Good edition.
I lost my mind and boycott Dragons Dogma 2 when I learned you couldn't make a loli. The first game excelled in that regard. But how is the game really?
>>2051187>But how is the game reallyGood except it's missing dungeons. I want my goddamn dungeons in my dragons and dungeons.
>>2051190The entire game is just overworld fights? How is this possible? Not even like a forest level like the first game?
>>2051187It's great but extremely disappointing at the same time (considering the wait, pre-release info and interviews), the more you play the more you realize just how many things had to be scrapped, many awkwardly sealed dungeons, story actually becoming weirdly rushed in the 2nd act, and the way the game was on release lacking some basic features, it had some really troubled development I think. However it's still definitely worth playing, such an unique game, many people will say it's bad but I don't think they appreciate the gameplay, this whole franchise is still underappreciated imo.>>2051191There's several dungeons and they're nice but on replays you'll kind of wish there were more for sure, specially when you notice those caves and dungeons that have some awkwardly place rubble in front of them that you think might get cleared out somehow at sometime, but nope, they just ran out of time, and placed some rocks in front of the unfinished dungeons, very tragic.
>>2051191There are some dungeons and large cave systems, and there's plenty of areas with their own flavor that are sort of separate from the rest of the map. But for the scale it's not enough dungeons for me, especially when there isn't an end dungeon.
>>2051187it got hit with the same bullshit DD1 was cause capcom never believed in either, both games have been used as filler and/or tech demos as far capcom was concernedanyway i think the biggest issue for me is just that and one point of the plot you're basically funnelled into ending the game right there and then, while the other half of the game awaits you in other places. As said point of the plot has you leaving the first main city and region to go the the second main city and region, after that the game has a lot more content if you go back to the first city and region (more questlines open up and stuff) but never tells you, while the plot has you doing some otherwise small busywork until you're suddenly in the end game. As the other anons said, it was simply rushed so some cracks show up like that, but it is still an enjoyable game i happily spent two months on. And it's wildly better on pc as mods cracked the game's systems open and you can basically make your own vocations and shit now, in fact you should look into some mods if you want to play it as another minor issue is that there's very little equipment to find in the wild (and it's static so it's always there no matter what), everything else you need to buy from shops and there's a few mods that fix that
>>2051225Where's the best to look for mods?
>>2051248idk about best but i get them from nexusmods

>>2051190>those fucking dead-ends that are obviously closed off gateways
>>2051415Fuck, you are right. I do wonder how many times I copy-pasted this shit incorrectly.

