all of the good aspects and uniques have been made exceptionally rare. I’m in torment 12 and still haven’t found arbiters zephyr aspect nor an argent veil. I’ve killed duriel about 15 times since that’s the amount of greater keys I’ve found and still nothing.

most people just don't know how to do it yet. You roll ancestral whites (or blue/yellow with a star affix or whatever the fuck this game calls them) and then roll your 4 using items to target the RNG. Once you get 3, you can roll the last one at the mystic, temper it, reroll the aspect % if you need, and then do that one that is likely to prevent you from rerolling if you want to risk it

i've completed virtually everything in the season, pushed past 100 in the pit, finished all of the seasonal journey quest stuff, etc etc and I still haven't seen the arbiter's zephyr aspect

Why isn't the cube letting me upgrade this to unique? does it not work on ancestral common items?

So, what do I do with gear now? Should I still salvage it or is there something I'm supposed to do with the cube? Affixes and aspects on rares seems prohibitively expensive the way it used to do them, so am I supposed to nix that stuff and just go all in on cube?

Anyone else challenging themselves and taking it slow? I missed out on playing with my friend group for reasons so I figured since I'm not in a rush I'll try starting out on the highest difficulty and treat it like a challenge run.
Didn't work out it took 10 minutes to kill the first pack of mobs. So I had to drop it to the second highest difficulty but that's been the perfect sweet spot. Every bit of gear looks enticing and a blue drop feels rewarding.
I'm having to look at skills and passives in a whole new light like taking ones that give me some healing and stuff like that. It's been pretty fun so far, not sure how long I'll play like this but it's a nice change of pace from the gogogo blasting mode the game wants you to play normally.
Finding my first yellow was life changing then I just killed the underground boss and 4 yellows dropped I almost creamed my pants. If I get strong enough I'll try bumping the difficulty back up to max.

the progress sure is slow but steady this season. i've been in a ton of time so far and I'm just now able to spam out 10ish billion damage per hit. I still have a bit of optimizing to do but I doubt hammerdin is gonna be going much further than pit 110.

It’s pretty hilarious how much stronger layer bosses are now. Like in previous seasons the layer bosses could only scale up to T4 (equivalent of pit 65 now) but with the changes to torment you can get layer bosses scaled up to pit 100. Even with billions of damage per second they still take forever to kill.

Paladin is such a well executed concept D4 that it's not even a contest. Plus Warlocks are supposedly at the height of their power in D4 while looking like hobos you'd pass by in LA or Detroit. In comparison the D2R Warlock is elegant and commands much more respect.
Funny that right now in D4 the only thing Warlocks got going for them is the fact of being purposely overtuned so they will play better i.e. push content more then other classes.

That being said I'm enjoying Pally and Barb (after the update) the most. Cool classes whose models don't make me lose sleep over either.

Just starting out anywhere between T1-T4 is reasonable
I HIGHLY recommend taking the grigorie knight warplan keystone. I think it's the lair boss tree? It spawns a knight (damn near Everytime) you open a helltide chest. The knight drops like 1-3 legendaries guaranteed. That was the fastest way to farm up aspects for me

In the case of when you're levelling, the weapon with the higher dps is almost always more important. So right is probably better despite the damage based affixes - but you'll be replacing it relatively quickly while levelling anyway.

At the very least you can reroll the unique aspect value in the cube if you can land other useful affixes. Saying that, I've rerolled one before that landed on the exact same value so I effectively just deleted a fairly rare mat for nothing

please heed my warning if you're hearing this. if you're running war plans on t10+ DO NOT take the butcher fight if you see it as an option. i don't know if it's bugged or something but he had hundreds of quintillions of health. i can do any of the lair bosses on t12 basically instantly but this was like a 20 minute fight.
