Ended up leveling 14-17 while another party tried to overcamp us and didn't level once in that 1 hour. Game is extremely easy with low expectations and learning/growing with a group is tons of fun. Nothing more joyful than hearing the WHM scream with a 50 MB Aero.
There's this content in CatsEyeXI that I really like, it's called incursion. There are three zones that are Tier 1 which start at level 8, and then each time you fulfill an objective, unlock, and kill a boss your level cap goes up two levels until you're level 16 by the end. One of the zones is Fort Ghelsba, and you'll do a round around the beginning area, kill 20 orcs, and then kill a boss. Then you're level 10, you kill 20 more orcs and do a boss and you're level 12, this whole thing takes about 45 minutes and you end up getting a whole mess of experience, like way more than you'd get in a dunes party. Plus you get a bonus for completion and this currency you can use to make exclusive weapons. IDGAF about the rest of CatsEye, but I want something like this in a normal-ish server.
