theres no actual reason to even build a windmill in this game tbqh>but but my iron bloomsok in singleplayer you only need to work a stack of blooms manually to build everything in the game. in multiplayer you can have several people work 16-32 blooms manually over the course of weeks and have plenty of wrought iron. or you have xcrack where high level metalsmithing trivializes manual bloom working anyway, plus working blooms manually is the cheapest way of powerlevelling xskills metalworking skill
