https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-175786there is absolutely no fucking excuse for this stupidity, please contribute. it says starlancer but people are contributing for all ships. all means of egress from fighters are disabled specifically when you need them; in combat but before the ship actually explodes.
So, in terms of mess hall seats, what ship has the biggest possible crew?
>>2246833Without checking, Idris and PolarisIf we ignore the caps we get to a more interesting situation. Also even just thinking about that made me think how underutilized the mess halls are.
>>2246668Suffer not the Xeno to live.
>>2246960Now that I think about it, CIG is quite low iq- they could do the Xenothreat missions now them against Wikelo, so there is actual reason to be xenophobic.
Stop asking for realism because that's not the design vision.
>>2246668Have all the ships seen the engineering rework yet? I know we're at like, 130, playable at the moment?
>>2247050Everything "has" engineering at this point, but it's woefully undertuned to the point of almost being a non factor beyond ships not exploding anymore.Even ships that don't have accessible physical components have had them placed within the hull.
>TIL the armor size you wear has almost nothing to do with speed>the difference between light and heavy is tenths of a second>meanwhile the items you put on your armor weigh you down immensely>having a full loadout of stuff stuck to your armor will weigh you down by full seconds extra compared to the type of armor you wearThese people are idiots.

>>2247119>TIL the armor size you wear has almost nothing to do with speedIt took you this long to find that out?
>>2247119>chris roberts incorporates HI-SPEED LO-DRAG mechanicsA true genius and visionary. You try running around with 2x boomtube rockets strapped to your chest and 6x magazines. All while a handgun, knife, multitool, and collection of medpens dangle off your thighs. Although I do agree, armor weight class should have more of a bearing on speed than equipped items. Still going to stay kitted out and run like a slug so I can look like a badass space marine.

>>2246990go play kerbal if you want sit around for 20 minutes doing de-orbit burns. I want spaceship KINO with guns and explosions not methodically calculating thrust vectors like some weird nerd
>>2247493because the UEE is a decaying empire that has fallen into liberal democracy. it's supposed to mirror the fall of rome but it also mirrors the current day where tolerance that started as a political necessity for survival has become the goal in itself. the xi'an are literally china, the banu are literally our greatest ally. sometimes I think Haddock is trying to sneak in Fate of Empires lessons wherever he can.
>>2247369What's even more weird is that what you put in your backpack has no effect on your baseline speed. So no matter how much you have in your pockets your speed will never slow down. But as soon as you equip it on your body you will get a weight penalty.
>>2246990Ah yes. The "vision". That changes depending on what games or movies Chris has played that week.
>>2246990Oh shit so its official?I thought this was just some exploration. How the fuck do they plan to make this happen I wonder, there is 0 ways of making 6dof == ww2 dogfighting. ESPECIALLY with fucking capital ships in the mix- what are capital ships in WW2? Zeppelins already got wrecked in WW1...And even then, if this is their vision make it fucking work. Rebel Galaxy with 4 DOF has better space battles.
>>2247119AFAIK only having a machine gun matters. If you dont have an MG you run like a human being, if you have a MG you are a geriatric
>>2247493The writing in the game is trash by trash people. I do like that there are darker aspects but consider the following:Levski has existed for over 300 years, so longer than United States of America. They have a shitty planet with very little terraforming (done illegally by acciden) and a very shitty tiny station.Rough And Ready gang split off from Headhunters 17 years ago. They operate 6 stations double the size of Levski in a much more hostile environment and dealing with much more hostile people.I could go on but that was, to me - one of the funniest writing blunders in the game.
>>2247513Poorly designed, for sure. Although I'd rather have a quickly accesible multi-tool, medpen, and handgun as those three things have saved my life more than sprinting.
>>2247606UEE actively sabotages the development of Levski's infrastructure CHRIS HIRE ME
>>2247614Multi-tool healing was op, not sure now with the new medgun that heals faster. but probably still better.
>>2247621Is the medgun that good? I get into a lot of fps combat and from my experience I've found the medpens to be the fastest. I dive to cover, hit 4, stab myself, and then I'm back to 100. Multi-tool medgun used to not work for me until 4.6, now it works like a charm and I always have it with me now. Only time I ever use the medgun is to top up health outside of combat. I can see the dedicated medgun being good if you play as a dedicated medic
>>2247501>tfw inventory bug took my suit thrusters and left me stranded in space>had to methodically calculate thrust vectors like a weird nerd>it was really cool and fun and made me wish more of the game actually played that way rather than being zero effort magic positioninghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIcCOGc3zmc
>>2247623I don't think the multitool can stabilize tier injuries can it? sometimes you get the shakes or go limp in a limb or can't pull the trigger and the medgun advanced mode can drug you up to counter that for a few minutes to reach a med bed.
>>2247621The AA one? I heard they nerfed it. Also medguns give more alchohol build up while multitools do the same healing for less alchohol build up. Make it make sense.
>>2247623medgun is good, necessary for Lazarus and useful elsewhere too where you need to constantly tank. However - its buggy as hell, multitool is less buggy.>>2247641It has some sort of "advanced" mode too but yeah- supposedly you cant fix injuries with it.But last time I was doing vanduul pods months ago, my injuries just dissapeared when i was healing with it.The main reason to have a multitool medgun instead of medgun is because the exploit where someone tractorbeams your weapon off, and you spawn with no weapon. Then you at least have a pistol left.
>>2247647As I stated here>>2247654Multitool also seems to heal injuries on some random way, since they just dissappear after a while.I also forgot to mention>Medgun has a lot of bugsEveryone knows the self heal "B" bug where if you put medgun away while self aiming, next time you need to self aim twice for it to work...That issue does not exist on multitool - at all. Multitool also reloads from backpack np.

>>2247606Levski is great and internally consistent if they've been there for like 10 years tops. how long does a neon sign last? how long does it take to build a better more permanent one out of the materials that are abundant in your fucking refinery station home?

>>2247861if ever they differentiate the gangs and the stations in Pyro that would be nice to see. XT run locations should be military-pristine and efficient, if still dilapidated, while headhunters can be shit pits of garbage and despair, and rough & ready can be somewhere in between, Levski-ish. likewise the private stations that are run as small businesses (dudley's etc) should look more like a small town garage than the depths of a city dump.

Driving around in the nursa has to be the worst experience I think I've had in any game. Ever. What a fucking shit show. Some rocks are no clip. Some aren't. Some bushes that are otherwise invisible are brick walls. Small cactus and other tiny plants are concrete tank traps. >>2248681the favela runs in their blood
>>2249002every ground vehicle feels like this, nursa is actually one of the least bad. the problem is less with the vehicles and more with the terrain generation which is hot garbage and insists on spreading fucking boulders over every potentially driveable surface. hopefully genesis tech will change this, we'll see when Nyx I drops. I hope to fuck they'll go back and do Stanton and Pyro with the same tech but we'll see. They'll probably have to make in an in-universe event with a fucking resource drive attached to it.

