Smiter's Boon EditionGW1 just received it's first major balance patch in nearly 13 years, the original balance dev returned after having left anet years ago solely to nerf smiter's boon again to sate his unquenchable hatred of smite monks. Based. https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Feedback:Game_updates/20260205We have a /vm/ guild that has been running near weekly events for over 3 years now with over 60+ logins in the last week in our alliance for anyone interested in doing endgame content, new players are always welcome and no prior experience is needed.>>2209898 Previous ThreadCanthan new year finally concluded today, our sponsored district was a great success with more than 20+ alliance members and at least 5-10 thread lurkers showing up. Overall great success and fantastic turnout, we'll definitely have to do this again next year. The ass prog continues every sunday at 2 PM EST. We might potentially try to flip an outpost on feb sat 21st if borders look good, otherwise we'll do a HM DoA or regular HM deep run that day.If you want to join guild, post your IGN.Useful linkshttps://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Pagehttps://www.gw-memorial.net/https://gwpvx.fandom.com/wiki/PvX_wikihttps://wiki.fbgmguild.com/wiki/Main_Pagehttps://party.gwtoolbox.com/https://kamadan.gwtoolbox.com/https://ascalon.gwtoolbox.com/https://hom.guildwars2.com/en/#page=welcome>New player and not sure what profession to run?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSQQe_3P1P0>Returning player from 2005-2007 era? so what will the other god badges be?Balthazzar probably for being undefeated in PVP after having won like 10 arena matches in a row, less matches in a row for GvG or alliance battles, have it gain numbered ranks for however many matches in a row you've done since the last time you died in PVP.

reposting in new thread>>2228378Make soul bind work on more than just direct healing nerf its damage if you need to. Reduce cast time for orders, soul leech, vampiric spirit, mark of subversion, barbs, soul barbs, wither, ect. Buff lingering curse anti heal to 33%.
>>2230086PvP badge would be interesting
I think balthazar should be related to fow and grenth uw respectively. like for example cheap tactics like blinding enemies dont work on the aatxes and like maybe the smite crawlers have a permanent spell breaker, with the idea of, actually making UW and FoW challenging again instead of a mindless place to grind ectos or obsidian, and most importantly only player characters can join it, like it used to be before heroes were implemented.might even open up the game in a way to promote people to actually make groups for content again.
>>2230127???
>>2230034Kek
has anyone tried the new controller support? I somehow doubt that you can make it work in high level areas, where you need to micro your heroes.
>>2230086nah, wouldn't make sense for PvP desu, I think balthazar badge would be PvE players are now affected by the monthly PvP flux. That could create some cool implications for builds.Perhaps if the entire party is balthazar badge players, the zone is instance is under PvP balance.
Will 8 rit teams be a thing in pve now? Are rit sisters free of the false sos/st dichotomy?
izzy heard the scratching noises coming from gw's coffin and opened it up to pinch off a loaf inside before bolting it shut
Why are people complaining about the balance update? They're buffing rarely-used skills, this is what I hoped for when they announced reforged
>>2230281Some of the buffs are super broken, like Consume Soul.
>>22302328 man rit PvP teams are now a thinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=104ccDXixTU>>2230281A lot of the changes are good, or at very least interesting, most of the complaining comes from the PvP crowd. Specifically the pious restraint change. Pious restraint was already a super meta pick for dervs used primarily by GvG crowd because it was a ranged cripple skill you couldn't dodge. The counter play was to run a cripple shield, or a condi removal and get out of range of the derv, but with the current change a derv can now cripple spam you faster than you can cleanse it.There was a lot of PvP changes to derv especially that were already semi meta picks that saw frequent use in PvP (not PvE) that now make dervs even more annoying to deal with when they were already a staple of any PvP team.
>>2230294>8 man rit PvP teams are now a thingI know. I mean pve.
>>2230295Unlikely desu, consume soul armor ignoring damage is single target and only a buff of about 10~ damage. The reason it's meta in PvP now because 80 extra damage is enough to 3-2-1 instant kill spike <600 HP players. 1000 HP PvE enemies laugh at this. DwG is still the better elite for 8 man rit team (if you wanted to try one for PvE).
>>2230294this kind of shit is why i don't even try to play or give 2 shits about pvp, bunch of sweaty tryhard basement dwellers running the same skill and just spamming it cause it's broken now.
>>2230354>that's why I play PvE with 4 esurge mesmers running the exact same broken buildsJokes aside, this is always the case with every PvP game in existence, always has been even as far back as 2005 (IWAY).The fun part of GW1 is there are so many skills and the game is pretty well balanced that you can have natural strategies arise that hard counter this. It's easy to take one look at this video and assume it's unbeatable when in reality this team had so much stacked up for it.The map they picked specifically benefits anyone who can win the 8v8 fight in the center, fall back gives them the movement to easily collapse any split attempts. On a map like frozen isle, this team likely falls apart because it can't do split strats at all. What's more, once people become aware of this strategy it's pretty easy to make preparations to counter it, simply running a high HP set is probably enough to stop the spike from working entirely. The newly buffed fertile season (raises max HP of everyone) also probably fucks this strategy up. Alternatively using the growing popular spiritgay set up Union is a HARD counter especially with Shelter. Hell all you need to do is get a lucky Diversion off and the entire comp falls apart. But when you're not expecting this it's easy to be taken by surprise by a strat you've never seen before. Nobody expects 8 ritualist dive bombing their team at max speed.

