You may want to even consider running a Fast Casting mod so you can cast death nova even faster. If you are running boon of creation you should have plenty of energy.

Both Factions and Prophecies have quests many more hours deep into campaign before they can change professions.

Something I really like about GW1 is that it doesn't have much in the way of the typical MMO number inflation, or subsystem bloat that just spins wheels but doesn't do anything beyond add damage. We have an unofficial rule to limit buying skills until you reach where they would normally be unlocked (Skill trainers have a feature where, if you unlock a skill from Ember Bay, you can then buy it at Ascalon on your new character). Proph progs tend to have high retention of players despite several slow missions due to the progression of skills. While Faction progs tend to have high participation in the first few weeks, but fall off a cliff toward the end as you unlock every skill in game when you reach Kaineng. NF progs just struggle to get and keep people engaged for similar reasons. Next thread we'll be discussing our future plans for our Factions prog starting early January.

So about 2/3rds of Proph is mostly a difficulty ramp to the final 1/3rdFactions just instantly slaps you with a wall, and then you climb that wall and there's another wall, and then you climb that wall but like a bucket of crabs Togo grabs your leg and pulls you back down with him.I honestly find NF very easy. enemy party comps are better designed but they aren't as bullshit as factions, and their skill bars aren't as well designed as proph enemies. Most of the difficulty comes with designing your own hero AI.

At 7 resto magic you're basically getting either 4-8 pips of healing depending on if they're in range of the spirit. Though I'm honestly not sure it's worth dumping +3 into resto for only that skill. You're better off just going all in on channeling and running caretaker + some sort of item. Or dumping all of that into air magic for glimmering pressure. If you're determined to still use resto magic take points out of spawning power. 10 spawning power does you very little other than make bloodsong slightly harder to kill, and add maybe 3-4 seconds onto Warmonger's and put more into resto.You can make xinrae's work, but you need to put way more investment into resto magic.

Also has the option to be a caster using magic from other classes, but it's a bit niche and relies on very specific key skills to function.Mesmer mindrapes enemies and manipulates their skill usage (interrupts, punishes, slowdowns etc) and energy resources, or can just do a bunch of damage in various ways. Lots of spamming spells and reacting to/countering specifically what an enemy is doing.Just read carefully what your skills and attributes actually do, and experiment with builds yourself. Prophecies especially has a slow learning curve and will gradually increase the amounts of skills you have available so you have plenty of time to learn them all as you go. Just avoid investing into more than 2 or 3 different attributes at once and you'll be fine.