But people can still get inside your ship if they find a gravity panel that allows them to cling to the outside, like the rearmost airlock of the Hull C.The Idris is good because it doesn't have any ledges that someone can EVA over to and squat on while waiting for you to QT. But the Kraken is literally just one large landing zone. When the Kraken finally releases everybody will want to take a look at the new ship. Which means once you start leaving a station or climbing out of atmo they will try to land on your pads and hitch a ride. Unless CIG gives it a button to turn off the gravity plates or something similar.
>>2256877with long term server stability and working jump to owned ships/friends, parking a cap ship out in the deep to use as a base it actually totally viable right now and it's fucking sick. don't really know if the system deliberately prioritizes a server where you have live assets or what but I tend to get the same server for weeks at a time currently. markers start to pile up of ships I used for one way trips and abandoned wherever. you don't think of yourself as one of those people contributing to the mess and then you see one of those and remember "oh yeah, I did ghost ride a cutter into that asteroid base and never claim it"
>>2256960>CIG was smart to finally make it so that stowaways would get booted out of the ship once you undocked from space stationswhaaaaat I wasn't aware of this, so what, you get the hangar repositioning? that's lame
>>2257128Are you saying you can park an Idris out in deep space, leave it, and reliably find and qt to it over several sessions with no bugs/errors/'it disappearing' now?I find that hard to believe
>>2257133Yeah. But only if you're on the grid while the ship is docked. If it's a ship that's moving cargo, you can swiggity swooty your way up to it and hitch a ride so long as you can find a place to stand.
>>2257434>with no bugswhere do you think we are? that said, yes, I bedlogged in my catrpillar and woke up to my prospector still sitting outside out in the halo. it was quite cozy. I wouldn't trust it 100% and probably note your server name on login and make sure you're getting the same one. I had an issue with my ship full of collected ore to refine sitting outside MIC L5 when the station was absolutely wigging out and refused to give me a hangar, and had to log about 5 times to get back to the server it was on
Just spent 350 britbongs on this game even though I think as soon as Sq42 releases CR is going to do a Steven Shariff on us. Am I retarded? Yes.
>>2258117Most hobbies are 10x more expensive, desu. Also, people spend an exorbitant amount going out drinking (maybe not zoomers). Perhaps most stupidly, people spend an EXTREME amount ordering doordash/grubhub/etc. Also, you probably got friends that have tattoos (also stupid). Going out to eat and paying for a group is like 100 freedom dollars or more. You're good, limey-bro.
>>2258117The krakenfags in scg threads (4ish of us) have spent like 1400 dollars on that ship alone. I cant represent all of us, but i can say from my own part that every single dollar over the cheapest pledge is wasted and you really shouldn't.

I don't get engineering presets.Am I meant to make a separate preset for SCM and a separate one for NAV? Or are they both in the same preset?
>>2258772SCM and NAV are both two different presets that you can change by hitting B. You can change the defaults for each present by playing with the pips while in each respective mode.
>>2258553Mostly due to Polaris loaner desu.
>>2259035>>2258553I guess ill elaborate, I am one of the people who think Polaris is much better than Perseus, and if we dont go to the bickering about pvp, its pretty objective. Polaris is a moving base and Perseus is a big combat ship.So the only reason to use Perseus is because I need to use something smaller than Polaris, but why would the logical step be Perseus? 3 manning polaris is just fine, and if I need to solo then Perseus aint the ship anyway. So I'd jump to the Corsair.I got Perseus on 2 things, Cockpit where it should be and it was supposed to be an armored gunboat - so something you would happily take to do all kinds of activities. And its not armored, and I am better off taking Polaris in most cases. Or If I must have a smaller ship - Corsair.
>>2259046"""""When""""" fighter repair comes to ship hangars, Polaris will be much more desireable on that regard too. On top of every other perk it has.Now I did not do the combat tests like I thought I would, mainly because a french org I know already did it before engineering - and Perseus can flare 4 salvo 8/10 times. Now would 8 salvo change it? Probably - but the Perseus flare is exactly same as Idris flare so its gonna get fixed eventually and I can test it then and just agree perseus is better in pvp.I still do kinda wanna test if Deadbolts can oneshot perseus since on paper they can.
>>2259046>Polaris is a moving base and Perseus is a big combat ship.isn't this exactly how they were marketed? in combat with the polaris my experience was the crewmen sit around and watch the pilot and the torpedocuck down in his basement eviscerate targets from afar, half the time it wasn't worth even finding a turret to man, while in the perseus the pilot is mostly just lining up shots for the big guns that are doing all the work. this seems totally inline with how they were pitched
>be cig>implement mothership gameplay according to anon in this thread>idris ramp is bugged and cannot be opened from the ground anymore>can't load idris in extra large hangar, the only place that is reliable to load it>if you attempt to load at dock, ship will automatically store because you took too long>spectrum reports of docking also being broken in case you still wanted to tryBravo, CIG!
>>2259172pull away from the station and do your loading, wasn't that the whole point of this exercise
Is CIG seriously doing a sale on Origin ships when most of them have been neglected for years and have glaring issues/bugs? When none of them are competitive in anyway except looking like Apple products?
>>2259517it's actually really funny to me, how accurately they represent 'luxury' brands with Origin. subpar product, way overpriced, sells out immediately anyway. all it's missing is shills in the comments talking about how we're just too poor and jealous to 'get it'
>>2259530>all it's missing is shills in the comments talking about how we're just too poor and jealous to 'get it'That slop is already on reddit a bit. That is statistically a potentially effective use for slop bot tech, however the supply of suckers may dwindle with the sloppening of the hype and the increasing visibility of the epstein economy where only those hungry for (minimum wage) work need apply..

>>2259904Cute. I shall watch.
>>2259172Am I completely crazy for remembering that back in some of the idris missions before idris was released, there was an elevator to leave idris, somewhere near the landing gear?
>>2259530>>2259517Its odd to me how badly they botched the origin ships. There are some really cool ideas there and the main idea could be something like: "You pay overprice and get the best in market ship sure to keep your CEO safe" however they cant swap components or such plebian activities.Instead, cig just doesn't know what to do with them - like always.
>>2260005they're just deprecated like all the ships of that era; made before they had any idea what they wanted to do with them long term. they might be saving them for last so they actually are the best in 1.0, the most recent designs taking all the actual, real build game systems into account. or they might just be cynical money grubbers who don't care because they already got paid.
>>2260267I think the answer to your implication is pretty obvious.I don't know when it has happened but its pretty clear CIG is monetized purely by the current thing now. Gameplay teams bend over backwards to create justifications to new ships to sell - and when they dont, the ships dont sell.
I don't know why you guys are claiming origin ships are bad. The 325a is arguably a better starter than the avenger.