>>2051674Some findings from hiring her with two of my characters: she will still have dragonsplague even after she nuked one of my towns, so the game is probably waiting for you to update her status. Also I miss the time when this just happened with barely any warning signs
Should I bother to post my twink pawn
Go for it
>>2051174>Dark Arisen>PS4/5>Sovern>Lv 200 Fighterhttps://pawnguild.xyz/pawn/ps4/974
Not very brave of them to turn into dust like that
>>2051456Some of them straight up hurt, like the one in the "dead end curve" cave in the misty marshes, which clearly wasn't supposed to be a dead end
>>2052305Huh, interesting.Funny enough I also got my first dragonsplague popup after hiring Anderson, but he was completely fine. >>2052748Seems the Greater Will had anti-cheat installed this cycle
>>2052802most obvious one imo is the gorgon cave, it was clearly supposed to continue down but they just closed everything and moved the boss fight to what i suppose was just the entrance of the dungeon. Hell the game even still acts as if you're moving into a different place if you enter the small cave beyond said entrance, as if it was never supposed to be just a small cavecapcom is so retarded man
dudes have free cammed behind those blocked off gateways and some of them straight up have space emptied out for something lol
Hey /ddg/, ex-divegrass manager here. /vg/ won in the 4CC autumn babby last night. >>>/vg/545954842Grigori was one of the clutch defenders that made it possible. Just thought I should mention it since it's a nice send-off for him and /ddg/ the team. Seeya around.
I actually laughed out loud.
>>2053278That's just... weird
love my pawnlove this game
>>2054387why is it so yellow
>>2054404now that you mention it doesn't look nearly that bad in-game. Might be the encoding settings, don't really know what's best.
>>2054387Nice catch. We were so close to getting the perfect game, if it had more monsters and a well put together hard mode I would just play it forever
>>2051674Beefy warrior cats... my weakness...
So Luz refers to the Rivage Elder as "he who *was* dragon-forged". The Elder will tell you that the seas dried up in "another world", the "real one". And yet when you enter Unmoored, pathfinder says: "Innumerable wills have served to deliver this world from extiction, time and time again. *You alone* have refused tp carry out that great purpose"What is going on... How does Phaesus know about the world-forged, since the only other character in the game who's aware of him is none other than the Seneschal Rothais. Why does pathfinder tell you that Unmoored is "your world, the one you longed to *return* to".So many questions, and the writer of these games left Capcom. Also, our pawn can control Talos and Rook straight up tells you not to worry about him being taken by the Brine at the beginning of the game, so this must mean the pathfinder is involved with those, right?
>>2056134The game felt incomplete. Literally phantom pain, things pick up in Battahl so fast. And even the Vermund questline is like ??? DLC will save us.Doesn't help that i played the game a year ago and didn't understand 50% of your post but still.
>>2056134phaesus knew because he works out at the library
>>2056134Yeah, it's highly unlikely but if they released a DD2 artbook with developer notes it would at least give us something to go on. There's stuff like the Gracious Hand quest where the Abbess is clearly harvesting something from the sick people who they poison, and then trading it to the Laboratory in Battahl but we never find out what it was and how it was used.
>>2056178To be honest my post could have been less confusing>>2056206It might be completely unrelated, but in Greek mythology Talos is powered by ichor, which is the divine blood that runs in the veins of gods. He has a single vein running from his head to his ankle, and he was defeated by draining out the ichor from his body like we do in the game with the Brine-like substance popping out of the crystals that were piercing his body. Some ancient Christian writer deliberately referred to foul putrefied blood as ichor because he despised the pagan gods, the term was reportedly used in medicine for the watery discharge that comes out of ulcers. Phaesus is looking for a way to power up Talos, so I wonder if there's some connection with the Gracious Hand quest...
>>2056193So that's how he charmed Disa, got it. That checks out
>>2056216>Phaesus is looking for a way to power up TalosHe was? I thought Talos was trying to stop Phaesus which is why it chases him to the tower.
>>2056302I'm pretty sure the Rivage Elder says that Talos is supposed to stop the dragon when it commits some deeds that are considered excessive, he also says he doesn't know what that means. So yeah... But anyway, when you find Phaesus next to Talos in Unmoored World, he tells you that he's determined to make it rise again. Phaesus knows about pathfinder/the world-forged so he probably knows about the gigantus as well, somehow. Phaesus' goal seems to be the destruction of the cycle at whatever cost...? Can't be sure, but Talos activates when Rothais gives the arisen the Godsbane, so it doesn't look like he's chasing Phaesus specifically and it could simply be the case that he's moving towards the spot where Grigori is set to appear. I don't know, this stuff is confusing...
Do japs still make their games nearly unmoddable?
>>2056238speaking of, i'm once again stating that Disa should've had way bigger tits. Like bigger than her head big. That is all.
>>2056364I'll forgive Capcom if they release a creation kit for dogma 2 like Bethesda did for their games
>>2056364DD2 is very moddable
>>2056395That would be incredible, imagine a Skyrim-sized modding community for DD2, HOLY FUCK
>>2056302>Supposedly, the Brine have their colossal servant monitor the dragon, to ensure that it commits no acts of excess. As for what the Brine deem an "act of excess," I could not tell you.Capcom-sama please...
>>2056395Absolute cinema>>2056398I think so too but it has the same problem as the resident evil mods which is modders only being able to "switch stuff out" and adjust numbers, still better then nothing. Maybe there's just not enough modders; Bestiary seems like a good attempt at repurposing existing assets, but i think modders have a hard time adding new models (for enemies and objects) or new entries to the quests which is what is needed for achieving the dream. Got the dogma itch so i reinstalled DD2 and I've been having fun on a new save file (made sure to backup existing) with Gear progression overhaul, masterworks all, some cosmetic mods (no mesh edits, i fear the bugs and outdated mods); i've just reached Battahl... The increased gold costs really make every shop purchase meaningful, to patch up the RNG drops from bosses/dungeons. I haven't touched the enemy scaling or damage ratios (Simple Difficulty Tweaks mod) but i'm nearing level 30, should i lock my level at 30/32 or maybe 40?
>>2056641If you use DD2 save manager, back your save regularly so you can easily revert to whatever you feel like it's best capping your level at. I just cleared a new run at level 33, I think I entered Unmoored at 25 or 26 and I wasn't dying in one hit even with subpar armor so the challenge felt just right
I thought I'd find a seeker's token up there but it turns out it's just an empty spot
damn rip my bro griffin just wanted to carry us to safety and doesn't afraid of anything
>>2056398How moddable is it? I don't care about coomer stuff and big titties or whatever, what is the potential for any form of custom content? New weapon types or movesets, custom skills, spells, items, etc?
>>2057982mods are basically able to take apart the game systems and rearrange them in other ways, for example>custom skillsthere's a mod called something like that where you can make up your own attacks and skills (like customize not only how it works and what it does but also its vfx and whatever else), or in a similar vein another one that "unlocks" emotes for pawnsthat said i don't think there's stuff that properly adds content to the game, like idk proper new enemies or whatever. Still i'd say mods can get pretty varied even without that
>>2051173>eyebrowsdelete this
>>2057988Basically all the fanart has her with some tiny eyebrows
>>2057987Thanks, yeah I wasn't expecting anything as big as new monsters or new areas but I'm a sucker for being able to make and download custom movesets, attacks and spells. I'll check it out.