>>2231865Tahnnakai temple we wiped 4 times on the rit room. We couldn't pull the enemies and our group had no AoE other than double dragon, but it's hard to use double dragon when you eat 5 mind burns and die in a fiery explosion before you can reach melee range. We finally got lucky and managed to get a few pulls and I went Life Barrier to bond slave while managing the NPC's so they didn't run forward.and THEN we got to arborstone happened, the first run we agreed to run down the middle like men, and then we wiped so we agreed we were all woman and would take the northern path instead. Unfortunately the esurge mesmer boss spawned and absolutely fucked us, so half the group walked onto the northern path already at like 30-45% DP.And then we stood too close together and a chandelier fell on our entire group and wiped half the group. And then we kept dying to ceiling falling on us, but there was no ceiling so it must be kormir throwing rocks at us to clean up. A group of 3 oni nearly full wiped us, but we somehow managed to reach the boss room, but we accidently killed boss first, which caused Danika to leroy jenkins into a group of like 15 ele's and necros and we wiped.

>>2231950>Autistics it's pvp botters
>>2231967>>2231950no it's actually a legit PvP item, botters don't need to spend a billion gold to kill themselves a reg vamp and 4-5 super runes does that just fine.In GvG every 2 minutes on the clock all players are resurrected, so it's a legit strat to wait until the timer passes to kill them after time, so they are stuck out of the game for 2 full minutes as opposed to instant ressing. The only way to prevent this from happening is running a double vamp weapon so you can quickly kill yourself thus allowing you to base res.

is it me or does HR make Imbagon a little more braindead than usual since you don't wait to be in combat to use shouts you're using shouts off cooldown in order to keep HR up on the entire group, even there's nothing to fear, you just hit it running between groups just to have it expire to refresh HR sometimes.
>>2232251sounds like boring as shit way too high maintenance gameplay
>>2232260kindayou just mash your aoe shouts to keep HR refreshing and your team just.. does more damage because they're +4 to all attributes at all times, while also taking less damage from everything.I've done multiple vanquishes of Morostov trail today and there's that one cul-de sac that's kinda tight and pretty crowded and gave my other characters some trouble cause of how congested it is and the tight space trying to pull them out, but with my HR Para I just waded in and my team felt invincible and melted everything, 20 domination and illusion with like 16 fast casting mesmers, that have 160 armor and take 35% less damage from everything pretty much sustainable.and I just tab targeted and chucked spears shouting constantly.it also went faster because I never paused to set up shelter ahead of time, I didn't want HR to fall off of anyone (sometimes the rits and bip might have it fall off cause they lag behind to cast spirits)it goes so smooth but it's really brain dead.
>>2232251>>2232270you didnt beat the game
it only counts if you run3 necro heroes4 henchmenno cons
>>2232278Oh no!...anyway...If I'm playing a Para I'm gonna play a build that's effectivenot intentionally gimp myself just for... what?
>>2232251If you wanna braindeadmaxx, use TBs/useskill function on "they're on fire". Won't even need to think about anything after the setup just hold w
>>2232314I wasn't asking to make it even more brain dead but yeah, they're on fire is a skill I could use, just I don't have any sources of burning so I wasn't using it.
>hmm +5 strength scythe would let you use battle rage reasonably well>and /w can run whirlwind attack and save yourselves>i should write that idea down>open pawned>it's already theredone this four or five times now
>>2232316What about Anthem of Flame?
>>2232316Yeah you'd be slotting in a skill purely to make management braindead
>>2232318The best part of Alzheimer's is getting to experience things for the first time again
>>2232319well, that one might actually be a little less brain dead since I have to stop to use it, and I'm the only one who uses attack skills so for the burning itself it's no more helpful than blazing spear (I tend to use spear of redemption to clear blindness, doesn't help with blurred vision though)
I wish paragon was cool to play but it's just kinda not. Untargeted shouts feel uninteractive. Targeted ones aren't that strong. Spear doesn't feel like it does good damage ever. And then you look gay.
>>2232336It's probably the best class to play with a controller though
>>2232336everything about para was nerfed instantly. they let it be powerful in pve at least.