>>2259255>chekt However, do you know how stupid and time consuming this is? Loading ships into the Idris in the extra large hangar is the most time efficient and least buggy method, but even that takes a bit. Also, an open Idris in open space is an open invitation.>>2260002The rear ramp has an invisible floating button at the back rear right landing strut, but it's bugged and there are spectrum posts about it being bugged, on top of docking being bugged for the Idris as well.Other anons, how is stability this patch? So far, I've only logged on to check out anons claim in this thread about abandoned ships persisting and being able to qt to them, even between multi day logout. Also, I still have all my credits and full inventory this patch, so no wipe.
>>2261416Shields making ship immune to ballistics and armor being immune to energy weapons is too complicated for cig designers to understand so it will never happen.
>>2261427Cig let it slip that they will only wipe auec so i bought all the ships and vehicles and weapons and modules in the game with my money. >>2261608interesting, the absolute state of bugs in this game.Someone gifted me 1bil, and after I bought everything I was interested in or rebought stuff I lost in past wipes, I've just been gifting people 1-10 mil to tell me their most offensive jokes in global chat.
>>2261417Are you unironically mad that I'm shitting on origin ships? They look bad and have little functionality anon. That's not my fault.
Will they EVER add a ship painter to the game? I feel like that's going to be the determining sign on whether or not the full game either is player friendly or p2w slop.
>>2261950>player friendlyAre you serious? No they're never going to add a paint picker. It will always be p2w slop. CR and CIG are in serious financial trouble. They're a billion in with no games finished. Investors are putting pressure on him which is why they've given this 2026 hard deadline for SQ42 which they are obviously going to miss. Shit is bad and they're not going to give us anything.
>>2261950Never. My guess is that they now make more money selling paints and other store slop than actual ships.
>>2261950They originally marketed one.Now they make money out of it.To be fair monetizing skins is about the best they can do as far as having fairness in it.>but they monetize everything.

It's like some collective retardation.
>>2262830>I can't believe everyone seems to be fine with Chris siphoning off all the money everyone has pledged just so he can create a garbage movie game insteadI don't know the thoughts of the diehard fans, but from what I've seen it seems like there is an unspoken agreement among devs and among most players that the game is better off with CR wanking over SQ42 so SC actually gets made.
>>2258195Are they going to put forth the >Endeavor Master Set LTIagain for the big sales? I may have missed it last year, but the version with all the attachments and shit. Long ago I remember when they were doing the different variants like the Hope-Class which came with the hospital and docking bay modules etc. Or is this something where if you get the base Endeavor and are Concierge an upgrade to the mega pack shows up?
>>2263333Why would you want that shit? It isn't releasing in the lifetime of anyone in this thread.
>>2261950I talked to a dev at one of the CitCon Bar Citizen official meetups last year and he said it is planned. Basically the "paint sets" you buy in game are sort of prefab "enough color X to paint ship Y" kits, but like many other things they'll make them available in game through play, with the exception of a handful of designs/liveries like Record Breaker (ie anyone who backed it before 5M I think or something similar.) or the CitCon specific designs etc >>2261957People have been repeating this for ages and then just move onto the next thing to complain about. Its basically like tourists claiming everyone's going to die of the vaxx in 2 more weeks and to trust the plan.
>>2263382>>2261962>>2262020As long as they're not exclusive to payment, I think its not necessarily a problem, but I do think that much like ships themselves, gear, components etc.. they're eventually going to have to cut off selling shit directly or else it will fuck up their in-game economy. You can't have a game where the price of certain ore from which a certain rare paint (be it pure white/black, or something like color shifting 'maziora' which would be neat to see) can be processed and eventually manufactured, is contending with an infinite number of players just opening their wallet and buying enough paint for them to have a giant purple/titanium shifting Idris floating around out there - it just doesn't work from an in-game economy point of view. The same way that allowing players to purchase ships outright post launch / 1.0 doesn't work without fucking up the economy >Oh wow, it costs 3x the amount it used to to buy a Constellation in credits, because there was some shortage of components and raw materials, so the prices are now higher. However the real money price is just the same as ever, so I'll go buy one with cash and either keep it or flip it by charging only 2.8X the price and give people 'a deal' in terms of credits. which becomes a whale driven hellscape that ruins the game. The smartest things CIG has done since the beginning has been to push back against exclusivity and P2W style bullshit at a time when other crowdfunded MMOs were advertising that if you didn't back the game at $500 or more, you'd never get a certain sword, or plot of land, or whatever the fuck. I'm worried that the long dev arc and zoomoids being hired will normalize shitty monetization, but we need to push back and ensure that Roberts original autism stands in this regard. Hell, they even did some good things like >Even the Subscription items start to drop freely in game after 3 monthsso there is potential for paint/skins to be sold there too
>>2263404SC isn't going to have a free market player driven economy like EVE. 1 in 10 human entities you see in the verse will be NPCs doing things like trading, mining and running missions. There will be no worry of players consolidating resources when CIG can change things on the fly. I'm not worried about P2W for that reason either. A bunch of Idris owners flying around? Conflict zones will be instanced. There may be tens of thousands in the game universe but I'll only see one of them at any given time.Incidentally, I just realized that the hangar entrances which say 'employees only' and 'medical' are for NPC crews specifically.
>>2263928>1 in 10 human entities you see in the verse will be NPCs doing things like tradingthis is the goal. look at the state of NPCs and tell me with a straight face they will ever achieve it. the current status quo of devs tweaking the economy monthly for events and the occasional bug or oversight causing most of the interesting emergent gameplay (jumptown, dupree etc) will continue indefinitely.
>>2262830I can't wait for the much anticipated rush of content, features and bug fixes to the PU post squadron release to not happen.
>>2263333Master Set goes for sale every year during Citizencon but since it costs over $1k you can only see and buy it if you're Concierge. On the flip side you can buy it with store credit and it'll have LTI because it costs over 1k.
>>2264669What do you think will happen post sq42 release?

