>>58213428Well, originally it was because it was one of the first like, really cool bugmon that felt like it was sorta trying to go all in on just being cool and a bug. Scizor / Scyther were cool before but also barely resemble bugs. Scolipede cheats by being a bug but having some mass to it too so it still feels like a substantial pokemon that would be satisfying to interact with or whatever. At least that's my theory in terms of trying to understand appeal.Like someone could think Yanmega is cool but if you were in the pokemon world it would be a really awkward thing to interact with. Scolipede rides that line where it still sorta looks like a bug, but it's horse-like qualities give it that satisfying "pet-like heft" so to speak where it feels like it would be a nice pokemon to own.Also because its already cool and people like it, porn is inevitable, and its round body and horse-like features obviously tie into an existing appeal.
I just want to know at what point of development they considered "Centaurpede" as the english name and at what point of development they decided to scrap it. It DEFINITELY was suggested, right?
