Hi, I'm a tired dad gamer in his late thirties.I really wanted to like Arc Raiders, and for a while I did. I find the setting and base playstyle super compelling. Here's the catch. I work a job, I take care of my kids, and I find myself with only an hour or so a night to game. I found myself taking 2-3 days to farm the resources needed to achieve a respectable trial score, making my run in my typical friendly oriented lobby, and then making a heart-pounding adrenaline-fueled extraction as someone tries to kill me at the elevator. That or I would die and I lose several days of progress in a blink. It would ruin my night of sleep, and I found myself asking: "Why am I doing this to myself?"Maybe a younger me with less responsibilities would be able to enjoy this more. Now, though, I'm uninstalling.

That initial 4 month roadmap from the New Year really seemed like a mistake. It set up this rapid, triple-A content cadence that could not be maintained by a double-A studio while also sorting out all the other issues like cheaters, resets, and reworking systems like Expedition and Trials. That content schedule also set player expectations too high for the pacing moving forward, leading them to get burned in May when Frozen Trail was announced to be 5 months out.I know hindsight is 20/20, so this reads like a smart-assed comment, but even in January I would've been more excited to see a big expansion dated months out, with some Expedition and Trials stuff sprinkled between.
