This is an upcoming Animal Crossing-like by Hoyoverse.2nd Closed Beta is on now, anyone get into it?
>>2022742>these ugly overdesigned characterseasy skip
>>2022791I like most of them. Chinese kemono/furry characters tend to have more fluffy fur and exotic colors than Japanese ones, and since they are supposed to be aliens their odd designs fit in the game.
>>2023197>supposed to be aliens>literally just overdesigned animals, except they look ugly
Hoyo is pretty consistently bad about writing, lots of slop storylines that go on far too long with characters repeating the same information. I dunno if they could do a comfy game, the moment you start skipping dialogue is when it stops being comfy.
>>2023422I watched some of the beta and that's exactly the case. A whole bunch of trivial blabbering before it lets you try the game mechanics yourself. These Nintendo knockoffs never seem to get the game design part right.
>>2023478>>2023310Happens in Infinity Nikki too, must be a China thing I guess, Anywho I’m in the Beta will be on my pc later, AMA.Btw, it’s pretty intensive battery wise, I assume it’s just unoptimizedzed and will. Be fixed in the full version
>>2023480back, once again, AMA
>>2023478>A whole bunch of trivial blabbering before it lets you try the game mechanics yourselfSounds like they are using New Horizons ands its one week long tutorial as reference.
The inventory space in this game is unlimited so hoard everything you can. Also seems like the monetization is probably gonna be seasonal passes you can get exclusive furniture/clothing from
>>2023548new horizons was soulful and had entertaining dialoguethis shit has literal aislop dialogueshittoyo fans are literal bootlickers lol
I've never heard of this but I already know it will be called reddit planet
>>2023571>The inventory space in this game is unlimited so hoard everything you can.Is this for the pocket inventory or for wardrobes and such?>Also seems like the monetization is probably gonna be seasonal passes you can get exclusive furniture/clothing fromBig if true. Gacha elements are instant black flags for this kind of games.>>2023578>new horizons was soulfulNH is the most soulless game in the franchise, even worse than the mobile game and the Mario Party clone for Wii U. It's a worse The Sims that cemented Animal Crossing as a digital doll house instead of being a comfy town simulator like the previous entries. It also came out with almost no content and even to this day it still has less stuff than the 3DS game.>and had entertaining dialogueMH has the worst dialog system. Not only it's worse than in every previous entry due to NoA being full of faggots, but because the game now lets players pick their villagers to keep them forever instead of letting them come and go, conversations are even more boring because everyone seeks the same 3 personalities to brag about them online and miss 90% of the conversations that are exclusive to the other personalities or locked behind specific scenarios. Letting the player become God amdhave complete control ofthe island was the worst mistake of the franchise.
>>2023600>Is this for the pocket inventory or for wardrobes and such? Both actuallyWould it be ok if I posted other things you can do in the game? I don't want to come off as a shill.>Big if true. Gacha elements are instant black flags for this kind of games.A bit of warning though, this game does have some AI chatbots in it, one of them is in game help about gameplay, the otherse are in the Galactic Bazaar, the games big multiplayer hub and place to claim season pass items. However, the chatbots are more meant to help guide interplayer interaction, including word games, a cafe and stuff.
>>2023600Also the pass items are redeemed using a currency you obtain from the game's equivalent of the Nook Miles system, which has achivements and dailies. They give out two currencies, regular Loomi, which can be used for special non-pass items like batteries to do starsea traveling, and MiraiLoomi, which is used for the battle pass stuff. I think in the full game you'll be able to buy a purple looking-currency that can be exchanged for MiraiLoomi
>>2023606>Would it be ok if I posted other things you can do in the game? I don't want to come off as a shill.Sure. I'm curious about how neighbors work in the game compared to AC.>Do they come and leave as they please like in the early games or do you get to chose who stays like in the newer entries? >How many regular and special NPC are in the beta and how complex are their dialogue pools?>Is your player a regular townie or a pseudo-mayor that controls the fate of everything and everyone on the game?>How bug is the map and how many NPC can have?>How boring is to play alone with just the NPCs?>Can other players come to your world uninvited?>What's the "chilling in your town like in the GC game VS micromanaging the town like in NH" ratio of this game?>How much of the NPC dialogue is AI generated and how "natural" are the AI conversations?>Can NPCs be "rude" like in the GC game oratleast show more than one emotion, or are they always happy?>>2023607>They give out two currencies, regular Loomi, which can be used for special non-pass items like batteries to do starsea traveling, and MiraiLoomi, which is used for the battle pass stuff. I think in the full game you'll be able to buy a purple looking-currency that can be exchanged for MiraiLoomiDamn, sounds like this will be a mess of uncontrolled greed. Also what's this "starsea traveling"?Post images of the game if you can, btw.