Does anybody have any experience with modding DD2? I think I'm going to attempt to make a small mod by following Nickesponja's tutorials on YouTube, I want to change the price of houses to make it so it's basically required to use inns on your first playthrough. Something like 100k for Mildred's house instead of 20k, so you could rest at Vernworth's inn 50 times for the same price. That should automatically incentivize the player (myself) to use campsites outside of town more often, but I could even raise the amount required to rest at inns a bit, like 5k instead of 2k.Then I also want to make oxcarts rides way more expensive, 1k at the very least, possibly 2k or more.Lastly, it would be cool if I could shorten the amount of time available to complete timed quests like Prey for the Pack, and even better if I could alter some non-timed quests to be timed instead, like Trial of Archery, since saving Doireann basically guarantees that you'll be able to evacuate the Sacred Arbor by just talking to Taliesin in Unmoored World vs having to go through the entire quest. If anyone has any tips to offer, those would be highly appreciated
>>2060447>Giving Capcom more moneyFor shame
>>2058022Hand looks like ai
>>2061387aimlessly shooting my shit here but i'd just make it so players just get way less money instead of increasing prices. Like make the main source of gold missions and sidequests, and some escorts too (but only few of them, like no way random peasants would give you money instead of like idk a loaf of bread or a flower)also would be cool to straight up add some exchange systems in shops so that you can't cheat your way out of having no money by just selling equipment, so basically shops will get the equipment you can give them but only give something else in return instead of moneyon timed quests though i disagree, it's not fun to make them even harder like that. Like a new player would feel frustrated they missed it and/or feel frustrated at the prospect of missing it and would look up a guide, while an old player would know what to do and the added "challenge" would be just lost on them, feels like a lose-lose situation imo
>>2061511Getting less money could achieve the same results but I figure it would be much harder to implement than changing a few values here and there. I'm completely inexperienced with modding, the way I'm looking at this is that I don't think we're getting DD3 anytime soon so I would love to have a mod I could use for my own personal enjoyment in the next 10 years of waiting around. I realize some of the things I find entertaining could be frustrating to other players. For example when it comes to the timed quest, my idea was to time myself sprinting to the objective to make sure I have just enough time to clear the quest. Even if the goal is not hard to achieve in the end, that sense of urgency would be enough to make it more enjoyable to me personally. On subsequent playthroughs, I found myself forgetting that the quests were even timed in the first place, so that's where the idea came from
Hello frens. Still working on my DD-esque game, now allowing to pick up and throw enemies
>>2062123Looks pretty good. Will you add interactions from DD2 such as sprinting into a wall with a held enemy?