>>2264752NTA but its 100% clear.>SQ42 middling reviewsSome months of frantic bugfixing to try and reclaim CR "honor". SC money starts to dry up. SQ42-2 development begins.EITHER: Same old continues and suckers keep paying for CR wankingOR: Money starts to seriously dry up, others forcing CR to play in SQ42 with a few veteran devs while everyone else develops SC frantically trying to get back income.End result is the same, SC slowly fizzles as players and payers lose faith.Studies will be written about the scam game of the century.
>>2264752looking at the shown off citizencon footage from various years sq42 doesn't look like a fucking miracle in comparison to SC and it doesn't seem like some god team of devs are making it that can swoop in and solve all the PU's problems (most of which are network issues, and they're building a single player game). if any improvements come I can only imagine it would be from having the man hours and not some mythical A team that's been absent.
>>2263928>>2264664Everyone knew that NPCs were going to have a role in the economy but the point was it was all part of the same economy as the players. So if there was a shortage of X mineral necessary to make Y, some NPC faction may put out more contracts for mining X, while another may put out hauling contracts to take refined Y to Z component manufacturer etc. There's a difference between CIG changing certain parameters around the periphery and having players (or CIG) on the outside simply letting players spend real money in a way that steps around the in-universe economy. As far as instancing, we'll see how it grows but the intention has always been to have server expansion sharding capable to allow interaction between multiple players in the same universe and only split into true instances in certain specific flagged or unusually dense redundant areas temporarily. Otherwise, the whole "You can drop a bunch of random stuff from your wreck out in space, die/be rescued/ otherwise evacuated to another system, and - assuming nobody picked it up or you waited so long there was a cull - you can fly back and pick it all up" won't work and it will end up like traditional MMOs in trying to make sure you get into instancec XXYYZZ of that zone i but since you joined a friend who was in XXYYYY flagged , now you by default go to that version, and can't get to the one where your crap is anymore. There's nothing wrong with having NPCs of varying sorts or there being some sort of instancing, but the primary design is around a unified economy and backend server work designed to ensure players have the appearance of a game universe that's continuous.
>>2264664>look at the state of NPCs and tell me with a straight face they will ever achieve it.12~ years ago I thought SC was a scam because I bought an aurora that couldn't physically leave the hangar module. I could open the door on the side, play around with an impossibly bright holographic model, and shoot a turret attached to a high chair. I'm convinced now that you can do literally anything with enough autism and money.
>>2265458>You can do anything with enough autism and moneyThis is the bet that The Chairman made 40 years ago and has been working on ever since. I want him to succeed and with ever step he takes, it seems like he might just do it.
>>2265229>There's a difference between CIG changing certain parameters around the periphery and having players (or CIG) on the outside simply letting players spend real money in a way that steps around the in-universe economy. I think the community is needlessly fretting about the scale and scope that players will be able to impact the in-game economy.I am a retard that doesn't know anything about game design, but all of the things I've wanted to buy in the store (sans ship skins) I've been able to find in-universe through loot boxes. That indicates a good-faith attempt not to gate anything behind a paywall.Once player looting of armor and ship titles come into play I assume it will get even easier.Their plan for instancing seems like actual witchcraft, so I can't argue that point.
>>2265095>OR: Money starts to seriously dry up, others forcing CR to play in SQ42 with a few veteran devs while everyone else develops SC frantically trying to get back income.>End result is the same, SC slowly fizzles as players and payers lose faith.OR, they can give the backers what they promised from the start, a single-player mode (ideally with optional co-op). There are enough players just randomly friending people as to help them look for the lowest population shard to indicate there is a sizable player base that wants a single-player mode (again, ideally with optional co-op). CIG can still monetize by selling ships, skins, and content via DLCs, because God knows the community at large won't create stuff that's up the par, and those who could will paywall them anyway. The "Train Simulator" business model would work with the number of autists paypigs in SC (an example being people who solo their Polarii and Idrii everywhere, the 890J being sold-out, AGAIN).
update on van life in game, logged into my stocked caterpillar, noticed my stuff had slid off the table into the shitter, other than that was all fine and functional, small amount of frost on my armour from lifesupport struggling? idk. took a mission, flew there, rolled out the fury and killed a 100i, moved to the next point where the mission broke anyway, refilled the medgel in the nursa, put my shit back on the table and bedlogged for at least the third time in that ship consecutively.

>>2266029the polaris layout is awful and you can tell it was phoned in over covid.don't believe me? just look at the engineering section on the polaris and how it's larger and more overbuilt than even the idris like it was scaled for a ship twice as big. then look right next door at the cargo/torpedo bay and how torps magically need to travel through the front elevator shaft to get to the tubes from the rotary magazines.the entire interior is a complete clusterfuck of poorly reasoned design choices, not 'minor issues' and it was done to meet an arbitrary IAE deadline to prove to retards they weren't just jerking each other off with over a billion dollars of backer money.
>>2267397Have you noticed that the torpedoes are not pushed in to the tubes, but rotated :D
>>2267397Or how there is no button to rotate a magazine for manual loadingOr how the Perseus racks are made for tractor beam loading, but make no sense otherwise due to the wasted space.CIG is still pretending like ammo is going to be delivered to guns by hand...I guess we have to wait until the feature comes to get notified that its impossible and it will just take it automatically from cargo grid..
>>2268137I wouldn't be necessarily opposed to this provided "primary" weapons systems (polaris torpedos, Idris chin gun) had loading rooms were you got to see the internal guts and action of the weapon and needed to be loaded and armed by crew before firing
hypothetically, if SQ42 were to be ready for an end of year release would you intentionally delay it ~6 months to let the GTA fever leave the marketing sphere, or would you release around the same time to feed off of the deadzone GTA creates, especially since it won't be coming to PC?
>>2269342Why niggers twerking and pride parades on console is even considered a competitor for a pc space game is beyond me
>>2269701The competition is not over the platform or genre. The competition is for your attention and time.Little hard to win that competition if you release sq42 in the same window as a super anticipated game like gta6.

But most of the ones I've had a chance to talk to are financially sound. I think since a lot of shit in the economy has become unobtainium(boats/pleasure rides/new construction renovation/campers/etc), youre seeing a rise in digital hobby purchasing which is significantly cheaper, yet seems unobtanium for someone in major debt or who has never had a job. IRL shit has gotten so expensive now that people don't realize they live outside their means now.

