Take for example this one between shelly and sprout, I could be talking out my ass but in just this one alone can somewhat infer that sprout could be annoyed with her facts with the second line, that sprout will ONLY listen to the facts if he gets to have cosmo along (likely to talk to while phasing out the prehistoric facts), and that shelly is in general oblivious to all of this because she thinks toons listening to her spout facts 24/7 is them being interested in her when its the opposite and that nobody telling her its annoying makes her continue to do it. It gives me the vibe that, despite reading that sprout and shelly are friends, that its a bit more one sided and sprout views her as just an acquaintance. Of course I could just chalk this up to autism but it feels too on the nose to be so.

Look at any piece of DW fan-art and you'll find either one of these evident. Usually not explicitly porn, just very EPI-esque, "new-wave safe-horny" character redesigns, like making the ornament terminally obese because body positivity or some shit. Hell, that's why pretty much every "tooner" is here, because they find the characters sexy.
