Dying early edition.

>New fire support

>Firebreather - Trainer - Supporter
Search your deck for up to 7 Basic [R] Energy cards and put them into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck.

>I want to learn the game, where do I begin?
Download PTCGL at https://tcg.pokemon.com/en-us/tcgl
The game has a quick tutorial and a bunch of decent decks to get you started against other beginners or against the AI. Some of those decks are very close to meta too. You can also go to your local game store and see if people are playing Pokémon.

>I know how to play, how do I make my own deck?
You have a decent beginner's guide at https://www.justinbasil.com/guide
There's also the old /tcg/ guide at https://imgur.com/a/W4NkOu6
After that, look up meta decks and try to reverse engineer them to see how things work.

>Where to find meta decks?
For big irl events, go to https://limitlesstcg.com/decks
For online events, go to https://play.limitlesstcg.com/decks?game=PTCG
For japanese events, go to https://pokecabook.com/archives/1417

Mega Venusaur bros..... This can't be happening. I was already getting full art versions of his evo line in anticipation FUCK
>>
>>58184172
It's always been charizard's franchise. They'll make sure mega blastoise is bad against it too
>>
>after 8 years a regional finally comes back to Seattle
About fucking time, fuck portland
>>
>>58184270
Why do you even want to go to a regional? You'll be spending money just to play a glorified coin toss. Like those faggots who travel countries just yo get bricked by their deck lmao.
>>
>>58184283
>anti-prize card
>doesn't play IRL
>sits in his moms basement
Go outside and touch some grass or you'll die like that fat ass with 15+ cats, lmao

Hi. I’m that guy from a few threads back who asked for deck building advice. I’ve played in several locals over the past month or so and stopped using that deck after the first local. Never won-won a match but I’ve come close a few times in recent ones and even got a “Bye!” from the computer rounding incorrectly.

Current decks:
>Team Rocket’s Tyrannitar/Persian EX (Guest staring the version of the cactus that hurts you every time you attack it. Because I enjoy cockblocking half the meta.)
>Misty’s Lugia EX(No Misty’s Psyduck, that card is shit.)
>Tera Sylvion/Tera Glaceon/Budew/That normal turtle that lets you search for any energy who’s name I forget.
>>
>>58184921
Fucking grim.
Like Rocket Mewtwo is bad enough yet you decide to run an even shitier version of the deck kek, the rest is plain janksloppa. If you want to cockblock the meta at least run Milotic.
>>
>>58184488
Free dark energy and free 20damage for your monkey
>>
>>58184921
>Tera Sylvion/Tera Glaceon
If you want a good Eeveelution deck, look into Flareon.
>>
what am I pulling?

How do I beat a Garchomp EX deck? It's almost impossible to prevent the setup and then it just stacks damage and spiritomb can kill at any moment after that, it's fucked
>>
>>
>>58188334
it depends on what deck you're using. what have you been playing?
>>
>>58188547
Gardevoir, no jellicent
>>
>>58188586
Ive always beaten the deck as garde with a charmed munkidori and mind bending the active while adrena braining everything else. there might be other ways to beat it because garchamp isn't very strong right now but this strategy has been working for me.
>>
>>58188627
But the problem is that when Garchomp EX sets up what is the play here? Even a boss' orders with many counters, spiritomb can just kill gard or any EX
>>
>>58188674
just avoid putting too much damage on their bench. spiritomb can't one shot a 160 hp munkidori unless theres 90 damage on their bench which is more than enough leeway to have. once their spiritomb is confused they either need to find switch, retreat, or flip heads. all options can buy you a turn or stop them from taking out garde. you can also see if tm devo works since some garde builds are adding it now even if they dont play the jelly
>>
>>58188812
But at the same time Garchomp can just stack damage constantly, it's a tough matchup and I have 3 doris
>>
>>58188812
>90 damage
sorry I meant 80.
>>
>>58188823
garchomp needs to discard all it's energy to do any real damage, roserade buff included, because every attacker besides clefairy resists fighting and it's not like they have the tools to keep spitomb in play. garchomp can be a nuisance. but garde is a way more annoying deck to deal with as garchomp considering you start to lose as soon as you attack into something you can't one shot. I only played against it a few times but to me it seems more garde favored. check youtube for any garde/chomp matches to get more knowledge on how to approach it.
>>
>>58188674
You one shot it with a charmed drifloon. If it has the cynthia tool that gives out hp and then he retreats you snipe it out with scream tail. At the end of the day it is a race to setup for you both.
Alternatively just run devolution.
>>
>>58188586
>>58188674

the matchup is trivial with scream tail, you just roaring scream until he's got no roserade's left and then they cannot one shot gardevoir ever

remember that spiritomb does not hit for weakness, it's not very scary in the matchup
>>
>>58188343
vmax were really complex cards with a lot of strategy to them
>>
Is anyone playing the trainer challenge format?
It has lot's of mulligans and creative recipes.
>>

If you were going to a cash prize event and your choices were Gardevoir or Dragapult, which would you take? What would give you the best chances of winning?
>>
I wanna play this game. How much time per week do you spend on this game? I already have other hobbies and i want to be at least good enough in this game to win a few games at locals every other week
>>
>>58191649
Dragapult as it is easier to play

>>58191708
About 5 hours per week, I just attend my local league every saturday. One hour for deck prep, one hour commute both ways, 3 hour tournament.
>>
>>58191649
>which would you take?
whichever one I had the most practice with or whichever one I enjoyed playing the most. garde and pult are both insanely strong if piloted well so winning with either of them depends on your skill.