Emphasis on WANT to. I advocate for anyone at any level of finance to spend your money and live a little with nice experiences, but my expenses for the above items are the cheaper options I listed. Most people will choose the more expensive lavish options and then complain about being broke. $1000-$4000 over 5-10 years in Star citizen is a lot cheaper in comparison to what these people waste money on in a single year. Also, women get their nails done/did regularly and that shit costs $100-200 each time if you wanna hear about some stupid financial decisions.>inb4 being born with a silver spoonI started my adult life with the clothes on my back and in my duffel bag and a CD player with burnt cd's after joining the military. >>2274182Hope you find gainful employment soon anon. Shits all fucked right now.I'm not the anon shitting on poor people, I just know plenty of broke people through my life that had no money because they were absolutely fucking retarded about it. If you make $2000 a month, live paycheck to paycheck, have debt, and are spending $1000 on a jpeg. That is stupid. If you are living in your means and dropping $50-100 here and there from saved money and melting shit to buy bigger ships after years as you accrue creds, it's not the same.Maybe it's not you, but there's no shortage of people who are living poor because they're acting stupid as fuck with money. They could be doing better but they arent. They then lash out at others because they can't conceive of people not splurging on every possible luxury known to man, and saving money for purchases or rainy days. I can't tell you how many times someone who made the same money as me back in the day would ask for money because they were broke and needed to buy food. Never mind they have a new luxury car, smokes, go out drinking, buy new clothes/shoes on payday, just generally living beyond their means. To me there's a difference between an idiot, and someone who is poor beyond their control.
>>2274217I'm not in problems. It's just that everyone in the thread knows what SC is and isn't. Putting even a fraction of your money to this when it could be something else, is kinda tough pill to swallow.Lets say you spend 3000e on the game (im not there yet I hope), thats one tenth of a mortgage of a small house. I put 2k to bitcoin and even in its current shit state its still generated more money than I lost in SC - but that money could be IN bitcoin and generated even more. It's just opportunity cost that I am thinking about. Kraken is apparently not coming this year but 2027 - but imagine thinking: "In 2027 the game is fixed and good."Does anyone believe that? How strongly?
>>2274220Who knows what'll happen, man. I just know that this game shows promise and no other game even comes close to it in terms of the game engine. Best case scenario, we get an s-tier well polished game from the makers of freelancer/brute force. Worst case scenario, they sell the engine to someone who can make a finished game (which could end up being best case).Adding vr support to the game and it actually working has been a huge confidence boost in the game for me personally. It's not like the game isn't making progress. But I would still advise people not to buy anything more than a starter package, because unless you are a certain kind of person it isn't valuable enough to warrant you dropping hobby money on it. For others, it is.
>>2274149I remember doing that shit like 10 years ago when the vanguard came out or whatever it was. did they bring it back for something
>>2274072You are in ironically a bad father.
>>2274401>thirdy detectedLet me guess... India or Brazil?
>>2274401Why, because I spent five thousand dollars or so on sc, that is literally the cheapest random thing I have spent money on, even more so when you consider it's over more than a decade. You are wildly poverty stricken if you think that makes me a bad father.
I've dropped less than $500 on SC, including a HOTAS (that I use for more than SC too)I have my fun, I am content.I'll probably CCU to a Railen when it comes out and be done until SQ42 comes out. Assuming I don't die before then.I get that some people are vulnerable and have no self-control, but I really don't think SC is the most egregious thing out there.I think Gacha games that wave the "Gamble to maybe get this super cool and op thing before it's gone forever!" Are far, FAR worse. I've watched people spend in a couple of minutes more than everything I've spent on SC over the course of a couple years, on ONE character!Fucking crazy man.
>>2274487>lies about how much he's spent>spent probably 10k on literal jpegs>says he doesn't care about it>seethes for two daysDamn looks like I hit a nerve. I hit the old nail on the head here. Maybe what you should do is refund those jpegs and invest in your children's future. Maybe give that a try lil guy.
>>2274487NTA but if you went into any game thread including gachas and stated you had spent $5k on a game, you would be rightly ridiculed and called a retard. Either you're a tourist or only post in /scg/ and have been sheltered by other dumb asses swimming in their own sunk cost fallacy. Don't be mistaken though. The wider site and most people in general think you're retarded for dumping that much cash on a game as scummy as this one.
>>2274571Not him either, but disposable income is relative The <500 I spent is a lot to me, and it took me years to get thereBut I personally know people for whom going and buying a new $700+ gun is just what they do when they're bored one weekend. Dude is basically an armory at this point and barely shoots them. They're borderline decorations. He makes enough money that he doesn't even blink at the price tags, hell, I watched him buy one without even knowing the price until he was at the register. Is it dumb to drop that much on a game? Yeah. But whether that matters to him is relative. There are hobbies both more and less expensive than this one. I flat out refuse to calculate how much I've dumped on gunpla over the years, and it's not like I can do anything with them. I can't invite my friends over to play with the kits I've finished.ok technically I COULD but none of my friends are autistic enough for thatI don't know man, I'm old enough now that how other people spend their time and money doesn't phase me.As long as they're financially stable and it brings them joy, why give a fuck?
>>2274571See>>2274013The irony in most of this discussion about the space dad with the $5k fleet is that he said he had his house paid off, and the people that would call him retarded are probably renting and paying for the most unnecessary frivolous luxuries while doing so. Casting stoned from proverbial glass houses, so to say. Like I said, earlier, most whales in this game seem to be financially sound and not retarded. Considering the actor for Rico in Starship Troopers is a streamer in this game, its probably safe to assume that the outlandish expensive jpegs are bought by the rich. So there's also the sour grapes aspect of the have nots.
>>2274631Not only is my house paid off but I make enough for my wife to be a stay at home mother to our two children.

