It's great but extremely disappointing at the same time (considering the wait, pre-release info and interviews), the more you play the more you realize just how many things had to be scrapped, many awkwardly sealed dungeons, story actually becoming weirdly rushed in the 2nd act, and the way the game was on release lacking some basic features, it had some really troubled development I think.
However it's still definitely worth playing, such an unique game, many people will say it's bad but I don't think they appreciate the gameplay, this whole franchise is still underappreciated imo.

There's several dungeons and they're nice but on replays you'll kind of wish there were more for sure, specially when you notice those caves and dungeons that have some awkwardly place rubble in front of them that you think might get cleared out somehow at sometime, but nope, they just ran out of time, and placed some rocks in front of the unfinished dungeons, very tragic.

anyway i think the biggest issue for me is just that and one point of the plot you're basically funnelled into ending the game right there and then, while the other half of the game awaits you in other places. As said point of the plot has you leaving the first main city and region to go the the second main city and region, after that the game has a lot more content if you go back to the first city and region (more questlines open up and stuff) but never tells you, while the plot has you doing some otherwise small busywork until you're suddenly in the end game. As the other anons said, it was simply rushed so some cracks show up like that, but it is still an enjoyable game i happily spent two months on. And it's wildly better on pc as mods cracked the game's systems open and you can basically make your own vocations and shit now, in fact you should look into some mods if you want to play it as another minor issue is that there's very little equipment to find in the wild (and it's static so it's always there no matter what), everything else you need to buy from shops and there's a few mods that fix that

What is going on... How does Phaesus know about the world-forged, since the only other character in the game who's aware of him is none other than the Seneschal Rothais. Why does pathfinder tell you that Unmoored is "your world, the one you longed to *return* to".
So many questions, and the writer of these games left Capcom.

Also, our pawn can control Talos and Rook straight up tells you not to worry about him being taken by the Brine at the beginning of the game, so this must mean the pathfinder is involved with those, right?

It might be completely unrelated, but in Greek mythology Talos is powered by ichor, which is the divine blood that runs in the veins of gods. He has a single vein running from his head to his ankle, and he was defeated by draining out the ichor from his body like we do in the game with the Brine-like substance popping out of the crystals that were piercing his body. I'm pretty sure the Rivage Elder says that Talos is supposed to stop the dragon when it commits some deeds that are considered excessive, he also says he doesn't know what that means. So yeah... But anyway, when you find Phaesus next to Talos in Unmoored World, he tells you that he's determined to make it rise again. Phaesus knows about pathfinder/the world-forged so he probably knows about the gigantus as well, somehow. Phaesus' goal seems to be the destruction of the cycle at whatever cost...? Can't be sure, but Talos activates when Rothais gives the arisen the Godsbane, so it doesn't look like he's chasing Phaesus specifically and it could simply be the case that he's moving towards the spot where Grigori is set to appear. I don't know, this stuff is confusing...

I think so too but it has the same problem as the resident evil mods which is modders only being able to "switch stuff out" and adjust numbers, still better then nothing. Maybe there's just not enough modders; Bestiary seems like a good attempt at repurposing existing assets, but i think modders have a hard time adding new models (for enemies and objects) or new entries to the quests which is what is needed for achieving the dream.

Got the dogma itch so i reinstalled DD2 and I've been having fun on a new save file (made sure to backup existing) with Gear progression overhaul, masterworks all, some cosmetic mods (no mesh edits, i fear the bugs and outdated mods); i've just reached Battahl... The increased gold costs really make every shop purchase meaningful, to patch up the RNG drops from bosses/dungeons. I haven't touched the enemy scaling or damage ratios (Simple Difficulty Tweaks mod) but i'm nearing level 30, should i lock my level at 30/32 or maybe 40?

If you use DD2 save manager, back your save regularly so you can easily revert to whatever you feel like it's best capping your level at. I just cleared a new run at level 33, I think I entered Unmoored at 25 or 26 and I wasn't dying in one hit even with subpar armor so the challenge felt just right

I haven't tested it but back then on my first warrior pawn I noticed against flying enemies (drakes especially) they sometimes spam the chain of blows core skill even when they're out of reach. Might want to consider avoiding that.

Does anybody have any experience with modding DD2? I think I'm going to attempt to make a small mod by following Nickesponja's tutorials on YouTube, I want to change the price of houses to make it so it's basically required to use inns on your first playthrough. Something like 100k for Mildred's house instead of 20k, so you could rest at Vernworth's inn 50 times for the same price. That should automatically incentivize the player (myself) to use campsites outside of town more often, but I could even raise the amount required to rest at inns a bit, like 5k instead of 2k.
Then I also want to make oxcarts rides way more expensive, 1k at the very least, possibly 2k or more.
Lastly, it would be cool if I could shorten the amount of time available to complete timed quests like Prey for the Pack, and even better if I could alter some non-timed quests to be timed instead, like Trial of Archery, since saving Doireann basically guarantees that you'll be able to evacuate the Sacred Arbor by just talking to Taliesin in Unmoored World vs having to go through the entire quest.
If anyone has any tips to offer, those would be highly appreciated

I'm completely inexperienced with modding, the way I'm looking at this is that I don't think we're getting DD3 anytime soon so I would love to have a mod I could use for my own personal enjoyment in the next 10 years of waiting around. I realize some of the things I find entertaining could be frustrating to other players. For example when it comes to the timed quest, my idea was to time myself sprinting to the objective to make sure I have just enough time to clear the quest. Even if the goal is not hard to achieve in the end, that sense of urgency would be enough to make it more enjoyable to me personally. On subsequent playthroughs, I found myself forgetting that the quests were even timed in the first place, so that's where the idea came from

it's a mix of Zelda and Dragon's Dogma. You start off as a fighter with a bunch of sword and shield skills, then you get the bow item (like in Zelda) which you can use as a magic bow withit's own, multiple skills (like in DD). And the same goes for the grappling hook, which instead of that is an item that has some skills from the mystic spearhand to push yourself towards stuff or pull enemies towards you. So by the end you'll be fighter + magic archer + mystic spearhand all at once, plus all the tools you have like bombs, holy water and whatever I can come up with. There's a quick slot item bar at the bottom so using those items should be quite seamless, no need to pause and enter the menu

Can't really say, but in my current playthrough I'm level 35+ and I've been getting 1-2 hires every day and her pawn quest usually isn't completed which I guess means they aren't just hiring purely for rewards (but also maybe because Chimera's are relatively rare).
For comparison my level 100+ pawn barely gets hires nowadays, even with 5 Allheal Elixir as rewards. So 50-70 seems safe. I'd probably cap it at 70 if you plan on hiring /ddg/ pawns without spending too much RC.

I'm at a point where I'm considering to cap off my pawn's level before going to Battahl. So lvl50-70 sounds like the sweet spot for that since I near over-leveled myself in Vermund alone (I'm at 63). I've heard other players do the same thing but I don't know how they do it while still bringing their pawn along on quests without gaining any experience.

I'm trying to go vanilla-free mods on my first playthrough but looks like there's no other alternative but to use one. Fucking Capcom, this should've been a feature in the game like a ring that allows you to completely stop exp gains instead of having to use a third-party software. Anyway thanks bro. Well, there's a drake down in the "valley" but the statue itself is on top of this plateau the character is on, the statue points to the other side (which you cross from the 2 stone bridges, fight a cyclops, and then a griffin (might have been random)) and then you reach the campfire, it's positioned above the drake on the cliffs, in fact i avoided the drake entirely. To the right of the campfire is a collapsed entrance (the one stone arch with the mound of earth inside it, you know the (((one))))