>>2232286Thats like saying you play mesmerway because it's fun. It's not fun it's just so op literally everyone plays it to breeze through so they can effectively turn "hard mode" into "easy mode".You aren't gimping anything you can play paragon without HR you choose not to because you arbitrarily think that you have to play it.The same kind of nigger who probably thinks dagger spam TaO ranger is the end all be all of that profession, rather than using, i don't know, a bow.You didn't beat the game, you're a nigger, and probably a turd worlder.
>>2232394>make shit up>decide the shit you made up is not only real, but everyone's doing it>get mad about itsure, whatever passes the time i guess
>>2232406Everyone does use it for hard mode because it trivializes the content. What are you smoking man or is your brain so fried you think you aren't simply copying someone else. Holy copium.
>>2232394I already did all the shit years and years ago, in fact I did it before you were even allowed to use 7 heroes. I don't need it to be "hard" every repeat time I do it.
>>2232412his point is that this game is still decently easy to solo with heroes if you do self imposed challenge: don't use mesmerway and the meta builds. and if you find the buildcrafting part of the game fun it makes the game more fun for you because it effectively creates a new meta to build teams for.and there's nothing stopping you from having mesmerway saved as a team in gwtoolbox for that one or two map you just want to trivialize and you can always swap to the meta build when pugging with other people. nothing stopping you.>>2232416but this is also true.depends if your goal is to enjoy the playthrough or get class x to max as fast and easy as possible.
>>2232425i have to make a mesmer to learn doa on so people will take me on the class i actually play. i have no interest in playing mesmer. i'm going to cheese my way through the game as fast as possible.

