>>2385938Before Nabel the last raid I did at release was Isys and I told myself I'd take this level cap more seriously and got week 1 Nabel clears and I have several characters at Delezie fame but the raid is already dead content in Korea so I don't know if I can even be bothered to learn it when it's basically DOA for us. I could farm Delezie like a madman for 40 weeks for a 20% damage increase or I could just wait for the next season and increase my damage by 1200% in one FP bar.

The character list is one sided, you can add people to yours without their permission and will be notified when that character logs in and what channel they're in. I feel like 110 cap, the very start, was the last time the game had any soul whatsoever. When they bothered to program in that stupid little gae bolg shooting minigame with the insane music. And the roguelike mode. Choosing where you farmed stuff, the difficulty levels of the different dungeons.Was the korean reception to that era of the game the end of DFO as a whole? You can trace a straight line from "people hate it" to the game turning into what it is today. Honestly, looking back, if I were Mihoyo or someone else with a competing game, I'd 100% have started a smear campaign about that cap just to ensure I didn't have to compete with how fun it was.

Gear primarily came from actually running regular dungeons (with higher difficulty having better rewards) instead of pulling the hell mode slot machine. Your reward for doing difficult content was directly getting drops (even exclusive drops) rather than just getting a bunch of free hell mode runs. Noblesse Code even let you gear multiple characters at once right at tbe start of the cap. The gear all had cool gimmicks and most of it was viable to some extent even if there were clear winners. It was extremely easy to complete your "set" and then you just increased its strength over time by feeding gear to it, instead of praying for epic / primeval drops. There were like 8 whole dungeons to farm and they all gave good shit. You actually got to play your main instead of running hells all day on them. The music and visuals were all fantastic too.It got worse over time and grinding your gear up stronger was painful but it offered such an explosively good experience right out of the gate. Most of the bad parts of the cap were the parts that they added in response to Korea complaining, the parts that resemble this cap.

I also really hated customs though I hate gear with DIY effects you grind for in general given it always encourages tunneling into one specific configuration for like 90% of classes after everything has been optimized ruining some of the intended fun. It's not like the cap didn't have potential but even without Koreans being upset they really didn't know how to properly realize that potential.
