I was annoyed it wasn't Dragon/Water.
Learns a lot of water moves by default, lives in swampy/marshy areas, evolves in the rain.

I wonder if making a pseudo a starter type is just a line GF won't cross for whatever reason?
I can't imagine why they wouldn't cross that line, but Goodra would've been such a shoe-in for Dragon/Water that it's weird for it not to be.

Idk, initially I thought they considered water/dragon to be too strong a type combination but kingdra exists, albeit it doesn't have pseudo stats and a wide movepool.
Then I had a funny realization that if they did make it dragon/water it would be similar to palkia, both bipedal and their color schemes are just a few shades away from being the same.
Still bothers me though, feels like Goodra will always be considered the runt of the pseudos without that 2nd typing.
