>>2315404Depends on what it is you're doing, but acquiring at least five pets is important for PvE later because they provide an autoloot function. There's a handful of free one-offs you can get by following the main questlines up to Mediah on top of whatever newbies get for attendance and also season seals. The buyable packs include Tier 3 ones, of wihch upgrading pets isn't exactly a fun affair if you don't want to risk going nowhere with them, but you'll probably get a fair few free ones from events overtime to alleviate it anyway.Maids are good but you can also just overload vendor trash onto a horse if you're about to be over-encumbered if grindan. There's a tent item whose 'free' equivalence is mostly a daily silver upkeep and is probably the most notable usable paid item; PA does sell a fair few others now that have practical functions, but they're mostly superfluous, niche, or you can work around not having them. You also get a welfare mythical horse that will eliminate any and all actual need to worry about getting one with all the skills, so no need to fuss around with too many of the Training ones.

I'm wondering what to do with all the free Blackstar stuff they gave us in Olvia Academy.I'm way past that on my main Musa but I have a semi-alt Maehwa that I've given most of the freebies and leftover gear to: PEN boss helmet, gloves and boots, TRI Fallen God, TET Blackstar Weapons and PEN Capotia accessories. I could use the PEN enhancement materials and the free PEN to make the primary weapon into a Sovereign, or I could just enhance to PEN and give the other free PEN/TET Blackstars to my next most favoured class, Drak.Obviously the real solution is to not bother with any of this and just change my tag when I wan to play one of these classes, but I can't make any money off the free gear so I may as well try to use them.

Lost Ark is most likely going EoS shortly, as they're laying off a lot of their Western staff. TnL same thing. But BDO maintains a fairly large audience by comparison.

Yeah i know both classes can achieve good damage, but the starting experience was wildly different, and it felt like i wasted my time.I didn't particularely care for the bots, they infested the game, and more than anything the refusal to address the problem had a bigger impact on LA's decline than the bots had. Just unwilling devs if not accomplices to the RMTing going on, or worse, incompetent devs were really bad marketing. This went on for years AFAIK.TnL i knew i was going to drop from the start, as i'm sure did many others. It was built about the same as LA, same gated bullshit, same shallow RNG enhancing, but it had the mass pvp aspect. That's a negative in my opinion as it just rewarded whales even more, i've heard a whale could fend off 5-10 people with the gear difference.I enjoyed the leveling campaign but after getting to endgame my choices were a bunch of quests of "kill 8 undead" to collect RNG shinies and i just stopped caring, i wasn't going to invest my time day after day on such low effort shit. Also i hated the "turn into a mount" system, i'd rather have something my character can ride than turn into a duck or some other animal, and it wasn't that much faster than running to be honest, we have it good with BDO gigafast mounts.Basically, in my opinion, BDO still has several strong sandbox elements going on that set it apart from the average themepark slop.

Also the customer support is very good, getting a ticket answered within a week is unheard of with korean mmos. Nexon used to take literal months to respond when I played maple, dunno if it's like that now. Every ticket I've ever sent to PA was answered within a day or two, maybe a week at most. The CMs are active and actually have a presence in the game, a lot of people are familiar with them and recognize their names. Most of the CMs are veteran players who had a positive reputation in their region before they became a CM, they're relatable because they're all players and they aren't actually shitters either. At this point I think the most common complaint I've seen amongst long term players now is that PA doesn't do enough exciting, sweeping changes to the game that shake things up, and that it experiences long periods of stagnation, only really adding new gear and new samey grind spots here or there, or some new crystal, or a new lightstone upgrade, which I can kind of agree with.