>>2274628>>2274631It has nothing to do with responsible spending. You're all boomer space dads so you don't get it. Spending 5000 dollars on a video game that isn't even done yet and may never be done is moronic and everyone outside of this game thinks so. Even gacha autists.People here have been sheltered too long from the truth and every time someone comes along and reminds you it's retarded you throw boomer bitch tantrums. If you spent more than 80 dollars on a video game you are a retard and everyone thinks so.
>>2274959Most people are extremely retarded, anon. Being called a retard by someone who is inconceivably more retarded(rentoids and the general public) really doesn't have the effect you think it does. I guess if you can't see the point im making (that it's usually well off financially sound people that are whales in this game) then you fall under the more retarded category. At the end of the day, the whale mindset for funding this unfinished game, is that they are funding their dream game and have the extra money to do it without hurting or really having any impact on their finances in a bad way. CIG just makes it more appealing by offering incentives and then turning that into a borderline predatory model, trying to prey on the hopes and dreams of said whales. That said, these aren't crackheads destroying their lives for a fix(there are always outliers), it really has no impact other than the enjoyment of early access to an LTI ship added to the collection. Also, name another game that is even remotely close to the seamless space sim fps experience of SC. You can't, because there aren't any. I know, because I look obsessively.People pay for PSN and XBox live(absolutely retarded), 70 dollar yearly release games (madden/CoD), cosmetics, subscriptions to MMOs, Gachas(not really conparable though since it's gooners), season passes (before the content is even out). How much do you think these people spend on this kind of stuff? How much do they actually play any of these said games? Sports fans buy overpriced merch all the time. You should go to a live sports game and stay after, anon. Go watch them auction off game-related merch after everyone has left if you want to feel like a real peasant.
>>2275040No you are retarded for spending so much on a pre alpha video game that has a history of being scummy and jewwy with it's monetisation. You're also retarded for spending huge amounts of money on it when Chris is a failure of a game designer and there's a good chance it's going to be basically abandoned after squadron is released. But what you don't realize is that outside of this thread 99% of people think you're dumb. It doesn't matter if you're rich or not. If Bezos came out and said he spent 50k on different shapes of dogshit people would ridicule him too.No idea why that concept is difficult for you to understand. Please go on /v/ and brag about how you spent 5 bands on this borderline scam game and see how people react.
>>2275045You are physically and mentally incapable of seeing the irony and hypocrisy of your post. Sometimes I feel cursed in this life, but then people like you make me remember that I am blessed and gifted.
>>2274785Nice! I like the mass produced designs in 00, especially the flag. My personal favorites: ms-06s zaku, geara doga and zulu, the humble leo, the aries, the rezel type c blue version. Honestly I love all the mass produced suits. For SC, I like mainly the light fighters: Gladius, Arrow, and the Talon are my top picks. Luv the regular Sabre, luv the guardian. Luv the Idris since it's a pocket carrier for light fighters. My favorite of all is the 600i though. It reminds me of the Consul's ship from Hyperion Cantos. I love that it has hardwood in a futuristic space ship, and I could see there being grand pianos in the future to add as decor. Would be rad to relive the beginning of the book, hunting dinos and listening/playing rachmaninoff on the ship as it hovers over your hunting grounds. Here's to hoping the titan suit has zero g maneuverability or we get a zero g atlas!
>>2275070You're blessed with total retardation. You addressed none of my points and instead just went straight to adhominem because you know I'm right. Most people think that you spending thousands on an alpha video game is the height of dumbassery which is why you know the /v/ threads always revolve around them laughing at people like you.To most people star citizen dads are worse than gacha addicts. There aren't many gacha addicts spending thousands on the game only the worst of the worst. Meanwhile there are tons of morons who have spent thousands on SC. The fact you fags think you're above gacha spenders is not only hilariously ironic but stupid because you're significantly worse. Keep being deluded and retarded. It'll make the wake up call later down the line more funny.
What are your favorite whale ships? For me, its a toss up between the Idris and the Reclaimer. I like the Idris because it seems like a real mobile base. I like the reclaimed, because it seems like a great setpiece for picking up some nasty sneaky fauna.

>>2275320ever done the Pride of Arliss mission? don't think it still spawns but hopefully it will come back, I think it was under the investigation tab, and you'd go out and do detective shit though a derelict reclaimer. it was really cool, the ship was all customized for the mission, with spotty gravity that didn't function in some places, garbage and destruction in the halls, lights flickering, frozen corpses laying/floating around, and a jumping puzzle in the cargo hold. also was one of the only places to score a pair of shades outside the subscriber store.
>>2275500I can see it. Hope we get some cool ocean worlds or bright nebula you can park it in to get the motherbase vibe.To other anons:Some other anon mentioned a while back being able to motherbase with bigger ships and logging off with other ships persisting when you logged off even with you not present or logged off at a distant station. I tried it out with the Idris, loaded with some fighters. I parked it out of the way and out of commonly traveled qt lanes. Then qt'd back to a station in a smaller ship and logged off til the next day. Even before I logged off, the qt wp for the Idris was showing in the planet I spawned at rather than where I left it. When I logged back in the next day, it had despawned completely and there was no qt wp. Doesn't look like empty ships stay where you left them reliably or persist after logoff.
>>2275571... why would you go log off elsewhere? does the idris not allow bed logging? you have to make note of the shard name and make sure you're on the same one
>>2275303>because you know I'm rightThe way backing in this game works is that you start with a $50 ($60?) game package. You can spend a little bit more and upgrade that ship to something else at any point in time.I've been backing this game for thirteen years, throwing a few bucks at it every few months. That eventually accumulated into $1700-1800 over a period of 159 months. If you're young, unemployed and don't need to buy your own food, that probably sounds retarded. But that's actually a very small amount of money compared to other hobbies, let alone the monthly cost of food nowadays.
>>2275664>you have to make note of the shard name and make sure you're on the same oneNTA but this explains so much.
>>2275664Whoever posted the info earlier had me under the impression that abandoned ships or ships you left parked somewhere else would persist after logoff, and allow you to qt to them, aka having a personal base in deep space. I've known bedlogging works with Idris and stowed ships, but last time I tried that, after the 3rd or 4th login the ship was getting all kinds of bugged to the point that I couldn't refuel anywhere. Not to mention, docking was fucked up at most places.Oh well, hope one day it works.
>>2275564Didn't know it existed, fren. I will look for it on a stable patch. Can't wait for more fauna to get added in. I really want a nasty stowaway type creature in the game some day(I have respect for player stowaways so I'll refrain from calling them creatures)
>>2275693>Whoever posted the info earlier had me under the impression that abandoned ships or ships you left parked somewhere else would persist after logoff, and allow you to qt to them, aka having a personal base in deep spacethis has been the case for me, yes. but you have to be on the same shard
>>2275714rock breaker in on evo right now and the patch notes mention 'creatures infesting the dungeon' yes they refer to it as a dungeon
>>2275739Can you tell me how to identify the current shard and how to get back to that shard after logging for a day? I'm highly interested in living out of a ship, but this game usually fucks that up in one of a million ways. It's not so bad when it happens on something like a guardian, but when you pack up a lot of shit on a bigger ship and it disappears/despawns even though you bed logged, it's annoying as shit
>>2275743Hope it's not a reskinned dog or worm.
>>2275686Like I said. You don't get it. You're too sheltered by other space dads to understand something very simple. No one expects anyone to pay thousands of dollars for pixels in a game. No one likes gacha whales for doing it, no one likes twitch dono whales, no one likes people like you.I don't think you or others here are ever going to get it until the walls come down. When squadron releases and it's a buggy mess with a terrible story that everyone clowns on you're going to get all the negative attention you could hope for. Hopefully GTA6 is so good it drowns out how bad squadron is going to be. But otherwise expect plenty of people telling you to your face that spending thousands on a video game in pre alpha often for concept ships that are literally art renders, is the dumbest most retarded thing someone can do online. It'll be a space dad holocaust and personally I can't wait.

