yeah you're forced to take burning nightmare on t5, so yeah I only use it with heavy hitter 12321
also its not inconsistent, you have to double tap the same spot on the goo to get it to ignite, I only use it with disperser compound and bigger puddles on t1, dunno if regular sized puddles are close enough to spread the fire. Also sadly you have to give up the extra duration for more ammo, but if you got a good chokepoint going on, nothing smaller than an oppressor can get to you.

Pretty meh. In a tight-knit group it can function in a kind-of support role if you build it for stun. On critical weakness however it turns into an absolute monster that shreds every single grunt wave with ease, and will reliably apply status effect dead on bigger enemies too. I have a loadout slot entirely dedicated to bullet hell minigun precisely for when a crit weakness modifier pops up, it's just that good and incredibly fun. Build it 3221X, I recommend 2 for the last one.

This OC is basically useless by employing 1 simple trick, firing when you're actually aiming at the target and using your brain.
Ignores armor is pointless because you're usually using a secondary that strips armor and sets you up for potential combos like electrochem.

I was testing smart rifle overclocks and I really don't see why executioner is praised so much. When modded for electricity and damage, seeker rounds does the same damage while not needing to aim for anything in particular. Furthermore, the smart OS overclock with electricity puts both of those OC's to shame with similar or even in some cases superior damage, FASTER damage, and generally just feeling more like a standard burst rifle.

I don't remember the exact numbers as I didn't save them, but the differences between the three are so marginal except smart OS is significantly faster. At most there's a 5% damage increase which is negligible imo.

Another hot take: MPA for engi's shotgun is a slower albeit more accurate version of pump action. Pump action modded with accuracy can perform similarly while providing a faster RoF and more damage depending on the situation.

Also, a clean sweep fire-aoe range +1 ammo modded grenade launcher is far more effective than any variation of Fatboy for strictly crowd clear and AOE dominance. Creating a radioactive shield-deleting field is suboptimal especially if you get flanked from behind and need to go through said field. With this fire nade launcher, you can effectively clear everything except prae's and guards but they will both suffer significant damage regardless. Because they are the slowest, they also help spread the fire to any stragglers behind the AOE range.

All testing done on haz 5 sandbox.

I forgot to add-the fire nade launcher can do this 9 times vs 3-5 depending on Fatboy upgrades. RJ250 compound may give the most ammo @ 14~ however it cannot ignite guards in one shot. My build is able to ignite prae's in one shot so long as it is a direct hit, and will ignite all guards no matter what. If RJ250 would make me shoot two shots anyways, that's only 7 shots vs 9 so clean sweep is superior for the fire build

A gunner has the weakest mobility option in the game whereas an engi has 2nd most important
A gunner primarily focuses on weakening or killing crowds of enemies and taking aggro whereas the engineer is designed to setup points of defense or zones of influence that assist with supportive wave clear and fortification

A gunner has the shield which is beneficial no matter where it's placed within reason. Even a retard can make the shield useful. The engineer has the sentry, which is a high maintenance and ammo-hungry support weapon that is often forgotten about rendering it useless decor at times and often gets a noob killed while they attempt to build it-underestimating how much time they have to build or specifically WHERE they build (like in front of a korolok/spitballer etc)

For a new player, they should always promote a gunner first before touching other roles. Not only because it is easiest, but it also allows a perspective of what every other class can do if in the right hands. The normie who just shoots and does the raw objective will be a STELLAR gunner but a terrible scout. If exposed to other roles, he will learn naturally what the other roles can do and when he promotes he will be a less-shotty scout.

It's okay. I've only been able to stomach playing it solo. The games core design makes playing with randoms or otherwise mentally slow gamers like pulling teeth. If you enjoy solo DRG you'll probably enjoy Rogue Core at least until you run out of interesting things to see (there's not a ton of weapons and caves in the game, it will happen quick) but if you like playing with a full team, DRG is still leaps and bounds better than anything Rogue Core has to offer. I'm worried about their launch day being so soon because this game is not currently in a place where I can say "yes, this needed to be a standalone release". It's an interesting idea but the execution needs a lot of work imo.

The broad strokes is to:
Use a secondary that compliments your primary
Understand your damage, don't waste shots that do significantly more damage than the bug's health. Kite them into some sort of chip damage source like flames, goo, electric field, sentry, etc. Work as a team and understand each person's general loadout from a glance. You have 10k hours so this shouldn't be a problem.
Hit your shots and in spots that count. This is one of the biggest sources of wasted ammo.

For the M1K specifically.
The zhukovs are a good way to clean up small stuff and finish off super low health bugs.
Don't charge shot grunts. You can 1 tap them with an uncharged shot in just about all hazs.
Hit weak spots, obviously.

Just finished, 3 manned it (S*,G,E).
The amount of those fucking crystal scans in some narrow tunnel on the other side of the map makes me want to blow my brains out. A driller would have sped that up immensely and its just constant waves of shit bugs.
We ended up skipping BETC in stage 3 because there's like no nitra the entire EDD, ended with no excess ammo pods and had exactly enough for the drillevator.
We had 2 bulks as well so that was great.
I only went down maybe once and instantly IW it to make it to evac. Meanwhile the Gunner and Engi had double digit downs. All things considered it wasn't the worst but it was pretty low on the list of EDDs I've had simply because the lack of a 4th player.

We had a full team but our Driller was kinda mediocre, I literally had to tell him to stop mining gold and look for the scans on stage 3 because clock was ticking with the constant swarmers. Also my team accidentally woke up Betsy every single time despite me warning them multiple times that there'd be one in the last stage. I hate to sound this elitist but as a Gunner I was pretty proud to not even go down once (Scout's down count was like 7 then it was our Driller with 4 or 5 I think). The most awful loss though was on my second attempt when my teammates literally bodyblocked me from going to the pod because they all went down on the ramp so it was literally impossible for me to reach it without reviving them.

I don't really want the game to completely fail but you're overselling it a bit, reminder that it's still in Early Access and apparently the game itself is quite dire in terms of content. It will most likely have a healthy population for 2/3 weeks but for a whole year? Unless GSG actively starts crunching their people and stops all the development on DRG then I can't conceivably see Rogue Core having a stable playerbase until it drops its 1.0 patch.

I've participated in alpha tests that have done this exact same thing and it's genuinely the worst fucking thing you could do, especially if the game has the smallest bit of progression or unlocks of some kind.
If something new gets added or changed significantly between tests, everyone who signs up has to start all over again going through the tedious process of unlocking everything again, just to try whatever was changed/fixed/added, and they never tune said progression for the limited amount of time that these playtests are actually open for.

Not worth it for gunner during a swarm. Gunner should be shooting. The other classes can do that. Every milisecond of stability or hot bullets count. It’s better to triple tech fear spam, wait the long ass reload time then fear spam immediately again to give the team area control. A milisecond of waiting means getting overun or being stunned by 1 slasher that can lead to a cascade failure that wipes the whole team. Again gunner is about sustain. The sad fact is DRG was lightning in a bottle and the devs don't understand their own game. It peaked just before battle pass and seasons have just been an excuse for members of the dev team to train their coding skills which is why every new enemy has a gimmick and design that doesn't fit in with the pre-2022 enemies. Even some of the post peak weapon designs fall into this, like with the Hurricane.

Hence why I doubt Rogue Core will be anything but a fotw game 99% carried by the brand name for a short while before most people move on. The devs actually don't seem to know what they're doing.
