Esca fight is dogshit. The guy seems to target at random, forcing you to provoke. Angeal cant bring his earth debuff without giving up a slot for provoke or pdef up. Barret can provoke and pdef up, but he cant earth imperil. They really want you to pull for glenn, but that aint happening. Maybe they dont expect you to avoid the stun with veil, but that sure seems like what they want.

This is the team I beat Escalation 20 with, but is just not quite hitting the DPS check for 25. Its close enough that I think level 10 memoria will drive it home. How do I deal with the massive def down with enfeeble? I simply dont give a shit. My squishiest character is at 700 PDEF, Glenn has 1100 and can apply 50% resistance and big veil to shrug off the big hits. On a fight as short at this there's about 100% uptime on 10% HP gain thanks to Lucia so healers are not needed. You just use Lucia to refill the command meter after the boss takes it away and and then drop a fat summon during the vulnerable phase.

Glenn's UW let's him start at +3 PDEF so the initial hit brings him back to neutral and using veil to take 0 damage prevents the debuff going through. It does eventually put him to -5 enfeebled, but it takes longer to get him there. Then like I said, you use the UW to block the scary attacks and just keep cruising. I assume the better way to do the fight is using Yuffie's watch or something, but this way is much funnier to me.

It was never supposed to just win fights for you or whatever, but now it does shit like switching to defense when it sees Ifrit about to use Hellfire, then 1 second before it goes off, it will switch back to attack mode so you take full damage. I forget exactly which fight is was, but some recent fight had multiple stream phases and the characters would break all the sigils no problem during the first phase, but during the second phase they would just sit there and overcap on ATB doing actual literal nothing. It's legitimately the worst Auto I've ever encountered in all of gaming.

Sub gear like Aerith's reprieve or Zack's bunny outfit and of course Zack's sword at OB6 and you're good. My account might be able to handle her on semi/manual, the main problem I was having is that Aerith insisted on attacking even with stupid shit like Wind Breach and then she wouldn't have the ATB to save people, so I gave her only heals. If I gave her the egg staff for the extra HP and slight boost to team DPS, then just actually controlled her it'd probably be fine. Of course if you have Lightning's Rod or Abraxas slap those in there and you'll be cruising

Matt's wind materia are just heal stat sticks so I'd also recommend just giving him heals like I did with Aerith on the fire team because he will try to attack with them
I bricked these rolls. I rolled on yuffie, but I didn't roll on her AC stuff. My only hope now is Clouds outfit and weapon being useful. Also wish they would buff the anniversary weapons. They are really weak now.

Auto everything including LB and OS 300 clears. Takes forever and therefore score sucks because the dummies just break the interrupt sigil and don't do the damage sigils, but the builds are budget and the effort is 0. If you're willing to actually play the game the Sephiroth team is better because Genji's passive makes the damage sigils crazy.

Heartbreaking really. This game could have been so good and we could have gotten a decent before crisis remake out of it. Instead it's just 30 min of daily menuing and auto battle until eos. The only highlight being this general

Making it to the end of those while they were current was legitimate smile on my face fun. Also team building was less restrictive. I will say that in year 3 because weapons do so much, you can get a little creative with them again since you don't have to build around the one and only source of enfeeble or whatever, but that's only if you're buying current weapons which are 75% limited which is ass and the fights aren't generally as fun.
