This is the main reason pvp isn't fun anymore
It's no longer happening as an organic struggle for the best stuff, instead it's ego battles, middle school-tier guild drama, and spite.
I guess those latter things are better at getting people emotionally involved enough to pay money to win.

You're half right. PVP should happen because it's fun to fight, not over a spot. There shouldn't be a "reason" to fight except for the fight itself, that's the problem. Anything else like gear difference, switching crystals, active buffs or grind spot scarcity comes after. It should be like a shooter game or dota/league.
So, despite the game having the best action combat out of all other MMOs, people don't wanna fight. Why is that?

My guess is that people don't want to grind and there can't be genuine fun stacked on top of it. Like playing football, fun with friends but if you start kicking a ball in the office you're kind of a douche.

If you are 100% certain that you are going to main an awak class, or at least tag mostly awak classes, getting a second awak to make your awak sovereign will be better overall. You will get some decent sheet stats that way, and the reforge stones will also be good.
