Is power creep a good thing?

Pokemon games are complete products in themselves, you are buying the next episode in a series of adventures. Game Freak could (and basically has) release a new generation where a vast majority of the new mons are weak garbage, it doesn't matter because the pvp is not how GF makes its money and power creep does not sell units. Nobody is buying SV because "OMG I can get new Primape evolution that shits all over older Pokemon!", they buy it to explore a new fucking region.The powercreep serves no purpose and is purely something GF is doing either out of spite or because they're incompetent assholes.

>>58181543Honestly, I do think a small amount of power creep is healthy.It's a new generation, so I think it's better for new Pokemon to dominate the meta and make it feel different from the last gens. It would be boring if a new gen came around and was still dominated by old Pokemon who already had their time in the spotlight.That said, gen 9's power creep is NOT a small amount.

I swear to Christ I remember John Gamefreak even tried to justify the dexit with "it's for balance reasons" only to release the least balanced mechanic and a set of obscenely unbalanced mons in spite of their empty promises.
