Let's have a gen 8 thread. People shit on gen 8 despite it bringing the most improvements to the franchise.
nope. fuck gen 8
yup. bless gen 8
>>58233246I hate SWSH's stupid story (they should have made better use of their royalty instead of focusing on a paranoid Indian), but I love the aesthetic and the characters. So far, it's the only region that screams "This world revolves around Pokemon battles and a lot of money moves in this sport." Packed stadiums, the roar of the crowd, hooligans, live streams, sponsors, souvenirs of famous trainers, unlike other regions where people treat battles more like a children's game of marbles. Jesus, you're watching a god smash an alien with his fists. Show more emotion for fuck's sake.
Should have had an elite 4 or something similar.
>despite it bringing the most improvements to the franchise. That was unironically Gen VI and even that wasn't enough for it to remain memorable. What the fuck did Gen VIII bring to the table that aren't minor tweaks like fixing Leafeon/Glaceon (likely because they couldn't find a place for the Moss/Ice Rock)?
>>58233246Your so-called "improvements" aren't saving the game from mediocrity, OP, I'm sorry to have to break it to you.
>>58233246The sword lineup is a lot better
>>58233246The gen has one of the best Gym Leader loadouts in the entire series. Each of them get enough background detail to feel properly fleshed out and the aesthetic of them being like sports superstars works really well. This also plays into the Elite 4, where instead of just four even stronger trainers instead have the people who completed the challenge do a tournament to determine who gets to challenge the champion, with the implication it can also be any of the gym leaders, works really well towards making SWSH feel like you're in a sports league instead of just going on a generic journey. I also love the implication they have gym leaders for each type and rotate which ones are active each season based on performance in the prior season.
>>58233282 >improved party wide exp share>postgame battle facility>cute girls that aren't uggo niggers and trannies>competent story>set mode>beautiful open world with different unique biomes>memorable gym leaders>a champion that's actually tough>no time travel/imagination/wormhole shit>no parallel universes>custom characters that actually look custom>minimal glitches>less kanto pandering than usual>interesting DLC and an actual post game>More freedom to explore than SM; Runs and looks better than SV.>VGC was the comfiest it's ever been>dynamax taps into the Kaijukino that founded this franchise>gigantamax is visually better than megas in every way>sneaky pebbles BTFO into extinction>playable on TV>free camera>restores apricorns>new movesets>frequent events>Is fun>N-NOOOOOO YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO HATE B-BECAUSE.....UMMMMMMMM.....SHE CUTTED STANTLER!
>>58233293The creative side of Pokemon has always been strong. It's the gamedev that sucks.
I love SWSH.
>>58233401We had the majority of those in previous games and done better too. SWSH is nothing special.>competent story>beautiful open world with different unique biomes>less kanto pandering than usual>Is funNow I know you're trolling.