>Do they come and leave as they please like in the early games or do you get to chose who stays like in the newer entries? As far as I know, they stay. >How many regular and special NPC are in the beta and how complex are their dialogue pools? There's only about 8 or 9 regular Neighbors in the game. 5 special NPCs. The Neigbors are FAR more detailed than in AC since they aren't just copy pasts of a pool of 8 different Personalites, they have friendship levels that unlock more things to do with them and special Perks each neighbor have, though some only unlock at certain bond levels, depends on the neighbor (one can water your crops that surround a Scarecrow, another gives you a free hat daily for 150 Dough, the games Bells, and they even have backstories, likes, dislikes, and even Furniture set's associated with them. Other friendship level rewards include taking photos, redecorating their houses, dressing them up, but what they can wear is limited by the if the neighbors and the clothes sizes match, there are unisize items too. There's also achivements associated with each neigbor and a special Planette level that gives you more recipies for their furniture sets and emotes. There's a wiki if you want more info. https://petitplanet.wiki/Neighbor>>How big is the map and how many NPC can have? It's a pretty decent size so far, you increase the size and features of the planet through story quests, some only appear the next day, like AC. They also increase the cap of neighbors you can have but the max cap is less then the neighbors in the game right now, probably increases in the full game.>How boring is to play alone with just the NPCs?Not really, just be aware there's a max amount of things you can do a day on your planet since it's a mobile game, you have a stamina gauge that can be refilled by eating food items and cooked meals, you have things you can craft, bugs, fish. You can chat with neighbors, give a gift daily and even eat meals with them.
>>2023613>>2023626Forgot to mention theres a Museum in this game too, so every creature you catch for the first time you should donate it too. Theres also a little scene that plays that gives you a little fact about the creature upon first catch>Can other players come to your world uninvited?Yes, but they can't harvest anything until you give them permission to, and even then only stuff that can respawn like fruit, flowers, grass, creatures, minerals, etc. No crops or things players drop.>>What's the "chilling in your town like in the GC game VS micromanaging the town like in NH" ratio of this game?A lot of chill, but upgrading your planet requires stuff like learning a certain amount of cooking recipes and stuff like increasing friendship levels>>How much of the NPC dialogue is AI generated and how "natural" are the AI conversations? The AI stuff is exclusively a few Grand Bazaar NPCs and, the in-game help.>>Can NPCs be "rude" like in the GC game oratleast show more than one emotion, or are they always happy? They definetely show more than one emotion but I don't think you can actually upset them>Damn, sounds like this will be a mess of uncontrolled greed. Not really the paid currency can only be used on seasonal pass items, and the Regular Loomi is exclusively free.>Starsea travelsYou have a car that you can use to explore islets and gather materials and specal "Luca drops" that upgrade your car and expand how far you can travel. You can take up to 2 neighbors with you and they'll help gather stuff, each villager has a select few types of items they're best at gathering. You also meet new neighbors this way, you have to meet them on one travel, complete a special quest after meeting them on another, then you can invite them to move in. You need a Luca Battery to travel, and only 2 of those are sold a day, again, bought with regular free Loomi
>>2023629again, there's a wiki in progress. Feel free to ask more. This is a CBT so things are subject to change. Also this game is pretty battery intensive, probably due to poor optimization, will probably changehttps://petitplanet.wiki/
>>2023613>>Is your player a regular townie or a pseudo-mayor that controls the fate of everything and everyone on the game?Forgot to answer this, but you are a "Planet Tender" who's role is to make the planet you settle on into your own image, so like the NH islands, and help the "Luca Tree, which affects the planet, grow, you can also earn Luca fruit that can change the planet's appearance like different field desgins, constellations, etc, you also can earn these fruit though maxing a neighbor's Planette level. You know how Hoyo has player names for people who play their games? Like Genshin has Travelers, Honkai Star Rail has Trailblazers, etc? Players are referred to as Planet Tenders.Forgot this but the Daily reset time is the same as most other Hoyo games, 5 am EST, 4 am EST when it's not Daylight savings.
I think they're focusing more on this game too, since Honkai Nexus Anima's CBT reception was so bad they're doing major reworks. I don't think a monster taming game and autochess mix very much
>>2023600>NH is the most soulless game in the franchiseand it's still more soulful than this crapimpressive
This game is even more battery intensive than Genshin, probably due to being a CBT and thus not optimized, and I'm using an Ipad Air from a few yeas back! This is also a data wipe test so I don't get to keep anything once it ends. It does serve as preview of what to focus on once the full game launches
>>2023629>>2023634Thanks for the answers. Every video review focuses on how you can decorare your house and take photos with the bnuuy without talking about the rest of the game.By the way you describe these starsea travels and tending the planet, it looks like NH is Hoyo's biggest inspiration for the game, which makes sense with how NH already feels like a gacha full of daily streaks, multiple currencies and NPCs that worship you.
>>2023644Yeah if you've played New Horizons, you know your way around most things. At least the Neighbors in this game have much more fleshed out personalities and mechanics.
can you fuck the villagers?
>>2022742Let's be honest if you can't marry your favorite villager they should just not bother at all
For the records the big goal in the Beta is getting the Luca tree to a high enough level that a Meteor Shower can happen on your planet, things after that are just Neighbor capacity upgrades and stuff like more Luca Fruit and increased crop capacity
>>2022742Is there any reason to play this game if I'm neither a woman nor a groomer?