Is typhlosion the only playable single prize deck?
I love single prizes but I hate typhlosion...
>>
>>58193997
Baby Moon/Dudunsparce is popping back up. It's alright.
>>
>>58193997
yesterday I went to a fun tournament (meta decks banned) and saw a handful of nice single-prize decks
>kingambit
>aegislash
>festival apples
>ancient box without the ex (this guy fucking milled me with tusk in the last turn)
>rocket's porygon
>united wings
>>
>>58193997
Typhlosion is not playable.

>pussy snowflake tournament
>>
>>58194917
yeah pretty much
>>
>>58194625
It totally is, you just need 3 cindaquil turn 1 and a typhlosion + 3 or more ethans in the discard turn 2
>>
>>58195451
>as long as everything goes perfectly according to plan it's playable
great deck
>>
>>58195451

>Haha! I beat Gholdengo and Crustle! Now what?!
>>
>>58193997
typhlosion loses on setup half of the time
>>
>>58195814
>gardevoir manages to lose to typhlosion 40% of the time
grim
>>
>>58195977
You're reading it wrong. Gardevoir beats Typhlosion 60% of the time.
>>
>want to learn how to play because I enjoy playing physical tcgs

Eugh.
>>
>>58196771
pick up regidrago v star and play expanded
>>
>>58195977
Gardevoir wins by ohkoing 2 prizers with 1 prizers. if they have to trade 1:1 they're at a disadvantage since they're slower

>Redeem the last few tiers of the battlepass
>1300 cards
>Scroll down to the converted dupes
>6 FA hydreigon-ex
>4 FA zekrom-ex
>4 FA meloetta-ex
>5 FA Hilda
>2 SIR Hilda
And lesser amounts of a bunch of others. The new battlepass system is pretty good for filling out a collection.
>>
>>58199584
It's good but holy does it feel like shit if you miss one of the FA/SIR you want

>Only got 1 FA brock last battlepass
>Using 2 is core in some decks
>Can't craft him for months still
>>
>>58199234
Our only eternal format gets no support
>>
>>58199740
pokemon just doesn't reprint older sets like the others do, so supporting expanded is a lost cause. the amount of expanded cards are finite and will be bought up if expanded gets supported again
>>
I for one am not looking forward to a meta where decks have a near 100% winrate against each other because 3 prizes are too much. So far, not a single mega has been good enough to overcome weakness unlike LucMetal or Urshifu VMax. Worse, if they ever print a mega that is, it'll probably be an insufferable tier 0.
>>
ex is only an engaging mechanic when it utilizes both single and multi-prizers of a pokemon, like gardevoir ex and shining arcana gardevoir, or gardevoir ex and mega gardevoir

That's the benefit they could do with ex's but don't.
>Mon gets a good ex
>Never gets a good 1 prizer to go with it

>Mon gets a good 1 prizer
>Never gets a good ex
>Let alone an ex at all
Baxcalibur was a prime candidate for this but it literally never got a 2nd card printed. You could've run a mono baxcalibur deck powering up your own ex

Guys when do I sell my G decks? Before December right ?

Gholdengo is still expensive atm but somehow raging bolt has gone down

Also, what the fuck why is eevee still expensive it’s still at $7-$8 a card and eevee ex $5-6 I thought the prize versions would lower these cards the
>>
>>58200512
I miss chien pao so much. It was degenerate but it was a lot fun to play and rewarding at times. I was hoping for a irida reprint of some kind since water usually get good cards in between sets

Just play raging bolt.
>>
Next rotation will be interesting as most of the meta will rotate out, pretty much only pult, grimm and eevee will remain. We might see a couple decks resurge to fill the void of power if the next couple sets aren't completely busted, fortunately megaevolutions seem pretty underwhelming as the only playable mega from the next set is gardevoir and I have my doubts.
>>
>>58200437
mega gardevoir/mega gallade synergy would be kino
>>
>>58201980
>fortunately megaevolutions seem pretty underwhelming as the only playable mega from the next set is gardevoir and I have my doubts.
Unfortunately, the following set will revolve around whether your deck can ohko charizard or deny its evolutions before they ohko you
>>
>>58202300
>Raging bolt but stage 2 and 3 prizes without owls

Eh, it's alright, far from tier 0 from what we have seen.
