marathon's a lot of fun. I'm working all day weekdays, but man, when the weekend comes around i'm staying up all night playing marathon. It really drowns out the ambient moaning and loud thuds coming from the wifey's bedroom while her boyfriend's over.
I'm so happy this game is flopping lmao fuck bungie

I just got this
The game itself is fun. However this whole scenario made me realize the bar for an AAA game being successful is kind of insane.Contrast the amount of money that went into this game, or another big AAA multiplayer game like Fortnite, with something like Deep Rock Galactic. How many copies need to be sold to recoup the budgets for each?Going forward, it's not clear to me how US AAA studios can compete with indie games or studios from countries where developer man hours cost less. This seems like a far cry from the days when a megahit like DOOM could be developed by a few guys in a garage then go on to make millions. I just searched how much DOOM earned and apparently DOOM 2 "only" earned around 100 million in the US and Europe. So if DOOM 2 cost as much as Marathon did to make it would have lost money...
im a mara troon i solo lonely :c
Rape Bungie.
>>2396082I have an answer to the conundrum the AAA games find themselves in. One weird trick to making a successful game: Cut the woke crap, fire the DEI women hires, let the nerd autists make good games again.
