They had an extra year of development, and this is the best they could do? With a single city?

What are your thoughts

what's the problem? this is exactly what pokémon fans ask for

you faggots told them PLA was le step in the right direction or some cringe shit, so enjoy your half-baked side game slop
>>
Hopefully we can stop pretending that GF was rushed or forced to crunch or whatever as an excuse.
They're just bad developers, through and through.

>>

Low quality building design is a sign that the game is being Christmas rushed.
>>
I preordered today! Can't wait to enjoy another KINO installment in the Pokemon franchise; we fans just can't stop winning!

Based. I already preordered the switch 2 game it but im unsure if i should buy another copy to keep it sealed, also other 2 extra copies for the switch 1 game and the switch 1 game to keep sealed

They put all of their juice into animating the new Megas
>>
>>58211715
>We went from a fully animated koraidon/miraidon carrying his girlfiend juliana out of a cave in his arms to this
>>
>>58211715
they didn't have extra time, they just announced it a year early
>>58211720
I asked for a good game that doesn't look like fucking shit, why can't Pedo Freak give us that?
>>58211727
GRIM
>>58211768
the richest franchise in the history of the world can afford more juice than the bare minimun
>>
>>58211715
Keep in mind Z-A was expected to be released in 2024
>>
>>58211826
And in-between a single year they couldn't make more for details? Like wtf, they had the outlined in SV for characters being dragged around by Pokemon, just port it and tweak it. They can't even do that right.
>>
>>58211727
This is edited right?
>>
>>58211726
I can see that. They actually managed to whine themselves another year into the mix and that's what came out of it?
>>
Holy fuck PLZA looks so bad. I'll enjoy using Mega Skarmory in Cobblemon but other than that there's nothing good about this heap of shit.
>>
Reminder that GameFreak were never good devs, they struggled even making Gen 1 and had to have people step in and direct and guide them.
>>
>>58213178
Gen 1 was an indie game, that's not comparable to other gens.

i'm sorry anons but at some point we'll be forced to accept that this will forever be the norm in this godforsaken franchise

>>58211715
They used that year to add pokemon in the game, which took out graphics codes.

They're just incompetent old mummies.

>the railing for the balconies are a fat texture
>>
>>58211715
>>58211727
My guess is that at some point of the game we'll be able to climb buildings and if there were balconies, they would get in the way. It still looks like shit anyway
>>
>>58211715
GameFreak don't have to try because there's no competition. This game is nothing more than filler so they can primarily focus on Gen 10.
>>
>>58213272
There is one competitor but guess who they are getting sued by?
>>
>>58213295
they are more worried about merchandise than the fucking videogames
>>
>>58213295
Palworld is not a true competitor. This meme needs to stop.
>>
At this point I have no hope.

I give up.

Every aspect of the games follow a design philosophy of "bare minimum, rushed & lazy" because of course the stockholm-syndrome ridden fanbase will, with cultish fervour, eat up anything served to them. Eagerly, greedily and without a single thought. Like cattle.

All while they cheer and insist "It's a pokemon game, what do you expect?"

