I just realized it's been over 5 years since I enjoyed a multiplayer game

Every game I've played in recent memory I just did because it was fotm I had to give a shot at, I wanted to complete some battlepass progression get fomo drops, pointless rank chasing and playing because I had no other game to play

Give me your best recommendation to bring my joy back

I quit games altogether. Anything live service is a soulless cash grab. Most single player stuff is too busy pandering to someone to be actually good, and that aside most of it is incredibly poorly written regardless. Get out and start restoring your dopamine response to its natural state, unless your idea of the good life is following a pixel carrot on a stick for the rest of your life.

It is, now tell me some games.

what turns you off about games?
Here's some games that brought me back to life that I love that came out recently
>Against the Storm (Singleplayer)
Roguelite City Builder. It's addictive and the systems in it work so well together. You will be confused a little at the start but it'll click if you give it time. I also love the OST. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtA1BAeeOAE
>Abiotic Factor (Multiplayer but I played SP mostly, it is fun with friends the 20~ hours I played it with them)
It's Half Life 1 with Survival Crafting Elements. This is probably my favorite game ever. It feels exactly like exploring Black Mesa. I love the world in this, there's a ton of emails and voice recordings talking about what's going on. The basebuilding is very fun and satisfying and the map is incredible. The way it slowly opens up more and more as you explore and interconnects is awesome. You will spend 8 hours exploring and then finally walk back to where you feel safe and then spend another 8 hours building a base. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAvH9T__jLQ
>Voices of the Void (Singleplayer)
You run a signal recording station out in the deep boonies. It's a really busy work game where spooky shit happens to you while you search the night sky for alien signals. If you like doing little granular tasks like turning knobs and driving an atv in circles to write down numbers from computer terminals and scrubbing dirt off walls this game is very good. It's also a free game you have to get on Itch.io
>Elden Ring Nightreign (Multiplayer)
They put a roguelike element in my Elden Ring as well as a better sprint and ledge grab. I need to play the dlc still but I heard they didn't even add any new weapons with it.

Arma can be good. No battlepass FOMOslop, anyway.
The main thing that ruins modern multiplayer is that the players are now universally retarded.
Proximity voicechat was also a mistake.
Part of this is just aging out of the modern gaming target demographic that has nothing more valuable to spend than their time. Today's popular MP loops are cooked up in a lab to get you addicted to wasting your life on grind mechanics.

wow thanks for naming the top 20 most well known games :DDDD

literally the only games I enjoy lately are singleplayer games cause i'm not expected to fucking do some bullshit or join a guild. I fucking hate guilds and I hate being expected to do a shit ton of damage. I miss when games just had guilds as something that wasn't necessary.

>These games are bad because they aren't made for anyone.
>But the other games are also bad too because they are made for someone.
>Therefore nothing is good because I must pick the position of enjoying nothing by everything being beneath me to feel intelligent and special in denial of being shallow and dumb, and must voice this on the internet at every opportunity in my desperate pursuit of attention and validation.

Yea Western games are w0ke and souless slop. What you need to do is play old games, Asian games, and the occasional Indy.

Also pick another hobby to supplement, Im doing 3D printing and Miniature painting. Join a gym, etc. Dont let the enemy demoralize you, just fix your problems, and fix your life.

He is literally a rabbi who taught in synagogues lol. Don't fall for the Esau Gambit. His cult teaches it's god's plan (((they))) enslave the world

>Irrelevant christcuck conversation

I'm with >>2141602 though. Particularly on Asian games. Their devs typically do a better job at focusing on gameplay than Western studios who heave been obsessed with cinema and spectacle for at least 20 years. Considering 90% of them are Hollywood rejects and computer science majors with no creativity, this makes sense.

For multiplayer games, the one thing they can't do right consistently is anything outside of MMORPGs. They don't make as many action games over there, so you're not gonna find a good CoD equivalent or anything

eveyone i disagree with is a dev

>>2141643
pretty much
>>
>>2105516
People need to come together to bring multiplayer games back under their control which is why I advise only playing private servers. The live service model is a failure. Make gaming a hobby again.
>>
>>2142350
yeah everything feels monetized and dopamine skinner box instead of organic fun interactions

Ah, its a real mystery why you are such a joyless shit-eating loser. I cant see why, gaming wouldnt be fun anymore to you. But i recommend finally doing the jump to Heroin.
>>
>>2144579
You seem like seething dev. Why are you angry your business model is working.
>>
No one has said DayZ yet? Sure it's a walking sim but the interactions with the people you do find can be gold
>>
>>2105516
avoid competitive stuff, it's been shoved into a global matchmaking void which won't be changed until the background hum of the universe equalizes.
They're no longer designed to be fun and they never will be, they're made to be """engaging""". Play co-op or play single player stuff. Some games with optional multiplayer might still be fine but you usually need friends for those so it's the same as the co-op. You can redeem a genre but not the community. This is the best you can hope for at this point, to truly revert it you'd have to put a whole economic system in reverse and it's not built for that nor is the animal that set it in motion. Go read a book instead.
>>
>>2105516
Craftopia and palworld were fun for a while, anything gacha or loot crate is trash anymore.

That is only because of professional false prophets like the man described in "The Incredible Scofield and His Book"

NTA, but memories of what Star Citizen could have been by now are pretty powerful.
Joss Whedon Browncoats were once a grand theme inspiration, before the neon dress-up years.
To this day, I can not wear a shiny brown coat over any space suit, or a silly wool Jayne Cobb hat stuffed into my helmet.
