However, Jap numbers are quickly dropping, meaning that if it manages to pick up in China and Global, it's at best going to make up for the support that JP provided and dropped. It's in a bit of a pickle, and you can tell given how desperate the coomer content seems. Almost like they realized JP was their lifeline, so they decided to pander to that. But there are better waifu gacha out there that dominate JP, like Blue Archive, etc.... so it's trying to cut a pie out for itself in the most competitive space because the gothic hook wasn't good enough.We'll know exactly where things stand a few months from now, but it's definitely not looking good. $1,000,000 a month is the bare minimum gachas need to be able to keep up maintenance and ongoing development costs. Once it falls below that, they start bleeding money, and it dipped below last month, which is like what, 5 months after launch? A drop in the player base is always expected, but a 90% drop after 5 months, especially with a below average initial install base is disastrous. That's the problem. Even if SaB manages to stabilize, it'll stabilize below maintenance costs. Which means that the likelihood Moonton will pull the plug to reduce loses is high. We'll see how the half Anniversary looks, but I think we'll be lucky to see it make it to the full year Anniversary. It's not looking good.

They've slowed down the content schedule to 4 weeks per patch, cheaped out on event stories with the new VN format and no more voice acting, kept adding more incentives for rolling extra dupes, released bosses that require the latest units. Now they went back on their generous promise of always makes the 2nd new unit free, not by easing us into it, but instead by pivoting into making the 2nd unit rarer than Ancestral banners were supposed to be, when the two characters have kits that require each other to work. Doomposting about end of service is annoying but you also have to be blind not to see the desperation here.

And that is really fucking lame, as the only content the game has, is basically that with a million progression checkpoints.Imagine if SaB was designed like Darkest Dungeon instead. Where you had more direct control over your units and their actions. And battles were determined more by actual tactics and team composition. Such design would have even let them introduce the concept of learnable skills for vassals and so on. So the game becomes more crunchy, like Pokemon. That would have even let the Duplicate system work much better, where you might want to roll for dupes of vassals in order to endow them with different moves and stat growths, etc....Battles would be more fun this way as there'd be way more experimentation, and kinda grit to it. Even if metas are discovered.Getting new characters would have much more meaningful.
This could also have come with a fun rouge-like dungeon crawler mode, which this could have been the mode you grind over and over again to raise your vassals and stuff to your current level cap, rather than the current blood transfusion system where you just raise 5 vassals and put the rest on the bench, but that has to be gated too, because otherwise you'd blow through all the little content the game has immediately.What I mean to say is, there could have been a cool game here, but the design is just not there, and what is there is kinda boring. Which is why the game is dying. There's just nothing to do. And all the cool designs and animations and music is just going to waste.

The progression walls at the end of the game are downright infuriating.You're hard capped by Soli, and Tomes, etc... while having to upgrade armor, and skills, and levels, and you're given fucking peanuts for resources day in and day out.And for what? The content is fucking boring as shit. I can see why a lot of people started dropping this game 2 months after.I started playing in September. The first month is a lot of fun, you're progressing quickly, getting tons of stuff, the story is engaging.A month after, you start hitting your first few walls at around Summerset Isle, and progression slows, but you're given clear goals and tons of content to still progress in.2 months in, you've maxed out most of the content, all you have are the story which is being dragged to shit with CONSTANT walls. Hard mode is fucking impossible. The boss fights are pointless, where the only one you can really engage with are the event ones, which are basically gated behind the new characters. And the events which fucking suck nuts.I'm currently hard stuck at ch.17-2, with 104,000 BP. And hard mode at 5-1 which is fucking impossible even with a team of T.Aonia, Quinn, Bella, Seth, and Letitia. Because you simply just don't do enough fucking damage to make up the 30,000 BP difference. And I can't even get to the fucking Peacemaker, because it's locked behind progression in story, which is hard capped at ridiculous progression barriers, because BP is ultimately the only stat that matters.All I can do is log in, do my chores, improve a fraction of my skills or gear on a single character, attempt Story again, get btfo, get pissed, roll on the new banner, get shit, and fuck off. The game would have been way more fun that way as there'd be a greater sense of satisfaction when playing, and that type of designed would have lended itself much better to modes that offer better replay value. The reason end-game contents is basically nonexistent, is because as you said, you either clear something or don't. That's it. There's no replayability factor at all.

The aeons event is incredibly bad. I am pretty sure that there is some hidden BP requirement which is extremely scummy. And it more or less shows the problems with the game or rather the lack of game.

For story pushing, yeah, outside of the golden team of Acappella/Bella/Quinn/TAiona/FBella every single other unit is dogshit unusable but that's because only TAiona, by virtue of her mechanics, can overcome high BP deficit and all those other units are there to enable her. For clan/solo hunt, you have curated content where a bunch of units will be forced to work like the synergy teams. Funny enough, there has been no content so far where the summon team has been even usable, let alone good, the one stage in clan hunt that needed summoners was made so that summoning stuff just added dmg cards to your hand so your units didn't even matter.