There is only slight and vanishing solace that maybe...MAYBE future gens have a handful of good or even great pokemon designs but even that seems less and less likely.
>>
>>58213256
Yes, no gameplay shown.
>>
until they stop producing merchandise anime garbage or other slop you are getting garbage so never
>>
>>58211715
yikes, looks like i wont be buying this one. maybe theyll do better in 4 years..
>>
They really give no fucks about this franchise kek, they know people will buy it anyways
>>
>>58213256
There are 100 chinese games that look just like this coming out every year.
>>
>>58213654
If what you're trying to say here is "this art direction isn't le unique" then congratulations, you missed the point.
>>58213361
>no gameplay shown
Wrong. We did see gameplay, and surprise, it looks laggy and choppy indeed. But regardless of that, Beast of Reincarnation proves they're not as incompetent as we thought, at least in the visual department. It proves they can do better than the visual diarrhea we've had to settle for these past few years.
>>
>>58213748
>If what you're trying to say here is "this art direction isn't le unique" then congratulations, you missed the point.
My point is these games are able to be made cheaply by assembly line studios.
The assets in them are not as hard to create as people think they are, and Unreal is designed to be a very easy engine to work on if your goal is mediocrity.
>>
>>58211715
They didn't have "an extra year", LZA has been fully complete and ready to go gold as soon as that first trailer dropped.
They just couldn't release it sooner because they were beholden to the Switch 2 delay, as LZA is very clearly meant to goad people into being early adopters for the platform so they don't have to fret about needing to afford a Switch 2 AND a version of Gen 10 later during Holiday Season 2026.
>>
>>58213316
If it wasn't competition, then why didn't Nintendo, GameFreak and The Pokemon Company leave it alone like they did Yo-Kai Watch, who died out on its own when Level-5 got too greedy and gave the brand a combination of oversaturation and identity crisis?
Ironically, putting spotlight on Palworld probably helped boost its longevity, when it would've just decayed naturally if it never received attention.
>>
>>58214265
Then why do they not do the same for Pokemon, especially if it's cheap and easy to create? Because they have to stick to Pokemon's specific artstyle, which doesn't mean shit if they can't make it look good?
>>
>>58214282
>They didn't have "an extra year", LZA has been fully complete and ready to go gold as soon as that first trailer dropped.
That's just making it worse. They had no good excuse for delaying it and the Switch 2 excuse doesn't cut it because a majority of other game titles aren't gonna sync up their releases. If your game is finished then release it. Anything above six months should've been more than enough time to either optimize your code or give slight visual overhauls. They did neither of the sorts.

Once again Gamefreak can't do the most basic workload.
>>
>>58214383
>They had no good excuse for delaying it
They were forced to by Nintendo, who owns a significant share of Pokemon and dictates how releases can happen on its platforms.
Like it or not, they wanted LZA to be a title to encourage early adoption of Switch 2, and if the Switch 1 version released last year on its own, then very few people would be encouraged to buy a Switch 2 JUST to upgrade the game they've already played to death and can derive no further value from unless you're a shiny hunter.
But in doing it this way, you're encouraged to buy a Switch 2 for the Switch 2 Edition so you can get the "intended" experience for LZA right from the beginning.
>>
>>58211724
As opposed to the polished, fine-tuned mainline experience
>>
>>58215326
That game wasn't even polished on launch it was just like s/v it had bugs, and the graphics and world design were complete trash it had like 3 years to polish its game which is still unacceptable that pokemon fans praised and even paid for pre orders for an unfinished state and buggy game and before that fag posts that one spot where they obviously make it look good because its related to an event or part of the storyline i don't really care because why couldn't they make the whole map beautiful
>>
Come for the bad graphics, stay for Zydoge.
>>
>>58211715
This ain't a modded SV game???

okay
you're still pointing at the trash bag to avoid talking about the garbage dumpster
>>
>>58215837
i forgot to type NTA but it's still ass regardless of all those polishes they added after all those years and it was still carried by the icon brand of the game it was literally in beta stage when it released and the only reason, you're saying it was polished was because you probably bought it when it wasn't in its buggy and non-polished state and you didn't have to go through most of the problems in that game

One is an experiment, the other is a 'safe bet'.
One is a generic wuxia inspired Souls-y game, which is hardly new ground these days. But is new ground for the studio.
The other is Pokemon. Which has bathed in the waters of mediocrity and worse, for so long that if a game actually came out and was played good, looked good, and was just good all around, people would be instantly struck with insanity.

There's also the reality that there are a lot of affordable realistic assets to populate game worlds with in digital content stores. You can just buy ferns, trees, bushes, rocks, and other natural textures, to populate your world with when making a realistic game.
Pokemon's assets have to be basically bespoke to fit in with the aesthetic of the monsters. And obviously, even with their low fidelity, Gamefreak does not have the talent on hand to do that. Why? Who the fuck knows?

Japanese national pride will never let them make Unreal Engine slop. They will make their own slop from scratch.
>>
>>58216450
They did give themselves the excuse of the city being remodeled. Also the juliette balconies are much closer to the visual.
>>
>>58211731
2 extra months wouldn't do a DAMN thing about this, this is a design and skill issue.
>>
>He thought that time was what GameFreak needed
lmao even gf has never made a good game and never will, pokemon is just about characters
>>
>>58214292

For the same reason Bloomberg sued Gamers Nexus.
They're greedy pederasts.
>>
>>58211715
Game Freak has to be one of the laziest dev teams in the industry
