The manga has had considerably worse people in it too so it’s extremely funny that it’s being posted as if it’s soooooo dark and twisted when the manga as a whole has been getting more and more benign since the end of XY (and good thing too, XY’s plot sucked)Frankly, writing that Sada/Turo became obsessed with Area Zero, abandoned their family, and left Arven to be attacked by Paradox Pokemon and then nearly end up living the rest of his life alone with a dying dog while they’re murdered by their own science project and replaced by an AI, but has a hidden failsafe that nearly unknowingly kills several people including their son is way worse than “Mother suddenly stopped being kind and caring and started treating me like a doll”. Honestly I’d say it’s also worse than cryofreezing several Pokemon and capturing a gas baby so it opens a portal for you to meet the squid people.
