Should contests be a main staple in the games instead of a shitty gimmick? It would be cool if you could choose if you're collecting ribbons or badges like the ashnime.
>>58207751>manchilds beg GF to bring back contest >GF listen to them and bring them back in bdsp>nobody give a shit or even play themyou fags don’t even know what you want
>>58207751Not sure if a Pokemon game has this already but I wish we got some sort of badge or rare item after hitting certain milestones. Examples like defeat a total of 1,000 pokemon or your player hitting 1 million steps on their adventure. Something like accomplishments on Xbox but implemented in the games.
Pokemon desperately needs something to do with the actual Pokemon that isn't battling. We have a ton of features added (and removed) over the years that if smushed together could probably create a form of contents people would actually really get into.I personally fucking loved contests and Ribbon Mastered multiple Pokemon in RSE and ORAS, but I know a lot of people glossed over them. Considering we can now walk and run around with every single Pokemon in-game, there's no reason why Contests can't come back in a new and robust way outside of the fact that GF is just fucking lazy and is more than content with telling people to just do online if they want content.
>>58207751if they were better thought out it would have been fine.>each pokemon has 5 contest stats>but they're all calced like base stats normally, and you can see them like normal base stats>all natures get a + and - to a contest stat also (or just a plus, or whatever, just have them tie in)>moves stay with their contest typeshere's where you change it: scrap most of the current contest mechanics and basically just make it a battle where you're using moves to impress judges. They have a base hp or equivalent (impress meter I guess we'll call it) and moves just increase the bar instead of decrease it. It can be hidden I guess if you want. Judges can also have "type effectiveness" where some will prefer cool or cute or whatever moves. Though less extreme than normal type charts. And status moves will be able to influence your next move like normal; using hone claws and then swords dance and then dynamic punch would be a great way to get a cool or tough judge to be swayed to your side as an example. Beyond that it's you having to get the judge or judges impressed with your performance quicker and more compellingly than the other pokemon in the contest. Bonus: now contests can have 1 to 4 mons in it and 1 to 4 judges. a 1v1 could just be a test of sorts seeing if you're good enough for contests where a 4v4 would have 4 mons competing to ger the most votes from the judges. Bonus: you can optimize mons for being contest mons instead of battle mons which would be pretty fun. There's some stuff I'm missing but regular contests are too simple and using battles as the basis makes a million times more sense.
>>58207751You people bitched about it so they got rid of it.
