Im not talking about rp servers or direct sources where people are there for that reason.Im talking MMOs, competitive games, even roblox games (not rp shit)Some that come to mind but idk which one to dedicate myself to are Guild Wars 2, Fallout 76, Deep Rock Galactic, Helldivers 2, Risk of Rain 2...I am thinking maybe of starting either Deep rock/ Guild Wars or fallout. Do you have any other suggestions? Do you think any of the ones i mentioned are good for this? Also heard FFXIV is pretty good for it too.
>>2294360Also thought about minecraft but dunno good servers for this. Hypixel skyblock and 2b2t were on my mind too but im tired of 2b2t style servers and hypixel skyblock i just dk...
Friends online caused nothing but trouble. Friends in general now that I think about it. I'd stick to single player games to avoid meeting people who seem nice and friendly but fuck you over or get you involved with something you didn't want. Just my advice from personal experience...

>>2294360I have played video games since prolly around 1995ish, and mmos since everquest/wowOut of all the internet friends ive ever made, its been a grand total of 1 legitimate friend + 1 group of friends. The one legitimate friend came from Wakfu or Dofus, and lives in Argentina. We dont talk super frequent anymore but i like himThe group came from four chin prolly 15+ years ago and we found out we live within 30 min of each other.>Video games, especially current year video games are not the place to make friends.MMOs and other games do everything they can to limit socialization in the current year.>Dungeon finders>Auto matchmaking>Speech censorship of all kinds>Ease of connectivity through hamachi + current day lack of necessity for LAN workaroundsMost of my actual friends came from highschool to this day.
>>2294360Unironically turtle WoW while leveling, there's a decent amount of cool people just enjoying the game like it's 2004 again, also had a similar experience when playing EQ project 1999 and the monsters & memories closed beta. The most important thing is to just chat with people, a lot of people want to make friends but they're so use to the "no talk and rush rush rush!" mmorpg meta hive mind, all it takes is one person to break the ice and you end up with a nice chatty group having a good time and potential friends to play other vidya with.
