(unlike at launch when they basically didn't even exist)

I think I’m nearly done with Exile 2.20 hours in and it’s been like a rollercoaster than has fallen off the tracks multiple times. It was an interesting experiment playing it alongside Diablo IV, both of them for the first time. The objective winner though is clear: Exile just can’t keep up with the narrative and combat pace of D4.Having no narrative hook to drag you through the game feels awful. Combat is a mess in anything other than boss fights, which are well done for the most part. D4 could learn the most in this area.Builds are paper thin in Exile 2. There are so many systems and upgrades that offer the illusion of depth but have nothing going on. The attribute tree is a meme.I realise now why D4 feels so good to play moment to moment, its because they removed all the RPG cruft of having stat cutoffs for gear and identifying them, instead letting the player immediately experiment with respeccing skills and changing equipment.I’m only posting about it here because it’ll get drowned out in /poe/ or /v/. Better to let you guys know your game is objectively the better one.

There are 4 altars around the continent which consume these, when you get all 4 purified parts and feed them to the respective altar a ???? portal opens. Inside you'll fight all 4 lesser evils (2 at a time) and when you kill them you get a spark, ascendance tribute, a meh mount trophy and a whole bunch of ancestral legs/uniques. Doubt it's redoable, dunno if you can party up for it either.