Hello?
>>2232658Sup. Thoughts on optimizing HB for 'of the necro' + playing with heroes w/ guaranteed bip? I think you can do way better than the pvx bar.I think Dwarven Stability and Serpent's Quickness are main bar, hear me out. Necro mod is 1e/second and the energy management spells available to monks are roughly worth 0.4-0.7e/second. I'm also of the belief that monks don't remove conditions unless they have nothing better to do. RoF can easily be substituted for Dismiss for times you think you need it. This frees up 3 slots with minimal cost.Closer-to double monk Healing Seed uptime, double the hex removal speed of a cure hex monk, synergy with RoF, more throughput on HB so the second heal that already wasn't necessary isn't missed. Optional slot = whatever prot's best for the area. Aegis has extra value and Spirit Bond slightly less value because overusage while spamming other spells has to be watched a little more. Tested it out today in EOTN dungeon runs, a vanq and also intentionally overpulling and causing a panic/potential wipe scenario against melee, caster, and mixed packs of difficult mobs w/ standard HB and this build. Feels very good so far. We'll see with harder content. Anyone have a better idea, or see an optimization you could make?
I'm angry about the what class heroes people use when they play by themselves.
>>2232662Before mesmerway I used to judge people for which heroes they picked for each prof.
Big dick niggas don't buy the mercenary pack and use Zhed with Star Burst instead.
>>2232498Best idea somebody has ever posted about this game.
Which plugins are actually worth it with Toolbox?
>>2232659O also if anyone tries this later 8+1 prot and 5 wilderness survival is probably the best attributes. 3 works fine but 5 gives you near perma uptime with 5 seconds of downtime that usually takes place between pulls. Perma SQ is not worth the investment.
>>2232684>One click team loadouts>Access to chest with key bind in outpost>Better fast travel>Better minimap>Better controls for sending items to storage>Mass ID/salvage>One click hero flags>Mass material buy/sell>Hide learned skills at trainers/skill cap>Hide gearset items from vendors>Hide white drops for other players both on field and in chat>Hide annoying automated messages in chat>Armory to test out gear+colors>Automatic pcon (re)use>Psychically deleting that one anons headpiece
>>2232659Idk monk that well but doesn't dismiss still function as a heal if they're enchanted
>>2232708yeah that's why the build basically works the same if you swap RoF for it. you could even put draw conditions there. the first optional on the pvx build is already borderline not needed and a lot of people already use it as a flex slot, with sq you definitely don't need a second heal. rof's still really good because its prot and synergy with SQ. RoF really should be optional: RoF, Dismiss, Draw with RoF being the default choice.keep in mind hero team build, caster player, theres no melee who needs heavy cond removal in this build's use case anyways so other heroes on the team can suffice. i don't like taking it on monk anyways, healing prayers just has nothing better to put on its bar.
>>2232708the way i see it removing conditions is a necro or a rit or someone else's job anyways. having to bar it on the monk is last resort.
Were there ever plans to have Hero Formations? By that I mean having melee characters always run in front of me if I am playing monk, for instance.
>>2232727they should make it a butan that turns your mouse cursor into an aoe indicator with circles that show what positions the heroes will go to and then let you make preset circles with adjustable size and individually place-able positions in a menu while in outposts.probably wouldn't be hard to make it work on a deck either.
>>2232659>monks don't remove conditions unless they have nothing better to doYeah in a team full of casters, unless an area has dazed, you don't really need it. I don't bother to remove conditions other than deep wound, blind, weakness, and cripple, and that's mostly to help melee. If my caster heroes are crippled, good, maybe they'll hold still and soak up aggro while I prot them.Speaking of hex removal, I wonder about going full prot with a bar like this and take the shiny new 5e divert hexes (with 3s CD during SQ), then do team healing with your freed up Remove Hex slot to use divine healing/heaven's delight, which will be 8s cd each. Might be nice for areas that have EotN mandragors, where you can simultaneously cleanse Fevered Dreams + Dazed while hitting 200+ spot heals every 3s for 5e. Or any other place with heavy use of obnoxious hexes.

>>2232749/N for curses so you can use plague touch and/or enfeebling blood can be comfy on martials imo. You are going to get blinded a lot, and EB is only 1 energy for an extremely strong effect. Both work well with low investment into curses.

>>2232816Let me know how it goes. There's a few areas I could imagine running it over one esurge in a mesmerway team would be good
>>2232819well, they'll only use it if you're like in melee range of enemies, cause they'll use it as an attack, not just to cleanse hexes.which can be a pain in the ass when 2 of the main hexes we're talking about in that zone are deep freeze and grasping earth, making getting in melee range of them a bit of a problem, and I have to manually use it to get them to remove it from legionare or ebon vanguard assassin at least that's the way it seems. The damage is good when you're positioned right so they use it though.

>>2232867I doubt it cause they won't use it on EVAS or Summoning stones that are in melee, and there's another drawback to hero usage too, if you limp up to being in "in the area" range to 1 enemy while hexed they instantly use it to damage that 1 enemy.Basically great skill for a human mesmer, but heroes don't use it well.

>>2233367Not my problem devs could never balance the game. You are just praising a band-aid solution. The game never needed this many skills or professions. >>2233376Certain skills were definitely made to be used solely against players and never by them.

With the exception of Elementalist, most professions tolerate 10 mana costs on a couple of skills but if you go to 15 it starts going downhill. If I could guess, I would say that the total mana cost of all skills in the bar is fairly low. I think the game needed more reliable ways to regenerate mana. Especially to non healer professions.

>>2233447Something that bothers me somewhat is how much energy costs are faked by the primary profession mechanic, largely as a way to disincentivize using those nonprimary skills effectively when not on that profession. Elementalist skill costs take the presence of both energy storage and attunements to achieve a relative cost that's similar to a mesmer casting mesmer skills. Using as many 10 and 15 cost ele skills on an off profession would drain you immediately. Bow skills are higher cost than average because they expect to be used with expertise, meaning non rangers get kind of screwed. Dervish has the same thing with flash enchantments and mysticism. Monk has this but with heal strength not energy cost, and Mesmer has it with cast and recharge times. It just limits the cross class build design in a contrived way.

