It functions essentially the same as an MMO: your characters are saved on the server and practically everything you do is handled server side. The server is currently closed, but I will be opening it in the next day or two. In the meantime, look over the website and read how things work on Frenfall. If you want to play when it opens then setup a separate DFU folder with all of the required mods and whatever UI/cosmetic mods you want.
