>>58192104The way the games implemented the idea of Pokémon Breeding is so deeply flawed, the way the idea is done doesn't make sense for the series at all. It has many illogical aspects and heavily goes against the morals the series pushes. Much of the "lore" around it feeling more like they're just desperately trying to prevent people from thinking about its glaring problems, as they clearly just designed it from mostly a utilitarian gameplay only sense. Honestly when you look at it as a whole, it really shows they messed up the idea that badly.So in terms of lore/canon, it's really just easier to ignore entirely the breeding system and lore of it, they really didn't seem to have put too much thought in to it and only have that minimal lore just to have breeding in the series at all with having to put in too much effort to do the idea right along with trying to excuse its flaws trying to avoid people thinking too hard about it.

"Mew gave birth" was a simplification of "we used samples of Mew's DNA to create new life", else it'd make literally no sense for Mewtwo to simultaneously be a lab experiment finetuned to become the ultimate fighting machine AND be the natural offspring of Mew, which would further imply Fuji and his crew basically trapped Mew long enough to inject it with all sorts of fucked up experimental drugs to result in its child becoming an abomination, all of which would be directly counterintuitive to the notion that Mew is a mythical Pokemon whose existence is debated and not considered viable for Pokemon documentation until a living specimen is presented.