>>2233463not reallythey suck regardless, especially when you also have to use a preperation before every battleAlso, they not only affect you but also the enemy, so if you bring favorable winds as a bow ranger but the enemy group has 2 or more rangers, you are boosting your enemy more then you are yourself(unless you run ranger heroes but who does that unironicly?)If both the spirit and the prep go to 1 second i might consider it(maybe have expertise reduce the cast time)

Feels like a waste of 2 slots.Running prot skills is a waste if you are running an ST in this comp I would just focus on healing prayers, otherwise you are spreading your stats too thin (needing at least 6 points in wilderness, no less than 7 in protection prayers, and you're missing out on raw divine favor healing while playing Healing Burst which is somewhat reliant on divine favor really feels bad).Ironically I actually like this build better without Of Necro and instead with a 20% enchanting mod cause you could afford to stick on Selfless Spirit + serpents quickness can almost give you 100% uptime on casting discounted spells, I might have to try that later. I would swap Shield of Absorption with Seed of Life (I prefer it over Healing Seed, especially if you're playing Healing Burst and you're expecting to have decent Divine Favor).Another anon mentioned condi's aren't super important in a caster team which I agree with. its meant to replace the resto rit/necro in mesmerway. yeah ua/hb slots in better than a hybrid but they're just really boring to play. some prot spells are still pretty effective with a st on team, you just have less choices.look at the non zei-ri version of the n/rt on mesmerway. the discussion page says half the skill bar's just filler because there's nothing better to put there. and the caster version of the rit on merc mesmerway has a bunch of damage spells that don't impact the functionality of the team to drop. its not like the prot spells are taking up all that much opportunity cost. just the attribute points.

I wish I knew anybody who would try and play MMOs with me.
>>2234925My friends play MMOs but they're all playing crap like Dreadmyst and BDO.
I only played GW instead of WoW because my parents refused to pay a monthly membership. I appreciate them for that. All of the WoW retards ended up being literal losers in life.
>>2234930Jokes on you, I'm a loser in life too
My IRL and scape friends are all long time GW2 fags who quit because they don't like the state of the game but they won't even give GW1 a try. >>2234930mom and dad got me my own phone line and dual isdn then eventually a t1 line man the world was nice before 9/11 and 2008.
>>2234934i briefly had my own phone line in the early 2000s for a short time. i was probably 11 or 12.i talked to my childhood best friend at the time, this kid i played pokemon league with weekly at the books a million, and these two girls i met off neopets.
Guild Wars?
>>2234934GW1 is a considerably different game, where people actually have party roles to play instead of every profession being homogenized into something that can do a little bit of everything.Take this with a grain of salt; I stopped playing GW2 like 6 months after launch.
>>2234947I stopped playing GW2 like 60 minutes after beta.
>>2234940I still talk to some of my eq and scape buddies from the early 2000's thanks to finding them again in game. Only have had 1 person on my old GW1 friends list come online, he never quit and played this whole time minus two tours in Afghanistan. Neither of us really remember each other though.
>>2234947I unironically could not level to Max on GW2.
>>2234948Same. Like many others I was already playing better MMO's and GW1 was my side hoe BECAUSE it isn't a MMO.
>>2234947i completed whatever the storyline was when the game first dropped and never came back unfortunately i never came back to gw1 either because i assumed the whole franchise was near deadnow things are comfy again
>>2234948I maxed out, but I never beat the original campaign because the endgame zones were devoid of players.
>>2234947There are designated roles in endgame dungeons and a little bit of build variety but everyone misses the fully customizable skill bar.I've played a decent amount but what keeps driving me away is how grindy everything is. The entire gameplay loop is focused on grinding resources to dump into crafting lines, which is required for any of the actually fun high level content.
while I could use froggy scepters... I think I'll pass on pugging zb and just do vq's this week for more coins and less stress dealing with pugs
>>2235136we can speedrun frogland any time
>>2235136i just solo the eotn dungeons theyre easy
>>2235149yeah and I have multiple 500 coin vanquishes in zones that give rep I need still so.. I'll do those
>>2235160I generally have less stress doing the same but sometimes I do zb pugs just to pretend like I still will play with people

