It's a shame they never had much presence beyond introducing Hidden Power.
Seems like a lot of time and work ended up going into creating Unown only for GF to do very little with the concept. It feels like there was supposed to be an entire subplot built around Unown in Gold and Silver, either as part of the main story or post-game. Idk.
