This is a thread to talk about Compass: Combat Providence Analysis System, a free-to-play game by NHN PlayArt and Dwango.
This is supposed to be one of Japan's biggest games?
>>1849047No? It's just old
>>1849257It has a very dedicated fanbase
I mainly know this game because it has two or three anons on 4chan who keep shilling it.
>>1849047Just within Japan, yes, within it's own genre. The biggest mobile moba in Japan.https://sensortower.com/ja/blog/compass-stand-outs-in-japan-mobile-moba
>>1863723I only know that this game has some really dedicated fans on 4chan
Is there even a Western fanbase for this game outside the three or so anons that keep talking about it on /mbgg/?
>>1872096>is there even a western fanbase for (insert untranslated game)?there is your answer
>>1872098Hasn't stopped other games before, and it has a couple of very dedicated fans on /mbgg/.
So why does no one want to talk about it? It can't just be because it's untranslated: plenty of games without official translations still have a fanbase.
i need to know if this game is actually good
The game has three fans on 4chan and not one of them wants to talk about it here.
apparently the new final fantasy dissidia game's made by this game's developers and is very close in gameplay to Compass. Really hope if that game flops (very likely) they finally release the game in english
>>1881756It's good. 9th anniversary soon so. might want to try during that time.
>>1887676Then why doesn't it have a global or a fan TL
>>1890361Global would be hard for server reasons and IP license stuff with all the collabs. Fan TL could work if it somehow still sticks after every patch, not sure how that would work though. But would need it to have enough things worth translating for a fan TL to be worth it. This would be worth it for a story and text heavy game but this isn't it.
>>1890602>Global would be hard for server reasons and IP license stuff with all the collabs. It's worked for other games.
>>1892608Other games don't need great servers because most are essentially mostly single player experience attached to an online shop. Most the other pvp ones are turn-based and don't require good servers. Also, a lot of global games have some collabs but that's in much less frequency. Global really limits how many collab they can have.