>Wand wrapping of the assassincan wands even crit?
>VQ Sacnoth Valley that I had in my log from before>400+ enemies down cleaning up the Charr stronghold killing all the bosses for 450 rep a pop>finish>have covered everywhere>Vanquish is still on at like 430 enemies>... the fucking pop up worms near Ragnar's count.
>>2235306if it pops up, it countsif it does not pop up, it does not count
>>2235308yeah was just annoying cause I did check and thought I'd gotten them all but there was 1 I never saw apparently, I got a rampage bonus around that time followed by a time bonus so I didn't stop to check as thuroughly as I could have I guess I rushed for big packs.
idk man ctrl+alt+click just sends my items to storage
got some magmas today. q10 and q13. both str. soon i must return to kamadan to seek pick seller. i hate wild blow so much it's unreal.
I specifically quit GW2 over the downed mechanic.because downed is seen by the devs as just another combat state like stun and they just imagine you always being surrounded by other players to pick you up, they thought it fair to make it so that getting downed in 1 shot in a clusterfuck of particle effects so you couldn't even see telegraphed attacks was normal.Because obviously you just have other players kneel for 2s and pick you back up.But it's simply not funand you'd get downed and the boss would plant an aoe field right on top of you that you couldn't get out of.this also happened in story instances where yeah, most people don't run those in groups, and the NPC's are hit and miss whether they will res you or not. Sometimes you'd get downed because your'e surrounded by ranged characters each 1 of them 1 shots you to downed, (2 shot if you built "tanky", another thing that bothered me, building tanky was never worth it), and if they're all on you, 2 dodges and 30-60s cooldowns are just not enoughSo you get downed, your NPC's are too busy.. doing almost no damage, so you try to bandage, and a ranged mob interrupts it, you get hit not that often to give you hope you'll be able to rally, but the eneies are not close enough to dying to rally off them and your bandage keeps getting interrupted.Sou you're just stuck in this crippled state for a long fucking time slowly dying.Yeah fuck that game.I tried to like it for years, and ultimately it's shit cause of that 1 stupid mechanic they stole from left 4 dead.
>>2235356There's a ton of design in gw2 that feels very 2010-2011 zeitgeist. The downed mechanic, the "decide YOUR story" shit, the zombies and really generic fantasy setting, forcing steampunk into the setting (for some reason making the steppe horde analogs being the race to do so), not-harley quinn tier villain writing.
zeitgeist sure was a documentary
>>2235384see I was fine with a lot of it, the way they rebranded Charr included (I tried to like playing them but the running animation looked terrible on them unless they had swiftness at all times). But downed? I always hated that.the branching story I actually liked to a degree because it gave replay value to not have the same thing across every alt.But then after the initial main story, it was the same thing every alt.SWTOR and TESO kinda tried that too, multiple main stories to keep things interesting and then... well, every expac was 1 linear story for every character all previous choices no longer mattered.
I'm just now hearing that energy degen via maintained enchantments doesn't care about overcast. Meaning it'll first eat the energy that's currently blocked by overcast before you ever go below your exhaustion. However, as soon as you cast something, it'll degen from your current, now that it's below the limit
>>2235356in wvw they will do "no down state weekend" sometimes. it makes blobs even more powerful cause they just vaporize everything and dont have to "secure downs" anymore. they did at least get rid of down state traits cause who the fuck is building around being downed
>>2235396right the problem there is that they designed downed as being a normal expected combat state, that's why they gave it a skill bar, made it easy to recover from, and made traits for it.Devs had a disconnect from their audience, devs expected it to be a normal part of everyday play like any other condition, but players see it as "slow death".But because of this expectation by the devs, that downed is just a normal state you can recover from, everyone is super squishy, very glass cannon, and you had limited ways of dealing with incoming damage.when they remove downed, but the scaling of everything is still so squishy.. it just makes things worse.
ugh.only 2 profession upgrades I got today are 2 wand wrappings of the assassin.pretty pointless
>Historical Gold Pricing: The classic "2k to 5k" (2,000 to 5,000 gold) price point is largely considered obsolete for dedicated runners due to inflation, though it is still sometimes used by newer players or within friendly guilds.Inflation... for drok's run????
>>2235495How do you farm for profession upgrades
>>2235496yeah for dedicated runs like tours it can be pretty expensive. It's basically gold is devalued, a lot of players have it capped and don't want it at all. That said, a lot of runners do some runs for free, particularly Ascalon City to LA, I see that one for free or tips a lot.