>>2024123>only 2 good designs>one is a male and the other can't be a villagergrim
>>2022742Can't wait for the launch to be kind of interesting before the next update where we have to learn about the not!China region and characters and their 10000 year history.
>>2024123Waiting for the inevitable Pompom villager
CBT anon here, I pretty much did just about everything in the beta save for the critterpedia and the friendship raising stuff.Thoughts: Some aspects need serious work, the Starsea is bugged and doesn't tell you which islets have what materials and if you have all the Luca Drops on it, youre extremely restricted on what you can give other players/what they can harvest on your planet (and you have to be online so they can harvest to begin with and there's ultimately not a lot to do. Needs some more polish
>>2025457also even though the Neighbors each have different personalities and more details put into them then AC villagers, they could still use some work too,
>>2025457I forgot to mention, you can visit other People's planets even when they're offline, but you'll be limited to checking their shops and departing on Starsea Expeditions, The shops carry different inventory and a Greenhouse special which certain crops sell for more or less that changes daily, and that can be different between Planets, think Turnips, except they never spoil. For Starsea expeditions, there are 2 Galaxies in the game right now, Hexia and Taffeh, visiting a planet from a Galaxy different from the one your Planet's on let's you depart from there and explore the starsea on that galaxy, note that it's pretty bugged right now, and you end up finding all the neighbors regardless of galaxy anyway, some islets from the other galaxy even show up in your own.
How's the game regarding furniture, special events and activities? How much time do you spend per day?
>>2025473Furniture you mostly have to craft yourself, I said each villager has a furniture set associated with them, you get the recipe cards for those via rewards, raising bond and planette levels, and bond quests. There's a big collection menu that rewards you depending on how much of the game's items you found, however most of it is unaccessable safe for the creature stuff at least. Once you get to level 6 bond with a Neighbor you can redecorate their house with the furniture you have in your inventory. Again, inventory is unlimited in game. However there's a Star-system associated with this and getting 4/5 pretty much means decorating their house with most of/their entire furniture set. There's a quest involving getting a few villagers houses like that, remember gather EVERYTHING except digging up trees, There's no real special event or activities for this beta. I hope in the full version it doesn't do what Pocket Camp did and just have the same 3 events on repeat with different themes,
>>2025478also theres a menu in game that shows all the furniture recipes you know and it can organize them by set, making it easier to know what you need.Game uses "inspo-cards" basically DIY cards from NH, for learning how to make furniture and food. Furniture recipes can only be learned once, but food recepies can be learned to increase it's proficiency level (also increases every time you make that dish), which increases the chance of making a higher quality version of it, which restores more stamina, there's no stamina cap, but you can't just eat a whole bunch of stuff to stockpile it either.
>>2022742>what if we made genshit for kids and they're furry2026 Mihoyo everyone
>>2025473Now that I got most things done, not much at all, I just go check my crops, do dailies and check the Starsea. The only villager I have left to recruit is Rebella, described by the game as Gemsmith, and her introduction apparently has her on the run from some people. No idea what her unique villager perks are
>>2025478>Furniture you mostly have to craft yourselfInterest lost.
>literally the same shit as acnh>but with infinitely worse character designs, none of the charm, and gachaslop (with daily chores)kek
Shame to see that there doesn't seem to be much going on beyond the usual animal crossing gameplay wise. I can never stay interested in a mobile game long anyway but I was hoping for more though it is still early. I wish there was a new magicians quest game.A few cute designs though, needs a male version of the cute sheep/goat.
>>2025470>game called petit planet>gameplay not about going to other planets and recruiting/rescuing villagers from their problems while dungeon crawling or using craftable gadgetsDamn really...??? I was hoping it would be cool if they're harping on the Planet part of the game name. It really is Animal Crossing
>>2026050didn't you play honkai star rail?the game that has a literal train that can travel in spaceit's so disappointing that it doesn't even have actual aliensi haven't kept up with it, but i'm pretty sure it still doesn't explore on the concept of traveling to alien worlds and seeing alien life formsyou'll only see human-like people living in human-like worldsnever expect anything interesting from sloppoyothey're only good at regurgitating the same slop over and over again
>>2026447After Zenless Zone Zero I thought they would be adventurous with character designs and gameplayI guess not...
>>2026452zzz is the biggest disappointment, no doubtstarted off so ambitious and full of unique designs in the entire gacha market, only to end up being the blandest trash ever
>>2026457Yeah I'm considering a break from ZZZ at best after getting S Billy and possibly his W-engine.Related to this game...got an in-game notification saying the CBT ends on the 25th, it's a Beta wipe test so I probably won't participate in the next one, gonna wait for the full release.
>>2024308apparently there's a bit more than that afterwards,But yeah, final thoughts? It's alright but needs a lot of polish and QoL updates. Also either fix the optimization so doesn't drain batteries like a professional prostitute drains balls, or also put this game on consoles
What's crazy is this game has the cleanest and smoothest UI (when not laggy) in all hoyo even though it's a beta
