I think I got it. If you guys ran into a matching error, don't hit yes to resume, just exit to the main menu and try again. If I hit yes and resume matching, there's a high chance nothing will happen and I'll get bots.

I don't know if it's appropriate to post this here, but figured this was a good time/place as any.I don't remember when this game came out (going back to the 1 week/weekend beta test before the full konaste release), but ever since then I had played it every day (not counting vacations or rare days, which I'll get to later). This game was so fun and new, I was instantly hooked and hadn't felt the same for a game before or since. I completed every banner and almost unlocked every girl (minus that rat) as of Dec 2025, using $140 in paseli and free tickets over the life of the game. I even went to japan twice to play bonga irl, collected some cards, and even bought the art book. And of course browsing the /vm/ threads (rarely posting myself).I managed to get to level 120 with my main, before moving on to Silver.Even during these drought periods I would have where I would get bored of playing vidya in general, I'd still play bonga because in my head, it was different than other video games.Anyways, there have been some banners where I fucked up either with vacation timing or an IRL event taking up too much time, and I would need to SCRAMBLE to finish a banner. 10, 20, up to 30 games a day minimum for a week or so just to BARELY complete the banner. But I completed it every time. My love for the game had been waning, and for the past year or so my 5 daily games felt more like a chore than a reward. I would mindlessly complete entire banners and not even use any of the new items, since I already had my costumes set how I like them. Queue times were getting worse, and it could take up to 1.5 hours just to get 5 games.Even in my second trip to Japan, I only played bonga for a single 3 hour session the entire trip. In my first trip 3 years ago, I played enough to complete the arcade banner at the time (iidx/beatmania? after the bunny one).
Then this fucking Sepia banner happened. I had too much shit going on in my personal life, and I ended up missing the banner. Pic related was as far as I could get before maintenance. As stupid as it sounds, I felt like something broke in me. I rarely even played Sepia, and already had a costume set for her, so it wasn't like I missed out on something I even wanted. I was so pissed, I did something I had never done before. I willingly chose not to play the next day.I was still mad, so I didn't play for another day. and another. and another. I figured I would get back to playing after a week, maybe 2. But then it turned into a month, 2 months, etc. My time was free to do other things, whether play other vidya or just other hobbies. I still browsed these threads, but waited before telling this stupid story because I felt I would one day return to this game.I think enough time has passed where I'm confident in saying I don't see myself returning. I know this isn't supposed to be a big deal, people stop playing games all the time, but for some reason this felt different. This game was a constant part of my life for a few years; getting excited for updates, new girls, memes, rank mode being introduced, arcade items, fun banners, new maps, checking in on the threads to see how everyone is reacting to the changes, etc.But now it's like I'm free in a way. I don't really miss playing it, but I have lots of good memories and had lots of fun. I even got my wife to play in Japan. I always thought I'd play this game forever (or at least until EOS), but it's strange to think I'll probably never play again.I'll still keep my eamusement card and logins safe.
