A Weavile leads and uses Beat Up. One of the pokemon on the Weavile user's team is an Adamant Great Tusk holding a Choice Band. Will the nature of the Great Tusk impact Beat Up damage? Will the Choice Band on Great Tusk impact Beat Up damage?
>>58187241No? The damage is only based on weavile
>>58187241No. Only the teammate's base attack stats factor in.
>>58187243>>58187244so which one is it (and why?)
>>58187248Beat Up's power is calculated using the entire party's base attack stats. The damage boosts (STAB, held item, stat changes) are determined by Weavile only.
>>58187265this anon is correct. the base power of each strike is determined by the pokemon in the party, but the actual damage calculation is based on the actual attack stat of the pokemon using beat up. so the choice band on tusk won’t help weavile. a minimum attack great tusk and a max attack great tusk would make 0 difference. the formula for each strike is just the (non-fainted, non-statused) teammate’s base attack stat, divided by 10, + 5, so weavile will always have an 18 base power hit from tusk
>>58187265>>58187278Correct: Beat Up only cares about the base Attack stats of the other pokemon, and whether or not they have status conditions. Pokemon with status conditions will not be counted. If Weavile is Choice Band, the total damage of Beat Up will be 1.5x, but Great Tusk holding a Choice Band or being Adamant Nature doesn't matter at all.
>>58188396Does Komala contribute to beat up?
>>58188401Yes. It's "asleep" but isn't treated as having a status condition proper
