I think they have improved a bit since Gen V.Sycamore started this trend of professors being younger, more involved, and having a social life. I honestly like the subplot of him being a former co-worker with the villain. Unlike before where professors were mostly old, retired and confined to the lab. Or Juniper who gets replaced by her dad. Now we get to see like Professor Kukui who is a married man with hobbies. Or Arven's parents who fucked off and became robots.
