Once you clear out the Yellow shop of all the good stuff, it's probably worth dumping an ungodly amount of stamina into the Red shop's 8k souls. The default farming stage is ~17k souls per stamina, but the Red event shop is ~21k souls per stamina if you only have Witch, Nocturna, and Acheronte as your bonus dolls. Plus you can sometimes get other drops in those stages as well. It goes even higher if you pull Nannar or Metamorphosis. It's like dumping your stamina into the level 6 souls farming stage, except you get an extra ~120k soul (or more, if you roll for the UR dolls) and also get other random ascension materials or skill materials at the same time

In case anyone needs reminding, Metamorphoses is good for Saltstone teams, but Saltstone is generally a pretty bad element because old Witch never split Mercury/Brimstone/Saltstone and instead split Physical/Magical, and Brimstone just ends up being better at Physical than Saltstone, and Mercury ends up being better at Magic than Saltstone. The only time they ever split M/B/S was for the Chinese New Year boss I think it was, where certain elements got a buff or debuff depending on the boss, but the best strat was to just use Amanami and Shuffle UEs to kill the boss since they had a shit ton of HP and not a lot of DefenseAt the end game, Meta was used very seldomly in rankings as a sacrifice doll where you reset the fight until you got her ATK buff or her Def buff, whichever one you were going for and then let her die

My Phys team sucks so bad. Catherine should be coming soon, which is good, but I don't know which DPS I want to invest in. Celanya is good, but I just don't like her. Matveiffe is good, and I like her, but she is (or at least was) the next battlepass doll, and they didn't add those to the general pool until after the battlepass was completed, so she's a long way away for me. I almost want to go with Shuffle even if it means that I'd need to max invest her (and other units) to really get anything out of her, but maxing her out and investing her necessary support dolls might take even longer than waiting for Matveiffe

She's still a really good first physical tank until Catherine, and she was "free" in the petal shop, but Catherine is the real Brimstone tank, not Caledonia.Second, Caledonia still does have a place in highly optimized runs. Her Phsyical Defense shred is higher than Catherine's. Caledonia shreds up to 100% of her own Pdef, while Catherina only shreds 60% of her own Pdef. There are occasions where, for scoring/leaderboard purposes and not really that often (if at all) for clearing purposes, you would want Caledonia rather than Catherine, or maybe in addition to Catherine, but Catherine is the actual Brimestone tank that you use for tanking purposes.

You'll probably also be naturally pulling, which gives you gold petals, and the new PvP mode gives you 20 gold petals per month I think (10 petals every 2 weeks), so you will have enough gold petals to be buying the dolls that you "need", and Caledonia was one of them. You can skip Akasha easily because we got Celanya for free. Afallen is getting a rerun so you can pull her now or you can wait till next month and buy her from the shop for "free", but also you might be able to skip her depending on the order of events. Tuonel of Night and Kapla were the Chinese New Year dolls, and they came after Catherine. We don't know if they're going in straight up release order, meaning some combination of Sher, Cersivey, Tuonel of Night, and Kapla should be next, or if they are going to save the dolls to correspond with the events that they originally released for. I'd say Tuonel of Night is a better tank than Afallen, but we don't know for sure that she's coming soon. Then Mineer and Goorvieg are both bullshit, so you have a couple save months, but then there's Amanami, Tuonel, and Cahterine, which you should buy if you do not have at that point but you probably will if you're playing right now, and then it's a whole bunch of nothing for the entire rest of the game so you can kinda be spending your gold petals however you feel like. She seems good, like she'd have more uses than that, but unfortunately the Magic Mercury team is very solidified as being Amanami/Eddine/[DPS] and so there isn't really a place for her on a main team in the grand scheme of things. I will probably be rolling for her since it's looking like we don't get ToN until CNY (her original event), which is next year. Very good in PvP as well, for the same reasons ToN is - dmg based on self Max HP.

Now that they have posted more about it on TapTap, it seems like the thing they're upset about is that the Dream Maelstrom (they call it "Spiral") battlepass no longer gives out UE upgrade materials. I do now remember that the Ella pass gave out 1 crystal for free, and maybe some more for paid. I wonder if Witch is still going to give out insane UE materials for event battlepasses though. I still think it's totally insane that for $10 during Nannar's event you could essentially buy an entire maxed out UE. That's some of the best value I've ever seen in a gacha. The beach girl, I forget her name, her Evo gives her a double helping of HP, so she could end up being a pretty decent tank but she has no UE. Norn probably wont get you speed clears, but she seems feasibly good if you had her at Evo3 and bothered to max out her UE. Yui becomes even better, but she still doesn't have a UE. The Phoenix girl is a tank and gets a shit ton of both defenses and HP and she actually has a UE (counter attack). Pretty much any rarity tank can end up having 60k HP, and SR tanks are really easy to get to Evo3. I like this change. I really wish they had started off this way so that I didn't throw away all my shards, but I like it.. as long as they don't start catering to whales. You don't get UE effects, but the stats can almost give a pseudo UE to the SR units if you really liked one of them and wanted to use them.

Notice how on the leaderboards all of the Tuonel teams are physical and not magic. Now that Eddine exists, Tuonel is pretty much only for Physical teams unless the boss has lower HP and you can blitz it. For bosses, you should usually think of Amanami as a DPS who heals rather than just a healer. On nm10 (and probably on nm9, I didn't check my damage meter) Amanami will pretty much always be doing more damage than Mayahuel unless maybe your Maya is completely cracked out with a lvl 60 UE and insane substat rolls on her gear, just due to how much HP the things have. In GL, we didn't have a magic DPS that outdamaged Amanami until Shiroi came out. Maybe Goddess Dana can outdamage Amanami too, but mine didn't. And if you check this screenshot >>1836402 it really drives home the point that after a certain HP threshold, Amanami (and Shuffle) is the best DPS in the game because she deals percentage based damage. The nm10s have low enough HP that Magic DPS units can still potentially outdamage Amanami, but my Maya at least is not doing more damage than my Amanami. Maybe a whale Maya is, but mine's not. Unless you need a tank, or unless it's a boss with lower HP total (like the Path not Taken bosses), you should pretty much always try to put Amanami on your magic teams. There were even times in GL where I was near the top of the leaderboard on some fights using Amanami, Eddine, and Tuonel of Night (sac Cersivey) - which is a team that doesn't even actually have a real DPS. Look at your damage meters after a fight sometime - you might be surprised at just how little damage Maya actually does compared to Amanami on fights where the boss has ~11 mil or more HP. For me, it's more like Maya is the support unit and Amanami is the all in one hyper carry.

But also, me and the other guy have a time of 55-60 seconds on nm9, and you posted a time of ~190 seconds on nm8, so I think the Amanami damage is really huge. (I'm just assuming he was also using Amanami, I don't actually know, he might even be using a physical team). If you beat the fight, then you beat the fight and time doesn't actually matter, but more damage helps win before the enrage. What I do sometimes, because we don't have Cersivey yet, is if my Amanami is dying instantly as a tank, you can put like an ungeared Afallen in as a sacrifice, which buys you some time to generate some energy, then you can press Eddine S1 to start the enhanced energy generation, and then you let Afallen die to bring in Amanami, then you switch to auto. That can help kick start things. It might not always work, but kick starting a fight by buying time to generate some energy for Eddine's S1, pressing it, then switching to auto is a strat I used a bunch in GL.

Man, Shuffle is really bad on this week's boss. The boss resets its HP when it changes phase, and she does damage based on how much HP is missing, so she's at her weakest power two separate times here. I can only beat nm7 with her.
