Did a recent playthrough on HC as a NE druid on the new server, 100% comfy. twow is easier than retail hardcore. Feral is OP and endgame balance is kind of like wrath.

Eh, I dunno about others but I'm happy to play a few months even if it gets shut down. Whenever I get into WoW again I usually give it up after I get tired of raids so it would just be speeding up the timeline a bit if my 60 got deleted tomorrow. I'll move on to something else.

Hardcore is the only good thing about Turtle WoW but it's so easy compared to retail classic.
Other than HC, it's worse than Warmane in every metric.

t*rtle really didn't do anything to make the end-game more interesting. There is not much to do and the thing that there are to do can't be done at certain times of day. All I have left to do is get the best gear from raids, but there are not enough players online at this time of the day to do raids. I can't maybe do one a day.
Outside of the raiding window I log in and I walk around and realize I have nothing to do. I could grind for gold which is extremely boring but what do I do with gold? There is nothing to spend it on. I could buy some potions I guess, but I don't need them.

It was the same when you reached 60 on vanilla though, the game always split off between raidloggers and people who enjoy either farming various things or chatting with people in-game. Personally I am getting bored of even raids, what is the point of them besides getting better gear? It stops being fun once you can run it without a wipe each week, I'm grateful but confused that raid leaders even exist, although they might have more fun since they handle more stuff than just clicking your button at the right moment. Raids feel like finishing a game and then sticking around for post-game optional content only with the extra layer of having to deal with people squabbling over minor issues.

Yeah I have a few HC players in the guild I raid with, but honestly I think I'm just tapped out. I always just raid a few months and then give up WoW until next time I'm interested, it was fun leveling at least.

For me it's the leveling zones. Endgame is always lame on classic wow because the only thing to do is raid. Leveling is the adventure where most of your hours are spent and where you get new experiences

been on turtle several years and enjoyed my time on it playing hc mostly.
tried getting into the endgame stuff but agree with most points here.
raid gear? it's to kill other players, except the pvp on turtle matches most of wow.
ambershire split the small pvp community anyways and the release changes also killed world pvp so defending what's left is defending the 1 or 2 BGs i've been playing for 20 years now.
twow's balance for pvp is by continually alternating buffs to paladin and shaman while leaving the majority of other classes to be the non-hero classes they are unless you're mage or warlock.
the new server also split the already dogshit esl rp scene.
so while i enjoyed my time on turtle, assuming it stays on its current trajectory of pvp balance or server shutdown, i wish i spent the time on guild wars instead where i can take a 10 year break and still have a home to return to.

The biggest problem is a lack of choice. When you are leveling you can go where you want. Don't like this leveling zone? I'll just go somewhere else. Don't like this quest? Not doing it, I'll do something else. Don't feel like doing quests, I'll farm this material to get my profession up and I'll get some exp out of it.
Every time you play you got something done. A little exp, a little gold, a little better gear and for gear you have many options.

Then you get to max level and there is only one thing you can do. If you don't want to do it you have nothing. There is one piece of gear you can wear. There is one quest you need to do. Zero flexibility, no choice. Don't like it? Uninstall the game.
In the leveling stages nothing like that happens. I don't have to be optimal, if I don't get some good piece of gear here I'll get it somewhere else.
