MTX utility mounts would probably kill it right then and there for me alone. Because that's a very out of touch view of why people want the old games. Sleepy Shelly is one of the key figures responsible for the state of d4. He *was* the game director so he had to greenlight overall direction of the game (so major story arcs, itemization, balancing etc.).
What they've shown with D5 is atm a reaction to all the mistakes that are being made in D4 and which are rooted in its foundation. Foundation which Shelly helped to make.

Honestly after blizz fired og team and new ones were given D4 development a fuckup was bound to happen, these guys have no vision. It kinda shows with D5 story snippets too. Spoiling how D4 ends (Diablo won), and thrusting us again into the same arc we've been through with lilith. Hell wank, everything has to be morally grey, it's just plain boring. I get it it's diablo and the world is supposed to be bleak but even in d3, hell even in d2, there was always some measure of hope in the world. Honestly Jennifer Hepler isnt that bad and a lot of the shit that happened with Dragon Age was falsley attributed to her. And also in retrospect DA2 was not as bad in comparison to what the series would become, and by then she was gone.

The way Dragon Age worked is that specific writers wrote specific things and it turns out she wrote a lot of the more decent stuff of Origins and 2, and a lot of the shit can be attributed to Patrick Weekes specifically, who became the lead writer on Veilguard. And the rest of the bad stuff was someone called Mary Kirby (aka GIGGLESQUEEEE)

You know what makes me mad? Besides the obvious rug pull, it’s the fact that they sell this as “OK, we fucked up beyond belief—here’s our new chance,” and it’s not true! Diablo IV was not fucked up on a fundamental level; it was easily fixable. But their latest changes fucked up the difficulty (Torment à la Diablo 3) and Mythics (why!?). Skill trees were OK on LoH; items were on a good track (Cube and Charms). The thing is, people want the build that one streamer made and to be done with the season in one day, and the devs build the game around that. So here’s a question: why would Diablo V be different? They showed items—AGAIN, they had “Critical Damage” and “Shadow Crit Chance.” Don’t sell me Diablo V as a new chance because we “fucked up” Diablo IV. This is Blizzard lying about long-term support for Diablo IV, doing a rug pull after selling MTX, and losing all sense of direction for what to do with the franchise (Netflix series for normie engagement). Here’s a thought: would normies like D IV more, or a game like D1/D2? What a fucking disgusting rug pull.

Going through campaign for the nth time isn't exactly thrilling either nor is slaving away in the currency mines. There's too much busywork to play with in order to play poe.
