If Yugioh has taught me anything, it's that you can't beat the meta with a really bad off meta strategy. It doesn't matter how much you like a certain card or archetype, the meta decks will usually be stronger, easier to play, and far less of a headache.The advice I'd give oshi gamers is to reserve at least one or two slots for meta units and keep the last slot for your oshi. At the very least, bring one top tier meta unit alongside two oshis. Running three oshis is probably not going to end well, and trust me, you'll learn that lesson the same way I did in Yugioh. It was a harsh and expensive lesson, but I learned it, and eventually you will too.So if you're losing with your oshis, plan ahead and rethink your pulls going into GL. If you want to play competitively, you need to bring at least some of the meta staples, just like in Yugioh.And I'm saying this as someone who used to seethe about Tearlaments. After playing the deck for a while, I became one of its biggest fans. I absolutely loved that deck, and now I'm still seething because Merrli is probably never coming back. Either way, the good thing is that you're shooting for a Sprinter so you can still make it work. If you've got a parent with some turf or sprint sparks, making a Sprint Falco would be the strongest thing but otherwise Bakushin or El should be fine. Make sure it has a good Groundwork lineage as well on the Seiun since you really would like that to help insure you get out to the front even on a Late start, and aim for mostly power sparks with a touch of speed being fine. The nice thing about MANT is that so much of your stats don't come from training, so plug your Uma into https://race.daftuyda.moe/ and restrict it to only A aptitudes, and you should still be able to get through the career just fine as long as you're buying front skills as they come, starting with Angling.

In tandem with Daring Strike that means she's got more mid-race than your Taishin, even without the Professor of Curvature there which can activate kinda late. I'd say that's probably the main difference. Do you know what position your Taishin is in when late race starts? I would imagine it's the very back and not because they're moving too far ahead? If that's the case you just need more mid-race stuff. End/mile corners + tail held high, no uma stan also hurts

I think there's some unluckiness, but in general your Halo and Tama have better mid-race, so they overtake Taishin and your Taishin becomes unable to activate Nemesis. Tama has one more skill, and Halo has +3 and corner skills, which in general are better than straight skills for CM14.
