I always pick Fire type, unless there's a clear and compelling reason to not do so (which has only happened in Gen 7 and 9 with Popplio and Spritatito) and L: Z-A similarly offers no clear and compelling reason to pick either grass or water starter, when I'm beelining for Fennekin's spawn and attempting to find a female at the earliest possible opportunity to use as my starter.

I don't even mind anthro starter designs either, I quite like a lot of the newer ones like Incineroar and Inteleon.