It also has (at least for the moment) an audience made up of MMO golden age gamers who interact as a community. The lore is also extremely comprehensive and players making their own fun with RP is always nice to see. Immersion is a major focal point and people tend to love or hate it, but for those who love it no other space sim does it to the same degree as SC, and its increasing all the time. >StableIt varies. There will be bugs small (a year or two ago I remember the occasional T-posing NPC ) and large (fall through floor, blasted out into space, die ), but overall its very playable and they do generally make progress with major bugs. It is worth remembering they're making a stupidly, incredibly complex simulation for tons of of players at once and it is an 'actual' alpha, not a "teehee just test the servers guys, the game's done' alpha, so game systems are incomplete yet develop and iterate (recently, we just got another expansion to medical gameplay systems) and bugs show up. Though day to day, its generally very playable>Space truck simulator Yes, even in the alpha there are game loops for hauling (as well as salvage, mining, fuel refining etc) Get a contract, take X from point A to point B etc. Also X is physicalized cargo - its not some shit that just spawns in a list in a virtual inventory. You have to load the boxes (depending on weight, it can be by hand, by mutitool tractor beam attachment, Aliens-style "loader" but it has tractor beams, or some ship mounted beams) and lock them down in the cargo hold, then deliver them to the proper location at destination. >What to buy Depends what you want to spend. >>2280424>The lore is also extremely comprehensive and players making their own fun with RP is always nice to see.one of the cool things that you don't see too often anymore is the devs noticing trends and canonizing in game events, like jumptown going from an oversight in pricing and location to a full annual event with dedicated locations and missions.

