Normally I built walled complexes when I used to play like picrel. I'm thinking I might make a Dol Guldur like tower fortress if I reinstall it for the update.

I played Anarchy Online casually on and off for years and never once touched the PVP, but the build autism is too much fun for leveling PVE, one of the few games where it's addicting to reach max power at each level bracket just for PVE.

I always thought an MMO should do a neat "snapshot" system where you have specific eras of gear/abilities, but you can also return to a snapshot of a previous era with ease and play it without enjoying modern changes/power creep for older content.

Such a system would have unironically made WoW absurdly more popular with how much people like to go back to "vanilla," "TBC," etc. without butchering raids. On top of that, remove the demigod power creep that lets people solo raids and require players to work together again, and you could have created an entire game revolving around properly playing through raids to earn everything, even if you came in 10 years late.

I don't think admin abuse is the biggest concern for a /vm/ server, more the lack of players if your main goal is pvp. /vg/ is overrun with deranged trannies so those are the kind of people you play with. /vm/ is way more chill and normal. If you just want to have more of a shared single-player experience with the rare chance for pvp then I think it could work. You just have to go into it understanding that it will most likely be a small population.

Eight years ago, actually. The rights to Conan have a pretty bizarre history since around 2011. The method by which Paradox originally acquired them is questionable enough that Stan Lee's company tried to sue over them. It's also questionable whether or not Tencent "owns" the rights. Legally, Funcom owns them and that makes a substantial difference in IP ownership. If Funcom were to be dissolved, the rights would theoretically revert to public domain. I'm not certain the rights could be transferred to Tencent without opening a legal Pandora's Box considering the other parties with limited rights to the franchise.

Like I said, there's some weird stuff about it all, but Funcom's acquisition of Cabinet was in 2018. Prior to that, Cabinet had acquired the rights through Paradox sometime before 2011. There's a legal papertrail for it, but it's very obscure and I can't be assed to research it. It is an interesting story, though. I went down the rabbit hole as a fan of Howard's work and became increasingly depressed regarding the rights status.

At least Exiles is pretty faithful, since it's likely all the Conan we'll get for a long, long time.

Based on their blog post there's going to be two versions of the game: "Legacy" (UE4) and "Enhanced" (UE5). If you're playing on a private server or in a single-player campaign, you can just choose to ignore Enhanced and continue playing on Legacy forever. It won't receive any more updates, and the microtransaction store is getting turned off and moved to Enhanced, and obviously all the public servers are going to be moving to Enhanced, but if you want to stay in your own pre-update game forever you can do that.

I just realized that the move to UE5 might fix a stupid little bug that has bothered me since this game came out: if you play in local single-player there are sound effects when you block attacks with a shield. There are even sound effects when you swing simultaneously and both weapons pass through each other. For some reason these sound effects aren't there in online play and it sucks because they really add to the feel of combat.

Lol. I run my singleplayer game at less than 1X xp gain because I hated how even at that the level up rate around noob river was way too fast. No lie, there were times where I'd be lvl 10 before I even got to the Sentinels.

Everything goes on sale pretty regularly. Except for Isle of Siptah, it's all cosmetic stuff. Completely optional. Siptah is worth it for about 1.5x more content than the base game, especially now that the update is merging the two maps.

I've been playing with everything on high (except lumen) and it's been running super nice (no dlss or 'performance boosts' either), but I agree with what a lot of people have been saying about the water. The waves are nice but it's definitely way too clear and the total lack of any kind of wake/interaction with it is incredibly jarring. The clarity of it and the how little the visuals are refracted really makes it hard to gauge how deep in the water you are.

Friend mentioned new graphics etc update, decided to reinstall and tryh it. I haven't played this in a long ass time, apparently since before the big combat update, because I don't remember it working at all like this. What the actual fuck is this? I run up to an NPC and do a heavy spear hit, they run into it, stagger, interrupt their stagger, and do some overanimated ballet dance with a mace for like 7 swings. I even got a hit off midway and they just shrugged it off. The fuck is this? How do you even deal with 2-3 at once constantly spamming attacks that slide them forward 10 feet? Seriously what the hell happened? It wasn't good before but damn. Least it's prettier. I think.

Use a heavy weapon like a 2h mace or sword that has wide arc swings and can hit multiple enemies at once, then back up and keep your space to do it again.

Also there's poise like dark souls so heavy armor or big enemy bosses will tank staggers, vice versa if you wear heavy armor on your character and there's skill point passives to be more tanky as well.

that's a major reason why they dropped console/UE4 support to the legacy version, their current teams provided by tencent work in UE5, all their dune content, UE5, they know how to use UE5, meaning they can now develop a game that was in maintenance mode.

i've always been convinced that the breasts looking like implants is actually a bug.
In the inv menu the breasts sag realistically and the physics doesnt bug out like it does (or did havent trued enhanced).
I think the boobs are actually supposed to sag from gravity a bit.
They could easily add more bones and what not to improve the boob physics and boob deformation

lol it's limited in what it can do because it's just extra sliders on the base model, but yes, there's like four different boob-related sliders. I don't know how it compares to legit coomer mods because I don't use those but it's more involved than the base game, at least. I understand it's far less in-depth than dedicated customization mods like ToT. I just use it because a lot of the thralls look ugly and IQoL is an easy way to access their sliders and hair/beard options in the same way that you'd edit your own character in the character creator.

The boob sliders in IQoL do let you make saggers. There's width, spacing, up/down placement, and rotation so with effort you could even make some banana tits if you wanted (in theory, in practice they may look weird).

Also lets you more greatly adjust the height of your character. I usually make mine rather short because otherwise the camera gets too claustrophobic for my liking in any one-floor buildings.

Tons of servers have outrageously high pings in the browser that shouldn't, and even the lower ping servers are laggy as fuck to actually play on.
