i was just thinking of a game that sounds super cool in my head but i dont know how well it would be received.this is mostly just a thought experiment for me as i dont have the means to build such a game.for the sake of gauging interest, imagine the game has the best game designers that know what most players wantit would be essentially an mmo where you're on a scale model of earth or an earth-like planet where the world starts at the stone age and ends at present day technology.it would combine several aspects of many of my personal favorite gameslike EVE: Online, it would have a player run simulated economy where production, logistics, manufacturing, and war would be completely player runlike CIV it would feature technological progress bound to the strength of your economylike Foxhole it would be at least a 30 day experience where players pick a faction and work to progress their factionyou would build predetermined buildings that have inputs and outputs relevant to your economythe granularity of individual materials i havent thought of yet (eg. are computers made of circuit boards and metal? or circuit boards, processors, displays, metal, batteries, etc etc)factions would be able ot engage in resource wars to claim various important resources that become available throughout the agesvarious political/economic systems should arise organically through the players (eg communism, democracy, fascism, but realistically a player run civilization/faction wouldn't fit into any particular box)the goal determining the faction that wins each "wipe" (you could say) would be near total global hegemony, say a combination of reaching end stage technology and also being >60% of the worlds total economic output.
>>2156001Need some clarification before giving my opinion. Is the player going to be in charge of a single character that belongs to a large, player run faction, or is the player going to be in charge of an entire civilization/group of people within a civilization? Also, is this going to be running on real time, or will the game time be faster than real life time? And finally, how long is a wipe supposed to last?
>>2156001Something like this would cost so much money to implement, i imagine it would be like Bofuri or Overlord's world and have taxed PC/NPC run shops(buildings) that buy/sell and a general bazaar for offline players like a black market. It would have to be a perpetual mmorpg, because i don't think people would want to go through a bunch of effort to set up an economy on a temporary server.