>>2235509I'm not quite ready for a run and I haven't paid attention to it since a decade ago. What's the rate for Droks in 2025-2026? Is it still possible to find free ones
>>2235496Well, yeah. The people who run you want money so they can buy stuff, and if all the stuff costs more, they have to charge more to buy the same amount of stuff. On top of that, you used to be able to get full groups for runs, now you're usually running 1 person at a time. Getting 25k for running 5 people to Droks in the past was cool and all, but now that one person has to pay the 25k, inflation adjusted.>>2235511Free runs seem plentiful to me because I'm usually the one giving them out, but 10-20e is pretty typical for LA <-> Ascalon, Sanctum Cay, and Drok's runs if you can't find a free one.>>2235507Do literally anything that drops gold weapons. Vaettirs, raptors, ministerial commendation, chest runs all work decent.
>>2235507open chests in places where there is no possible armor drops, only weapons, I was just doing it while vanquishing but you can target for skins sorta, like some skins only show up in certain regions.
i've been doing bounties/vanqs and random eotn dungeons side by side with my warrior and dervish all week with identical heroes and optional skills on every map... yeah i stand by 7ws scythe > pious renewal. the dervish struggles to keep up on maps without as many mobs and its more dependent on balling every pull while the warrior just does a lot of damage no matter what. they both do more damage than the mesmers but the warrior by a higher margin consistently. the warrior uses a skill almost every auto and the dervish not as much. dervish needs time to ramp up and get adrenaline and the warrior doesn't. etc. derv obviously the better class for everything else it does tho.
>>2234750What are we counting as e-celebs?https://teamliquid.com/news/2020/05/22/communicating-the-gameHead Coach of one of the top esports teams seems pretty e-celeb relevant. GW1 was simply worked on in an era where the term "e celeb" wasn't even a thing yet, even the concept of esports was pretty new back then. Hard to be an e-celeb when our game literally predates youtube's existence, and subsequently got ceased in development within 3 years of it's birth. The only way you ever win back streamers/e celebs would be to push for esports but considering I don't even think any anet dev has played a PvP match in the last decade makes me doubt that'll ever happen. Despite this the GvG scene is actually growing.>>2234947Played GW2 for 7000 hours, the 2 games aren't even in same genre for players. I hated the PvE but the WvW was honestly a lot of fun... until they absolutely ruined it through years of neglect, bad decisions, and pushing broken features live for months at a time making it unplayable. >>2235396Those weekends were always fun because it allowed for retarded strategies to emerge and promoted actual strategic play instead of doom stacking 50 people running all tank gear, AoE spamming 20k healing per second. Frankly it should always be on, sure you're right blobs don't have to confirm downs, but in the same vein you can actually snipe people out of the blob, instead of downing someone and watching as 49 of his allies res him within 0.5 seconds.
>>2235522>open chests in places where there is no possible armor dropsWhere are those?
>>2235561A lot of places. It comes down to the mobs that the chest spawns next to. If those mobs can drop salvageable armor pieces, then the chest can. ICC is the easiest, and because it drops inscribable weapons, it can drop wands with profession mods, which will not drop in Prophecies/Factions.
>>2235572Thanks.
>>2233483Divine Favor should be changed to heal on any target ally spell, not just monk spells. It still wouldn't be a very powerful attribute, but it would at least have some novelty.
>>2234705um no? we must be playing different games then, radfield meta is long gone
I saw some running talk up aboveif there's people interested I can do a Ascalon -> Droks -> LA -> Sanctum -> Desert run for FREE this weekend
Has anyone tried playing with a controller? How playable is it really?
ya'll smoke bud?
Most collector items are really badnever noticed untill i started my Melandru's run
>>2235824Instead of a mod merchant I've always been of the opinion they should revamp collectors to all have weapons with unique combinations of mods. So if you wanted a 20/20 resto wand you just need to farm 5 kappa shells, or if you wanted a furious 15^50 +30 HP sword you just need to farm margonite masks.
>>2235829I want more greens with truly wacky modifiers."Of the [Profession]" shows they can do PvE only mods with unusual parameters, so why not spin up some new zone or dungeon with reused assets and cool boss loot?Give me a sword with +3 fire magic, where the fire magic bonus requires high Strength or something super niche. Weapons that can "break" the game, but only for certain retarded combos.
>>2235847Of the hamstorm
>>2235849fucking exactly, bro
>>2235356Actual literal skill issue. The only reason to ever get downed outside of pvp is if a retard teammate actively kills you with a boss's sticky instant death circle. And it's still a skill issue then because you should expect retards to do that (while also actively dodging your heals).