>>2283930Are you talking about the new armor changes where they need to be a certain size to damage big armor or something like that?
>Get excited over the new armor changes.>Turns out its a gate and there's literally 0 difference between 1 armor and 30 armor for laser repeaters.Literally worthless change. The only effect it will have is maybe stop ballistics randomly killing components through shields when flying patrol missions. On top of that somehow need to find an extra six pips of power for my radar because CIG keeps upping the power requirements without doing a balance pass on generators.
>>2284206What the fuck are you talking about that's always what the plan was. Weapons below a certain size straight up cannot damage big ships anymore.
>>2284283But I wanted to be luke skywalker!
>>2283976Yes. >But its not about size, not yet anyhow. Its mostly just that fast firing guns like repeaters cannot damage bigger ships. But the current stats are garbage and cant be taken seriously. Wait and see - but seems like the intent is to force at least someone in a fleet to have cannons to remove armor.
>>2284393I find it funny that CIG designers are either told not to do it by CR himself, or are foreign to the obvious solution that any 2 cell organism could have solved.>Shields are immune to ballistics>Armor is immune to laserWowweeeeee mister thats craaaaazy.
>>2284397That's a shit fix unironically
>>2284397shouldn't it be the reverse?>ballistics pass through shields>lasers pass through armor
>>2284555Either way, binary or almost binary difference is the only way there will ever be mixed loadouts.>>2284515Yes, because you say so.
The refueling stations in Nyx are comfy and aesthetic. Damn shame I can't QT to rock breaker stations.
>>2284973the pieces of shit don't spawn half the time anyway. this was not ready for PTU
>>2276231Yep RIP Kraken owners, it's gonna be SHIT
>>2277634>With buying No don't buy this shit for anything more than $60 (earn your shit in game)>StableNo, it's patch dependant and swings wildly. It's not bad >What 2 buybestYou got 2 choices.1.) Best case, wait for a new ship to release get a LTI token for $45 and upgrade with extra dollars to a cutter or a avenger- something small that has a cargo grid. Avenger has swift speeds but the cutter is just a soulful box. Look them up.2.) Or get the cheapest game package that has sq42 & SC and not worry about LTI and just earn it shit in game. There's a million whales who would kill for you to coop with them in their $1,500 ships.
I hope we go to war with the banu.. They ugly AF if wickelow is anything to go off of
>>2255857Wrong. As a 325a owner since kickstarter, I vastly prefer the 300 rework.
>>2285708ok samefag
>>2285384Players are not allowed to side with XT in any way. CIG publically saying they will not allow it because XT are literal nazi's.What are the odds that humans go to war with *any* aliens in Star Citizen? Yes, any. Including Vanduul.
>>2286280>CIG publically saying they will not allow itsourcethem being literal nazis according to their reddit ass userbase is the unstated reason whyfunny how ridiculously often I see XT gear on players though
>>2286293Its said multiple times, im not sure anymore but this might be the latest:https://youtu.be/5qOJ0gZxrMI?t=2060I cant find the exact xenothreat one but it was some Q&A about the last mission including XT.The one I linked shows their attitude anyway.>Writing team: "They just want to kill billions for NO REASON."
>>2286357im not sure but I think all the videos related to QV station content, Fight for pyro last event (where you had to grind it in asteroid bases or planets by killing like a single guy) - have been removed.IIRC it was in one of those. AI can find quotes about it but not the actual video.
>>2286293>funny how ridiculously often I see XT gear on players thoughI would wear XT armor too if I could get an ADP Justified set.As players though, we DO have agency to roleplay. We'll just have to forego some of the fomo trinkets they offer for the periodic events.
>>2286357>>Writing team: "They just want to kill billions for NO REASON."That's not what they said at all. They just said for that year they wanted a faction which was purely adversarial to the player, that there will clearly be criminal orgs we will be able to work for, and that it just depends where they want to take the story. If they're going to allow players to be slavers, pirates and murderers then being a member of the xenophobe squad seems tame by comparison.
>>2286468>If they're going to allow players to be slavers, pirates and murderers then being a member of the xenophobe squad seems tame by comparison.you would think so right? but modern day political sensibilities bleed in. you make a cannibal faction and the edgy ruinous powers nerds will rep them. you make a spacist faction and the same people will stab you at citizencon for wearing a shirt with their emblem
>>2286545> but modern day political sensibilities bleed in.How does that contrast with actual slave markets throughout the 'verse?
>>2286468You mean well and i do understand what you are getting at, but based on current sc, the starkov rustizen we've in live had for some 2? Years now:>allow players to be slavers, Interestingly, still not on the game yet and they stopped making ships that can hold prisoners in pods.>piratesWithin a very very specific ruleset and not ever profitable.>murderersSure, but in video games everyone is a murderer, even bobs are murderers. Murder is not frowned upon by the woke crowd, theyd want to murder wrongthinkers anyway. As long as they are sandboxy and let players larp what they want - it should be fine. But they wont, and never would have. Just try to make a space nazi org and youll see.
>>2286713Not to mention cig is based in country where its illegal to retweet a message that contais critique against muslim immigrants and can land you in jail. How long will they let cig to have adult themes of the government is actively banning or forcing age verification to sites like wikipedia :D
Still trannydays, still completely unplayable ptu..So i guess next week? CIG doesnt give a shit and probably has some ships to sell.
>>2285372On the topic of "LTI token for $45" the Aurora Mk 2 should be releasing in 4.8.
Crafting is gay, what's in 4.8?
>trans colors on noxIt's ogre
>>2289678At first I was like, nah they are just the starkitten colors. Then I looked closer..How the fuck can they fuck up matching literal colors? Is hexcolor etc. completely foreign concepts to these retards.
>>2289731Had to check on video but yup, they fucked it up.Im not saying its to be closer to trannycolors - but the vehicles are closer to trannycolors.
>>2280424>What to buy con't All you need is the $45 (currently) Game Package (ie not just a ship by itself, but comes with a Star Citizen game key which will let you play the alpha now and the MMO/open world game when released. This differs from Squadron 42, the related single player campaign game similar to Wing Commander which needs its own key). which is the cheapest model and comes with the Mustang Alpha. Kind of unusual in that it seems they've moved away from the RSI Aurora which is a bit better for hauling as starters go, compared to the Mustang Alpha which is more of a fighter. If you want to step up to some of the other packages for a few more bucks, there are options, not to mention buying other ships outright. As for Packages, I'll make these suggestions on the assumption that you are focused primarily on 'space trucking'/hauling, but there ships that 'cross over' to some of the other 'profession/trade' playstyles (as opposed to combat or combat related at varying scales) like Salvaging or Mining, should you find interest in them and have game loops that often involve hauling what you've gathered to wherever you need to turn in/sell/refinethem. I was going to break down the sub-$100 Packages, but I see that during the St Patrick's promo event (Stella Fortuna) they have an unbeatable deal on the Duelist "Lucky"package which is normally $75, but is instead >$56 - just $10 over cheapest Package>Avenger Titan, which is a capable fighter and has some room for starter cargo too >24 month Insurance vs the standard 6 month>A bonus set of unique armor and rifle with a 4-leaf clover on itIf you (or anyone )has questions , feel free to message me at verseboundanon.speculate505@passmail.net - I even have a bunch of old legacy packages (all with LTI, some include rare shit, both SC + SQ42 keys etc) if you want to go that direction or just want to go over particular ships, want "concierge/chairman's club" paints/skins at cost etc.
>>2277634>>2293775Forgot the pic I intended to post. The armor is the 4chon/lucky green edition of one of the slightly silly edgy pirate "headhunter' armor/gear sets. Its a nice little bonus. Unrelated to the query about buying a ship/package, I notice that for the Stella Fortuna sale/event, they have lots of green skins for varying ships (not to mention all of the racing-focused paints), but they still seem to refuse to sell the Emerald paint for those who already have a Constellation Phoenix? They really need to revamp that sort of thing. I was rather heartened that they sold a F7 MK2 Heartseeker conversion that works on on a Super Hornet and upgrades both the gear and gives the option of the Heartseeker skin/paint (with the WWII style pinup) , instead of treating it as a unique separate ship. Yet it seems that the Constellation Phoenix Emerald is still considered separate? Wish they'd fix that and just sell (and later, allow them to be found/created in game of course) a pack of Emerald paints for your Constellation Phoenix, plus the Archimedes and Lynx that would come with it.There are a handful of other ships that still had color variants seen as separate models. For instance, my "Nox" bike is the "Nox Kue" silver version, which doesn't seem to be available anymore? One of the biggest annoyances was how the Carrack Expedition was treated uniquely and is not available, yet its runabout, the C8X Pisces Expedition is consistently available and is even included in the Seeker starter pack. I really hope they plan to sort this stuff out somehow and allow for at very least players to purchase a paint/livery upgrade and eventually in game>>2289731That's really unfortunate. No issue with Star Kitten or the uniform, but it does seem the blue is off on the vehicles? The Nox seems to have it the worst from the pic, and the Sabre Peregrine looks similar; the Pulse doesn't seem to have as much blue in that same light shade..
>>2293800Does anyone want to team up for Vanduul swarm in arena commander? I am trying to get to wave 25.
>>2293800>blue is off on the vehicles?I think its pink too, all of them probably. Its probably the shaders for vehicles rendering differently than for characters - but still. >Constellation Phoenix EmeraldPirate Cat too.
So the Stella Fortuna made me wonder: are there any dedicated 6DoF racing games out there?I love racing in arena commander, but rental ships are just a fucking obnoxious system.
>>2294203https://store.steampowered.com/app/723100/Orbital_Racer/Only one I found.Apparently they have racing in ED
>>2294203the entire REC system is fucking cancer. oh, wanna do a gametype where everybody has a certain gun or ship etc? fuck you, everyone involved has to farm currency and RENT the stuff themselves.
>>2296315I imagine that the system will be refined quite a bit. its supposed to be the "game within the game", the answer to allow you to do the stuff you mentioned, without having to actually get everyone to own the items in "actual SC, MMO-universe" and deal with the risk of losing them etc. I just dont' think they'd done very much with it over the years, I imagine it will go the way of Voyager Direct and instead there will be an easy way to exchange in-game creds aUEC/UEC for a comparatively massive amount of REC. They could also make it so that essentially the "hosting costs" could be handled by the game's admin. So if you want to run a race where everyone has these few ships with these components, you as the admin could basically rent them for everyone on your "server' to make use of them. Seems a relatively easy fix
>>2296413or they could just let us play the game within a game without trying to fucking metamonetize it, like GTA where in multiplayer everybody has access to basically all vehicles and weapons, because it's a one off deathmatch/race and does not affect the economy
>>2296658They want you to grind for metrics.
So, are we hyped for 4.7? That shit's dropping this week supposedly.
>>2306070Im gonna play it atleast.
>Male>Not Type A>Not Type 1>Not "Masculine" >Male>and>FemaleIts as if millions of troon voices cried out and were suddenly silenced.
>>2306070Trannydays ended. So yeah its this week.
>>2307085It will have Other. Not to mention Trannies can still pick Male / Female however they like.Bodytype is probably not even connected to that.
>>2307159Wrong, unlike woke and gay devs who pretend men and women are equal, Chris specifically made the female models shorter (because it turns out women are shorter than men). This changes interactions with menus, armor, UIs and even gunplay such as being able to shoot over railing. >OtherConfirmed?
>>2307159Also you would know this if you actually played the game troon
>>2307213>>2307216Not confirmed, but very likely. Even as the woke movement is getting ground to a pulp - it still commands some power, especially on the game "journalists" who get to give your game the "critical score" that seems still to be important even if I personally cant fathom why.