>>2062386>>2062413>>2062889many thanks anons, the opinion of DD bros are very important to me and am very glad to see that you dig my stuff>>2062981it's a mix of Zelda and Dragon's Dogma. You start off as a fighter with a bunch of sword and shield skills, then you get the bow item (like in Zelda) which you can use as a magic bow withit's own, multiple skills (like in DD). And the same goes for the grappling hook, which instead of that is an item that has some skills from the mystic spearhand to push yourself towards stuff or pull enemies towards you. So by the end you'll be fighter + magic archer + mystic spearhand all at once, plus all the tools you have like bombs, holy water and whatever I can come up with. There's a quick slot item bar at the bottom so using those items should be quite seamless, no need to pause and enter the menu

>dd2 is basically a criticism of capcom's remake culture>the entire first part is a recreation of dd's storyline beat to beat>the fight with a dragon isn't something grand with earthshaking consequences anymore, it's par for the course to the point even the dragon is tired of it>going off-script and having free will (dragonsplauge) is considered as something to be afraid of, something negative and scary>the music to the true ending is called "a letter to no one"

Newfag hereJust wanted to ask, what's the optimal pawn pool that's usually getting hired in DD2? Is it around the range of lvl50-70 or lower?
>>2064367Can't really say, but in my current playthrough I'm level 35+ and I've been getting 1-2 hires every day and her pawn quest usually isn't completed which I guess means they aren't just hiring purely for rewards (but also maybe because Chimera's are relatively rare). For comparison my level 100+ pawn barely gets hires nowadays, even with 5 Allheal Elixir as rewards. So 50-70 seems safe. I'd probably cap it at 70 if you plan on hiring /ddg/ pawns without spending too much RC.
I wish I could opt out of pity hires...
>>2064390>I'd probably cap it at 70 if you plan on hiring /ddg/ pawns without spending too much RCI'm at a point where I'm considering to cap off my pawn's level before going to Battahl. So lvl50-70 sounds like the sweet spot for that since I near over-leveled myself in Vermund alone (I'm at 63). I've heard other players do the same thing but I don't know how they do it while still bringing their pawn along on quests without gaining any experience.
>>2064481you can download the custom difficulty tweaks mod and set exp gain to 1
>>2064524>you can download the custom difficulty tweaks mod and set exp gain to 1I'm trying to go vanilla-free mods on my first playthrough but looks like there's no other alternative but to use one. Fucking Capcom, this should've been a feature in the game like a ring that allows you to completely stop exp gains instead of having to use a third-party software. Anyway thanks bro. Now I can continue on playing with my healslut.

Most blatant cut content or am i retarded? The statue is pointing in the same direction as the chevron.
>>2065832That's the campsite with the dragon in front of it and a godsbane door behind it right?
>>2065840Well, there's a drake down in the "valley" but the statue itself is on top of this plateau the character is on, the statue points to the other side (which you cross from the 2 stone bridges, fight a cyclops, and then a griffin (might have been random)) and then you reach the campfire, it's positioned above the drake on the cliffs, in fact i avoided the drake entirely. To the right of the campfire is a collapsed entrance (the one stone arch with the mound of earth inside it, you know the (((one))))
>>2065840https://dragonsdogma2.wiki.fextralife.com/Western+RuinsI wasn't checking the fextralife map but other sites for my cave hunting, well, they have a short entry on it. There's no cave here.