>>2235270yeahI use wand crits for energy on my Assassin MM.
>>2235356I was playing an engineer (probably would quit much later if I mained literally anything else holy fuck kits were such a retarded mechanic and it felt like poor man version of ele attunements) and used tool belt skill for Elixir R on myself moments before I got downed, it was hilarious
>>2235561Look for any zone without any humanoids, ICC as the other anon said is an easy one, Riven Earth is another, unfortunately Charr homelands all have humanoids, and Heket and Jotun and Centaurs and Tengu count so that leaves Riven Earth and Arbor Bay for Tarnished Coast (though you can target specific areas of other zones that are populated with non humanoid mobs), and for Far Shiverpeaks, well there's ICC, and I think Jaga Moraine
>>2235882yes just dodge the 1 shot that's telegraphed
>>>/vg/gw2g
>>2235941
if I don't want wand wrappings but want to farm for martial weapon and staff upgrades for professions I should probably farm factions zones huh.cause I only really use wand/focus on heroes, as with players I usually would rather have staff for the recharge on other skill line spells. I can't think of a time when I have no PVE only skill spells or no secondary attribute spells.
>>2235865I'm a little iffy on the idea. It's soft pushing certain specific builds by the devs, which is antithetical to the core concept of the game being decide your build. Being greens is definitely the right way to implement it. Mods would pollute the pool with very niche generally unusable shit
>>2235961Afaik, staff vs wand drops aren't really campaign specific. You'd still be getting OS wand drops. And you'd never get any adept/swift staff mods either.
I want some more greens that are truly unique and unreproducable period.
>>2235974true I guess you'd still get wands just not ones with wrappings.
I really should just look for some zones with no possible armor drops from chests from each possible region though. I know you can do Raisu Palace, since shirokin have no armor drops.
>>2235968Fair, and I see the risk of it reducing to "dev mandated bars", but things like the -50hp cesta and prismatic/artificer insignias have been in the game forever. Items that strongly suggest some narrow angle already exist.
Elemental Attunement should do what Master of Magic does (but keep the 50% restore rather than 30%), and Master of Magic should do all non elemental spellcasting attributes (non primary) instead, letting Energy Storage Eles have 12+ domination/illusion/death magic/restoration magic, etc
>>2236031So signet of illusion
>>2236038essentiallythe problem is Elemental Attunement doesn't have much use, as trying to actually invest in multiple elements you come up really short (the best you can do will end up with like everything at 11). and it'd just be better to use master of magic.
>>2236042EA has use as energy management, just take a second, stronger attunement. It's optimal for fire, even. There's a reason it launched without buffing your attributes.
>>2236046seems kind of a waste for single element. For pure Energy management I'd just use Assassin's Promise if I'm not gonna take any elemental damage elites
what is the maximum amount of Signets of Capture you can have?i'd like to save up about 250 of them for my melandru's badge and get the elites together with the survivor title
>>2236073It's genuinely great for fire, idk what to tell you. Dual attune fire is like the second strongest DPS ele build behind invoke air
>>2236089Ele's in that bad of a spot damage wise huh? I'm finding thunderclap to be more useful than Invoke Lightning even though the damage isn't great.
>>2236090Thunderclap is fun, but invoke easily out damages it. Dual attune fire isn't a slouch either, since you're slamming rodgort, liquid flame and incendiary bonds constantly and never running out of energy
>>2236091yes I know Invoke outdamages, but it's still not great damage (I actually wonder if invoke still outdamages echo intensity chain lightning, cause the way chain lightning jumps you really can proc intensity twice on 1 cast, it's some pretty good spike damage, but I still think the utility of thunderclap outweighs it), so I go with the utility of having an interrupt (even if a cast time on it I do manage to get quite a few interrupts with it), weakness on a pile of melees that rush at you, and cracked armor to make your chain lightning do respectable damage.
>>2236095It's really just the interrupt. Invoke+Shell Shock are basically the same, but invoke has a 1s CD vs chain lightning 2s. You lose a lot of damage with that cast time, especially since it's not like air is lacking in having spells to throw. It's a full second of zero damage
>check my hero build page first time in ages>yo add "of the necro" mods to all your niggaslooks like 6 mods
>>2235786i vape it
ive been using earth ele. easily chain knockdowns the AI and they dont run out of it
>>2236113it's bar compression to have weakness and cracked armor on one rather than shell shock and the single target weakness that probably wouldn't even get used.
>>2234023all of her guardians in life were either evil or stupid.
