i've been fucking around with spriting for a few days now, and i think i made a breakthrough while making shrimpo.in this picture are the four different states of my sprite development. the first head sprite is my initial attempt at making shrimpo's head, which sucked. version 2 sucked less, and i used it for the third sprite, which is the first iteration of the proper art i wanted to do.then, while i was fucking around and wasting my time, i had an epiphany. i figured out a way to give shrimpo's head the natural curve that it has, and make it look 10x better. so, i edited things and came up with the fourth sprite, which is the true finished product.i've been making a lot of breakthroughs lately in regards to my art, and i'm very happy with myself. i wish the rest of you drawfags the best of luck as well.

Hey did Qwel ever say somewhere exactly how random matchmaking pairs players, or does someone know how it mostly works? I tested it between a couple accounts and I've gathered it strictly just goes by number of toons owned.Don't think it accounts anything else at all, like playtime or trinkets owned or the Ichor cost of your owned toons. You can have an account with 2-3 Main toons but almost exclusively get starter lobbies if you only own like 6 or less toons, and you can own only all Common/Uncommon toons and get put into Main toon runs if you have around 10 or more owned toons.I made like 2 alt accounts during the Christmas event and randomly felt like using them to test this. It was also just pretty fun being able to take lobbies full of Poppys and Boxtens upwards to the tens/fifteen-ish floors because having one single Vee or strong distracting toon helps so much.There was also a terrible stretch I experienced in the 8-10 owned toons area where there's just so many Pebble/distractor players trying so hard to be the most godlike player right out the elevator and then quit immediately on Floor 1 when they run into a twisted blindsiding them at a doorway. Honestly more of a headache than playing the starter lobbies with all the babies running around like headless chickens.

i decided to make a couple of ocs. they're siblings, stratus is the younger one and violet is the older one. violet's sort of tomboyish and outdoorsy; she's a botanist who's basically a living encyclopedia when it comes to plants. she's literally built to be in the outdoors, and yet, she's forced to remain cooped up within gardenview.stratus on the other hand is more shy and introverted. he can create and control storm clouds, but his control over them wavers depending on his mood. he was literally designed to have chronic depression, so sometimes, he just hangs out in one of gardenview's less trafficked areas and lets his weather rage around him while he tries to deal with his emotions.things aren't all bad for him, though. he's a music nerd with a rather sizable collection of records, and he also composes his own songs in his spare time. he also owns a rather expensive synth he was gifted one christmas.

Is thread activity actually on a downward trend? It's a fun game but I can imagine the people who've already been here for months might start running out of things to talk about.The game and franchise itself looks like it'll just keep getting bigger and that's pretty exciting. Player count's high, they're steadily releasing merch and Qwel's YT is actually being used for shorts and animations now (when I started playing around the Christmas update, she hadn't uploaded anything in over a year but now she's uploading a good chunk of promo stuff). But if no new toons or updates are gonna be happening until Easter at the earliest, then yeah I dunno. Not that I doubt you handful of fanatics could keep this place going even if there's no updates for months.
