That's just not how a business works, even one in complete shambles like Sega. NGS was shit from day one, but it obviously had a fully-staffed development team working on it full-time up until the end of 2022, at which point they very obviously pulled off everybody except a tiny skeleton crew that finished some of the in-progress projects (Creative Space, Leciel) before getting shuffled off and wound down further.
AFAIK Sega hasn't made the news by firing a whole development team, so they're still employed, and they're not paying them to do nothing, so they're working on something, and it clearly isn't NGS.

It's very possible that they moved them to work on those Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, etc spinoffs they announced, but they almost might not want to let one of their more historically successful franchises die just because it released one terrible flop.

That's exactly my point. That whole post is my entire point. It's why I'm saying no one should be asking for a new pso or a start over of anything, before anything else they should demanding public apologies, demanding mass firings and demotions, demanding that Sega and this time finally take this game seriously before even thinking of moving on and trying to sweep away what realistic, when consider the entirety of pso2's life, a 12 year life span of them fucking up what should have been easy money.

Give it a rest there's no way to salvage this game without completely remaking it.
The biggest mistake was keeping it tethered to original PSO2 which is why we're stuck with the awful mechanics and engine from that game.

They can't do that because that, because NGS is considered and expansion to pso2, not a new game. By that logic they are already "supporting" base pso2 and with people want to play base, it's technically still accessible. This makes the situation even worse because the two games are joined together people can easily go play the husk of pso2 base, compare that to NGS and go, " WTF how did we get so watered down, in terms of everything?". This is why people think the answer is to "simply go back to doing base". All that will do is just make people rightfully go " why couldn't any of this new base content have been done for NGS in the first place." There's no way around it There's no sweeping it away and dismissing it. NGS HAS to be addressed and there only options are to mass demote everyone, actually get all hands on deck to finally make the game get back to where it it should have been or they just straight up EOS and live with having to count pso2, as a whole, now being considered a failure when all is said and done, regardless if all the periods of success it's had in it's life time. What ever gets done at this point by now though, it's clear either way HMZK needs to be ousted.

Idola and es, were supplementary extensions. Side content being made with no intention of ever being used to directly influence and change the main game. NGS however is a direct expansion as well as a soft reboot, developed with the mindset of directly taking over to continue pso2. That's why it's can't be written of as just a fluke or one off, the same way Es and Idola can.

ngs doesn't even do defined hip bones or provide muscular body outside of very choice outfits for men, its androgynous at best. face is shared between male and female unlike body sliders because sega is retarded. and slider rounding is fucked incrementing is by 2 while decrementing is by 1 due to rounding error. also the lighting in ngs is permafucked by accounting for sunlight all the time while pso2 relied on "internal lighting" for everything giving it a distinct anime feel while being 3D and now its just 3D unless you pay sega for rental premium lighting which is stupid. there is nothing more depressing than idling for a few seconds in the city ingame and getting barraged by lookbook likes because the character creator is more effort than its worth to many with how convoluted sliders affect one another that they can't be bothered and can't be faulted for not trying.

what you can do with the free place hair fringe with physics in code vein 1 was amazing and what you can instantly create in tower of fantasy is instantly perfected like "this is my character" with a little bit of fiddling even with its limited sliders and free place makeup is already good enough. thats what the original pso2 strived for and its lost completely on ngs. so no, it is not the best character creator. the dawn of automatic character creation by inputting words or pictures will be soon and ngs needs to do more to stay ahead of the pack. its long fallen behind. ngs did seem like an improvement at first, but it really is not.
